  1. Yesterday was the first time that I saw Farragut play this year and I wasn't impressed at all. Nothing seperated them from any other of the good teams that I have seen this year. Bearden couldn't stand up to the physical Hendersonville team. Hendersonville has alot of weapons and is very deep. Just like travel soccer the state champion will be from Middle Tenneessee. I said at the first of the year that I thought East Tn. soccer was very overrated! I wish Sandy the best on Fri night but HHS this is your time!!

  2. Most of the top juniors play on the top travel teams: Brentwood 93 Premier, Knox Crush and the two good div#1 teams from Memphis. I have never heard of these kids. Don't get upset, come and try out.

  3. With Beech beating those Chatt area teams like that what does that say about the soccer there? Beech has only 1 senior on the team and a lot of 10th graders. They start players who don't even get in @ TUSC. Franklin and Indy both looked strong over the weekend and Ravenwood is on its usual roll. Brentwood and Hendersonville will both be very good by tourny time.

  4. My final game is USJ vs. CAK.

    Then Brentwood vs. Farragut.

Farragut and CAK bringing home the trophies.

(This was posted on May 18th)

(3 out of 4 correct) (both Champs though)

CAK is just on a different level than anyone in that division.

Hendersonville was a great team and it was a shame that they went home early.

Kingsbury gave it everything they had, and was a pleasure to watch.

Columbia was exactly what we all thought....but a good season and great job making it to state.

White had a good season as well, but just isnt on that level yet.

Cleveland, was a Varsity team with a JV schedule.(not throwing darts, just stating the obvious)

Bearden is always a strong team. They are not as skilled as other teams, but losing is not an option with that program.

Brentwood is brentwood. They have a reputation and it is dead on....Great program, no class.

Great job getting back to the championship game!

Farragut was just more complete than every other team that was there.

you always seem to have fair and knowledgeable posts.

  5. What in the world are you babbling about. I made NO mention of Cleveland or (broken glass /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> ) in my post.

It was Some and I say some Hendersonville posters that claimed Hendersonville should be #2 regardless of the finish, but HHS was not even #3 or #4 but ended up #5. http://tennessee.coacht.com/boards/index.p...howtopic=196819

    I was being sincere in my "sorry Hendersonville" quote. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Again, I wish I could have been at the HHS and Farragut game not only to watch the game but the fans as well. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Very sorry! Took it the wrong way. Somebody has to spice things up now and then. I will stand behind my rant on Cleveland.

  6. Did you put sorry Hendersonville because Cleveland finished higher? There is no validity to these polls after actually seeing Cleveland play. I would crawl to Cleveland on broken glass if they could beat Hendersonville. I am involved in top level soccer across the South and was VERY disappointed after seeing Cleveland play. No size or foot skills. Win four state championships and then you can talk smack with the big boys! The next time I hear about Cleveland will be the Cavaliers and they will be known as a big disappointment like your nationally ranked soccer team.

  7. 5th best in the nation according to ESPNrise.

I didn't realize that they moved that high. That is crazy! I wonder what that is based on? I watched last night and the kids were not that big and the foot skills didn't impress me either. Not to take away from their outstanding season. Also the parents and crowd for Cleveland were very classy. Thanks for the update.

  8. The second best team will be the team who doesn't win on Saturday.

No that would be the runner up. The two best teams could have already played in the blind draw format. Cleveland was 17th in the nation and was about the 5th best team out of these eight in this tourny.

  9. I have seen all eight teams and will give you my top four. You have to start with Farragut and Brentwood. I thought some teams had more talent than Brentwood but they have improved and what a coaching job after losing 12 seniors. Farragut is a good team but not head and shoulders above the others. Hendersonville is right up there talent wise( 2 kids to U Memphis, allstater to Belmont and one to Trevecca and others going also. They played Farragut twice and gave up one ( be it questionable) goal. Bearden is always good but lost to Brentwood and was soundly beaten by Farragut twice. I think any of the top three and Bearden in most cases would easily beat the Cleveland team. I wasn't impressed with their speed or size, but they did win the games that they played.

  10. I was impressed with way Farragut played; they had too, as Hendersonville did not lie down in this one. Their defense never cracked as Farragut continued to apply the patent pressure. Goal scored on a quick start thru-ball to Sam Eddy, one-on-one with goalie, 1-0 Farragut. Weird play; Trevor taken down hard and took time to get up. As Hendersonville started questioning call, Farragut quick start caught Hendersonville off guard.

Neither goalies really challenged in this one as defenses pretty much were able to clear out and control the box. Hendersonville had that bend but not break back line as Farragut constantly pushed forward creating through ball passes only to be broken up.

Next up, Cleveland. I only saw the O.T and looked like they had their hands full. Should be a good one. 1 vs. 2 in state.

Hendersonville was caught off guard because the fouled player was on the ground still in the way. The side ref was caught off guard more than anyone, he was way out of position up the field. The Farragut kid was two strides past everyone when the ball was sent. My sight line was right on the play. Can't blame Farragut they played a good clean game. To a man on the sidelines everyone said way off! We all have been standing there and called off and even our own parents would correct us but this time there was no doubt. Good luck to Farragut.

  11. This is one of those games where too much ref involvement turned a good game for Hendersonville into a chance for Clarksville to stay in it. Two phantom penalties in the box and one with under 5 minutes on the clock. Not saying Clarksville is not a good team because they really are and I think stand a good chance of beating Brentwood. They had their own missed opportunities in the match. It was a great effort from both squads and both left it all out on the field.

Right on BarcaFan! That ref should be banned for life. He missed a throw in and allowed a corner to Hendersonville and was overheard at the half discussing that fact that he missed a call. When a ref in any sport misses a call you know it's human nature to try and make it up ( hence the make up calls). The two penalty calls were simply outrageous!!! He had as much right calling a regional final as George Bush running the most powerful country on the face of the earth. I hope when he got home, stripped to his underwear and polished off the twelve sack of Krystals that he took a long look in the mirror. Only a mom could love a head like his. I know I'm being harsh but his ineptness was very unfair to the boys who worked so hard to get to where they were last night. I think we should allow waterboarding one last time to find out what his agenda really was!

Farragut, Bearden, Brentwood, LaVergne and Clarksville. That is the five teams that Hendersonville has played out of the top eleven AAA without a loss, all ties. Nobody likes ties but that speaks volumes.

  13. I will tell you who is not the biggest suprise, and that is Cleveland. We have been here all along and if you have not heard of us, you will soon. Of course our EPSN National Ranking speaks for itself (here) .

Don't get too boastful. The next time that we hear from you will be when you get put out of the tournament. The only Cleveland that I know about is in Ohio.

  14. Big mistake by Wells. Your leaving the best returning talent in the district to go to the lowest private basketball school in Knoxville. He should of applied for Grace, or waited a year and rode Tyler Hood to a bigger coaching position. Shane better stay there for a while, he already has a reputation for staying somewhere 2/3 years and leaving his players hanging.

If LC has any common sense they will offer the position to Coach Stewart. He knows his stuff, and will go above and beyond to help his players succeed on the court and in life. Another person they might want to look at is the Asst Coach for Eldridge at Murville. I heard he was interested last time, but was edged out by Wells.

I believe the asst baseball coach is Coach Lee who coaches girls basketball. The head baseball coach if I am not mistaken is his son-in-law. Several sports need an overhaul at LC, but there is too much of the good ole boy syndrome going on to make that happen.

I hope you are doing well! Your picture brought back memories. I watched you play back when Thompson-B Arena first opened in 88'. You could jump out of the gym. I thought when Indiana drafted you that the NBA game was suited for you. You will always be one of the best in U.T. history.

  15. You okay? /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

Eurosport needs to stick to selling shin guards. I'm glad that the tournaments are almost here. I have seen alot of these teams play and these rankings are laughable. I take that back they are outrageous! This crap makes the BCS look like a good system. Don't bother asking for an example because it is full of fallacies.

  17. Heres what im looking at. Both teams hate each other im sure so the intensity will obviously be high. Brentwood is playing better as of now. Hendersonville has just recently stepped it up in the last 2 weeks. Hendersonville's stadium is amazing and is really hard to beat them there. Also mention that it is the last Home game and Senior night. So with that said, i say that its Hendersonville's game to lose.

Good luck to both sides. There are kids on each side that I have coached and watched develop through the years. I agree with the senior night comment.

  18. Who will win this battle of top programs?

Where have you been coolbreeze. I will see you this summer on the travel side. If anyone has 3 better seniors that Johnson, Kelly and Tummons please step up and reply. Brentwood is talented as usual but the home pitch for Hendersonville will be too much for them to overcome.

  19. For what it's worth, probably not much, Ravenwood beat Hendersonville something like to 2 - 0 or 3 - 0 in the preseason. It wasn't even that close. They dominated them. The other thing to consider are the margins they're winning by. Your point is valid that their opposition has only won about half their games, but Ravenwood is blowing people out. I want to say they've only surrendered 2 or 3 goals thus far while piling up about 50 on their end. In the end, I agree with you in that much will be learned after Brentwood and Indy.

In no strecth of the imagination did Ravenwood dominate Hendesonville, the score was 2-0. The scores came on corners and it was at Ravenwood. I'm not complaining because all of us seem to get calls at home, I believe the crowd can influence some calls. Hendersonville has played the following since: Christian Bros, MUS, Beardan, CAK, Farragut, Knox Cath, Ryan, Collierville, Station Camp ect. Hendersonville has improved and everything will play out very soon! I know Ravenwood's talent level is high but experience goes a long way come tourney time. HHS "Tradition Never Graduates".
