  1. Anyone have any info on the CA game today?
  2. GCHS vs Zion postponed until Monday at 5:00 due to severe weather in Maury and Giles County...Tornado Warnings
  3. I agree, the Richland Hickman Co score will not be anywhere close to what it was last time. Last game Richland got thumped while playing with out a starting midfielder who was out with a red card from the E.Hickman game and a defender who was out with a cracked rib. Both are back and the defender doesn't seem to be favoring the rib injury. Giles Co's young team is starting to mature. Last two games beat Richland and Zion both 1-0. Prior to that lost 1-2 to E.Hickman. It seems most things revolve around whether or not the 3 first year starters on defense (2 sophmores) step it up or not....also if strikers pull the trigger up front (a freshman and sophomore). Coin toss on both games.
  4. I know we are not even done with the district tournament but what about next year????? What teams leave the district and who do we add?....I hear their will be some changes. I hear CA will not be with us....is that true? E.Hickman #1 seed this year....what do you lose? As you know this has been a rebuilding year for GCHS. They won the region the last two years and played with only 3 senior starters and 2 juniors, very young team. The leading scorer was a freshman (Clay Whetsel) and second in scoring was a sophomore (Randall Brown). You could pretty much say that the 12 main players this year were 3 seniors, 2 juniors, 5 sophomores, and 2 freshman. Should be stronger next year but do lose a solid goalie that is leaving to play at Martin Methodist (Nic Oliver). GCHS will however lose their Coach who is going to play professionally in the women's Icelandic League. Next year will be GCHS 4th coach in 5 years. Any strong assistants looking for a job?? Interested in knowing what the rest of you will have next year.
  5. OH, I understand....that's exactly how I thought they determined it.......HA /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  6. I understand the higher seed gets to host the 1st round. My question was/is..how do you give Zion the #4 seed and the opportunity to host a a first round game against a #5 seed to Giles County. They both finished with a 5-3 record and Giles County beat Zion 1-0 head to head. Sounds like GCHS got the shaft on that one. Sounds like GCHS should be the #4 and hosting #5 Zion.
  7. The # 9 Perry Co beat #8 Loretto 2-1. Congrats Perry Co...you won the opportunity to travel and play #1 E Hickman. Giles County and Zion both finished 5-3 in the district. Giles County won headed to head against Zion. Someone please tell me how in the world Giles Co gets the #5 seed and has to travel to Zion who received the #4 seed.
  8. Seeds should be; #1 E Hickman 7-0-1 #2 CA 7-0-1 #3 Hickman Co 5-2-1 #4 GCHS 5-3 tie breaker beat Zion #5 Zion 5-3 #6 Richland 4-4 #7 Wayne Co #8 Loretto #9 Perry 8 and 9 winner plays #1 #7 at #2 #6 at #3 #5 at #4
  9. Can anyone answer a few questions.... My understanding is that 1st round games are Friday and Saturday.....I also am led to believe that semi final games are to be played Monday night. #1 is that correct. With having 9 in the district I assume that #8 plays #9 with the winner playing #1 in the quarterfinals. Therefore I assume 8 and 9 will play Friday night and then play #1 Saturday. #2 Is that correct? Seeds #1 and 2.....CA and E.Hickman (whatever order) Seed 7, 8, 9.....Wayne Co, Loretto, Perry Co 1 playing 8/9 winner...2 plays 7 3 thru 6 are Giles Co, Richland, Zion, and Hickman Co (order tbd). 3 plays 6, and 4 plays 5......any one of those teams could beat the other on any given day. Are 1st round games at the home of the higher seed or is the entire tourney at one location? Any word on the location?
