How are things looking for the Hawks this year? I know that they lost a few key players. Coach Craig is one of the best coaches I've seen. Good luck to another great year!!!

duckman...in post 12 you talk about clarksburg starting a program and now you say you didnt consider that they didnt have a program... not a big deal, but i do want to say that i dont think you should bad mouth the clarksburg kids. you never know with the ebb and flow of high school talent, clarksburg might start a program and spank mckenzie. you just never know...any team, any night... i just hope that the kids that want to play, get to play....

Maybe its just me, but it doesnt make sense. You have a coach that is well liked by players and parents, and members of the community. He is a good coach that is building a young team into a district contender and he is being let go...what am I missing...

Great article...Sounds like a new coach is going to have a tough time. It appears that Kevin has the support of the community, players, and parents. As a parent of a Clarksburg parent, what do you think?

Was he a teacher there also? If so, did he retain his teaching position and not baseball?

Competition for positions would drive an attitude change. Bruceton should have let the Clarksburg kids play... I know that I would rather play less and be a part of a winning team than playing every down on a losing one...but thats just me.

27 signed up...that's awesome for a school Clarksburg size. I hate that they were not allowed to play. Adults strike again and kill a good thing for the kids. Maybe now that there are really nice baseball and softball fields, these two sports can become self sufficient. And with the gym being capable of hosting post season games, more money can be generated. I think if the community decides that they want a football team, the money can be raised. Scotts Hill football boosters did an excellent job getting their program off the ground. Before anything...Clarksburg needs to get a weight room...

Thanks for the info. I thought it was against TSSAA rules, but I have been mistaken before. Why do you think that it would be a weekly massacre? If they can get 30 boys who want to play, work hard in the weight room, and give 100%, I think they could match up pretty well against their district with a few years experience. Like I said, I have been wrong before. I have seen it done before...

I had heard that there was talk about maybe letting boys from Clarksburg play on Bruceton's football team. Anybody heard anything about that? Is Clarksburg thinking about starting a football program?

Success breeds success. Maybe now that they tasted playing in regional tourny, they will want to do what it takes to get back there next year. I hope so... Why does Clarksburg not have a football team? There are schools smaller than they are who have one. At the 1A level, all you need is about 30 to 35 players to play and compete. I saw on the April 2008 school board minutes that they deleted from the agenda the idea of letting Clarksburg boys play with Hollow Rock Bruceton. Any idea what happened? I understand they need a weight room. The baseball team would benefit tremendously is they could work out and get stronger.

It sounds like they could be a really good team and had a pretty good coach. What kind of coach do they need, what would he need to do in order for them to reach their potential.
