    small school individual state tournament This is the worst idea I've heard in a long time. It was argued "well in football..... Wrestling isn't football. In wrestling it makes no difference in the enrollment of the school for the success of an INDIVIDUAL. The state is already watered down enough with the current D1 and D2 format. Another separation is the LAST thing we need. It was brought to my attention that Ronnie Carter shot this down years ago saying it would create a state tournament with about 20 teams. What a joke! A state champion should be just that. A STATE CHAMPION. Let's work on striving to beat the best, not whittling things down to create a false sense of success.

    Yes, and no one has mentioned that the 140 was beating Colbaugh 4-2 in the middle of the second period before he got caught and stuck (and had choice for 3rd period) Watch out for both of them at state

    If anyone has told you that you must be a teacher to be paid staff as a coach at a public school, they are incorrect. You would simply be nonfaculty paid staff. However, you wouldn't get paid until the conclusion of the season and would get a background check and submit various other paperwork to the county, take an online coaches exam, become certified, etc.. You can go to HCDE.edu for info or just inquire with any coach at a public school. I would recommend to get it ASAP, sort of a pain in the ######.

    If you don't take any exotic trips and keep uniforms, sweats, practice gear simple, you can get by with $12,000. The good news is for wrestling (With the exception of mats), the start up year is really no more expensive than any year going forward. With $15,000 you'll be much more comfortable (this does not include mats). In my opinion a refurbished mat is not worth the cost (about $5k). I would recommend a dulamar as opposed to resilite. Especially if your a new program with space issues. The ability to move it easily and efficiently is priceless
