  1. Will there be a bracket posted soon showing each Sunday grouping? Thanks
  2. Could someone post any Tiny Day/ Red Edmonds tourney scores from this weekend?
  3. Thanks.... Hate to hear that.
  4. Wow!! She was a good pitcher? She playing somewhere else now?
  5. Do not know the girls name, but the Freshman from Kingsport Dobyns-Bennett is a beast on the mound. Commands all pitches well and looked to throw in low 60's maybe. Saw her in action this weekend up at the Eastman tourney.
  6. Looking for a pitcher with good speed and off-speed pitches to play on a very competitive 18u travel-ball team based out of Knoxville, TN.This is the last spot open. Please contact David Baker at 865-384-5756 for info. We will be playing in at least two Exposure Tourneys out of 6-7 summer tournaments.
  7. Heard the starting pitcher for them last year is no longer with the team. Any truth to that?
  8. Grainger also has another Freshman, Ashlyn Hodge that plays 2nd/ 3rd that is hitting .515 as a slapper. Both girls know the game well and are fun to watch.
  9. Kimberlyn Thomson, SS for Grainger HS in East TN. She's batting near .400 with 2 HRs already.
  10. I know the school and am researching them even further (Class sizes, class offerings, and such). No, the inheritance came from my Father's estate that passed away less than a year ago. If we move on this, it will be completely on our own dime. Again, nobody has ever pursued us from the school. We are the ones that have sought info out about the school. Again, I am sure you are correct in your assumptions in some cases, but you are very wrong in this one.
  11. No..... not liking what you are implying and assuming. Our better fortune finance-wise is due from an inheritance from a family estate. Nobody from the private school has ever contacted us. I'm sure there are shady things like that going on from time to time, but that isn't the case here. It's not really about the softball, but about the Christian curriculum. However, I would hate for her to have to sit out a year for a sport she likes playing. My daughter is no all-star by any means. This post of yours just goes to show how sad athletics and such have gotten in this country.
  12. Thanks for the info and suggestions.
  13. The school is O.K., but we have wanted our Daughter to go to a Christian school that has Christian Principles built within the curriculum as well. We have just not been able to afford it until recently. So you are saying if we live inside a 20 mile radius of the private school, she would have to sit out a year, but if we were to live more than 20 miles from the school, she would be immediately eligible? Thanks for the info
  14. I have looked at the handbook several times. I didn't see anything specifically mentioning Public vs. Private. What is the 20 mile rule that I keep hearing about. Thanks
  15. What is the actual transfer rule in Tennessee from Public to Private. I have a freshman daughter that plays softball at a public school. We would have sent her to the local Private Christian school had we had the resources this year. We now have been fortunate enough to gain those resources and would love to send her to the Private school next year; however, we don't want her to have to sit out a year of softball either. I have heard something about a 20 mile rule, anyone out there able to clarify any of this for me? Thanks
  16. Anyone have any pool play results yet from Gibbs Tournament this weekend?
  17. Thanks.... Any more scores from bracket play this morning?
  18. Anybody have any scores for the Gibbs JV Tournament?
  19. I assume you meant DISTRICT 1 sweep. On paper maybe, but that's why we play the game. Good luck to all teams and congrats on their seasons thus far.
  20. As far as the question goes for Runs for or Against, most districts don't use that format to settle ties. I coach in a district that during the preseason meeting, all coaches draw a number and that number is recorded for that season. When it comes down say between two teams with only one loss, then the team that drew the smaller number wins the one seed going into the District Tourney. Some districts decide it on a coin flip also.
  21. I only have heard of two scores thus far. Chuckey Doak beat Greenville H.S. 19-2, and Grainger defeated Claiborne County 15-1. Anybody heard any other scores from the BRAC?
  22. Anyone know anything about any of the new BRAC conference schools? Any predictions for how the season will go?
  23. Right now, we have had two Greenville teams (South and West) drop out as of this morning. The teams left are as follows, Grainger, Seymour, Union Co., Greenville, Chuckey Doak, Morristown West, Cocke Co., and Defending State Champions Unicoi Co. (Claiborne Co. West and South Greene have backed out). The cost for three games is $115, and for 4 games is $135. I am redrawing the bracket today with the teams we have currently committed. If interested, contact us ASAP. Thanks for your interest.
  24. Looking for one more team to play in the first annual Lady Grizzly Preseason Play Day at Frank Larino Park in Morristown, TN on March 13th, 2010. We have had one team drop out. Cost is $115 for three games. Anyone interested may contact Coach Wyatt at Grainger High School 865-828-5291.
