I think I can pick the winner of this game. SC wins easily. I think SC has the offensive line with the size to control the game. Also SC has the backs to drive the ball down the field. I really don't think SC has the defense to stop SC. All in all, no way SC loses this game. Might take note also, SC's Band will take home the trophy as the best band on the field. Hopefully you will agree with me but if you don't and would like to make a little wager let me know. Oh yes, the game will be played at SC. The GOLD in SC colors will prevail. Can't leave out the cheerleaders, SC's cheerleaders are the best also.I could go on and on but I think you get the drift, SC LOSES this game. See you at SC Friday night to see SC win and SC lose.

Forrest moves on 34 - 6.
Wow, I think Aqua Village will win this one.

How did you get this much better in one year. Offense was not good at all last year. I would expect them to be near the bottom again.
bluedeamonsfan is actually Coach Bub Chaffin....
-
I was wrong. This is the most delusional post.
Hey Croz, you guys are better this year than last. How did your leg injury finally do?
-
He is still there. Im not sure about his brother.
The last time I talked to Reed he was getting ready to retire and hoped to move back to Jamestown to his farm. Vic don't know when it gets cold and you need to put some 'britches' on. LOL

Scooter is the only one right! Macon wins big time
Don't think 'Ole Scoot' said Macon wins big time, just said if you don't control the QB he can beat you.

Got to watch the YAI scrimmage with Scott county last night. YI had several starters standing in street clothes and only played maybe two series with the starters in. From talking to the parents of the kids they have some bumps and bruises nothing serious just resting and not taking the extra hits. Moved the ball really well. Defensively they looked totally different from last year, very physical and swarming the ball. One of the more physical teams I remember around here in a few years. Looking forward to watching this season. Maybe we can surprise a few people. I've seen some picking the Dragons as low as 6th. I don't see that but only time will tell. Good luck to all this year. GO DRAGONS!!!!!
Is Vic Wheaton still coaching and has his brother Reed moved back to Jamestown?

No doubt. Jennings has to stay healthy. He has been banged up in the past. He runs a lot...so that puts him at more risk.
Uhhh - my sentiments exactly !!
-
It will certainly be a close game as it usually is.
I don't look for SC to completely stop Macon's QB but try to contain him. Soft rush to try and make him throw the ball and not tuck it and run it. If you can't contain him he will run you into the next county.
-
Jennings is playing baseball at Ole Miss. He could play football at a high level also.
Yep, just hope he stays healthy

Looks like no team is this region of the top four are head and heels above any of the others. I say Dekalb wins it but will be pushed. Squatch strong D will keep them in every game. Smith Co has the second best athlete , King, in the district behind Jennings. UHS seniors have won 30 games and 5 playoff games in the past three years and will no be beat easily. York has a great signal caller in Cravens with an explosive system of offense he could flourish. Hardest time getting a read on the order in past 5-6 years for me.
Injuries will play a lot in this years ranking. Jennings with a full ride to Ole Miss is one hit away from throwing golden opportunity away. It's not "if" he can sign with a SEC ride but he has already signed. Upperman could lose a key back and really cause them problems. Seq. seems to have several players to step up if need be. SC can't afford to lose their freshman manager. Might have to play 10 man football if they lose players. SC has 6 home games this year. York, well they have a lot of players returning but can they afford to lose any key players. Dad seems to think they will be improved this year. Teams are going to lose players every year but which key players that are lost can affect the outcome of the season. Now, with all this said, you already knew it.

Seq. County had a excellent MLB, tall and fast, several years ago. Seems like he went to one of the military academies. I think his name was Cates also. Any relations to the kid in photo from Seq. Co.?
-
Yorks is a 4 yr starting senior I wish he was a junior.
Hackett at Smith Co. is a Jr. and started last year.

Last years loss to MC was a fluke. A team loaded with Sr. coming off of a title equaled hangover. I think they really thought all they had to do was put on the gold hat and MC would fold. Harper goes down, and everybody else "whiz's" down their legs. That team had no leadership, and was a dissapointment in my eyes. This years squad is a good as last years, minus one player.
Postie must be building another house - nowhere to be seen.
-
88 players? We don't even have half of that. We're very young, playing a bunch of Freshmen and Sophmores, but I'd say we'll give you all you want.
No offense to my Wildcat brethern, but this ain't Monterey.
Hey seven, haven't talked with you in a while. Hope all is well

Sequatchie hasn't had someone that big at LB in quite a while. The starting MLB's dad Tony Cates played at Air Force and then Vandy but that was in the 80's. And then Josh Cain was an All American at UTC as a LB played in the mid 90's.
Tony Cates is the name of the player I was talking about. He was a stud.
-
Impressive win by MC. I thought Westmoreland was going to field one of their best teams ever this year?
I agree fan, Postie had this team built very high at the end of last year. Also, Postie has been a no-show on T.
-
This will be a good statement game for both teams..may the best SC win!!
I remember 10 years or so ago that Seq. had a stud linebacker. about 6'4" and 250 lbs. that was a go getter. Seems like he went to the Naval Academy or some military school. I remember his nickname was "The Exterminater". Anyone have any info on him now?
-
I have thought that many times in the past several years. It will likely be pretty close.
Can't argue with that.
-
I'm taking Upperman 41-13 over Montery, Stone 27-21 over Dekalb, Whitwell 13-6 over Sequatchie, Smith 21-20 over Gordonsville, and Marion 56-0 over Grundy. Good luck to all the Region teams as the real fun starts next week.
I don't see the Smith/Gordonsville game that close.
-
28-21 Westy wins
Who did Westie play last week?
-
35-20 MC
Has Postman left the country? Can't believe he hasn't at least blasted SC about something. BOLA on Postie !!!!
-
Upperman over Monterey 28-7, Stone over DeKalb 28-21, Smith over Gordonsville 21-14, Sequatchie over Whitwell 21-14, White over York 24-21
Keeping scores close aren't you Hoss? I Know very little about Seq. or Whitwell. I was expecting much more out of York. YorkDaddy is going to have to fill us in on what occurred. I think DC will beat Stone. I look for a larger point spread between SC and G'ville. I hope the kid with the broken thumb can cast up and play. On the opening play we lost our center, ankle, and did not return. Questionable for this week. This time last year we already had more than 1/2 our starters injured. Good luck to all teams and try to keep injuries down.
-
Smith County's Holder will run wild on his old team plus Gville does not have anyone who can catch King.... just ask Macon! SC by 28. I predict York will beat WC in a close one. I still say Cookeville rolls LA.....Uncle Jimmy always has their number.
Holder will have a good game, but look for the playbook to open more. Too many good backs in the fold to not use more. After three or four games SC will be hard to defense. King would make a fantastic running back, but with Holder, you would lose the receiving strength if you moved King. Defenses do not need to be on an island with King.
