  1. Jared Hawkins, Vanderbilt University. He was clocked at a 4.47 out of high school (according to Scout.com's 2005 player bio). The only other tidbit I can offer, as this topic has been very deeply explored, is Team football speed is an average minus two outliers-- throw out your 4.5-6 WR/RB and your one 6.1-6.3 OT and then average the other 9 players. That average time is what makes a team "Fast" and, in my opinion with similar skill and competent coaching, more likely to win in any contest. I don't think this contradicts the points made by anyone, but if you 'zoom out' and focus on the entire field a solid 4.55 will destroy 5.5+ team (based on above formula) and will have a challenge with a 5.0ish one. Great relevant conversations guys-- this is a pleasure.
  2. Point well taken, Lions, but please 'remember' that not all posters on here from Unicoi have been classless.
  3. How did the scrimmage with Sullivan South go, Etown people?
  4. No disrespect, but who was that and where did he go?
  5. Let's get one thing straight-- the people posting on here (myself included) have absolutely nothing to do with Unicoi County's state championship. The coaches, players, and the close families of those who deserve the credit are in Murfreesboro, NOT posting on CoachT.
  6. Blunt and Direct. I don't take offense to that statement ... I just don't agree with it. And neither does the TSSAA official record book. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  7. The Unicoi County Lady Devil softball team settled any and all matters with their PLAY on the field throughout the tournament. My blood boiled every time I read one of the posts that Doodlebug shared, but this isn't going to help instill respect for our team. Goodpasture and Unicoi provided a championship series for the ages and did so with class. We should follow their example. Best of luck to Goodpasture and Congratulations Lady Blue Devils!
  8. I am a die-hard Unicoi Countian, but I can honestly say that I've enjoyed your posts. They were well thought out and supported by facts of which you provided. Obviously, I didn't agree with most of them, but I never felt bashed or smighted. When you stated your opinion, you were a blunt and direct, unapologetic yet not offensive. Thank you for making this board as interesting as the games and, I HOPE, the post game commentary can stay on the "my goodness what an amazing and worthy state championship series that was" path. The young ladies settled the debate on the field, there's no other wars to win on a message board. Best of luck to Goodpasture in the future!
  9. I could not be more proud of our Lady Devils. The State AA Softball Championship is clad in BLUE!!!
  10. I've combed through every online local newspaper from Hamblen County to Johnson County trying to find a good scrimmage to go to Friday and have had zero luck. I've clicked through several threads, too, so I figured this would be the easiest way to get the information for my football fix. Teams--Place---Location List 'em as you know 'em and Thanks!
