Sullivan South Here is the low down on Columbia; Sorry Bucks all is fair in Love and War: Columbia backs can be stopped. Anderson County did it at certain time for a loss. What they like is for you to load up the line then they sneak a pass across the field. Sullivan South defense is sound so you will not have to do that. Your coach has all the film he needs. He knows what to look for. One thing about it is there QB does have an arm; keep that in mind it may be one of the best in the state so do not let them fool you. The key to the whole game is do not give him all day. He does not run very well. If you put the least bit of rush on him then he is in trouble. Anderson County was very quick but did not stack the beef so the quarterback had all day. Like I said if he is rushed this is the difference in the game. The running back do well in the open field and braking tackles but they are not speedsters for the most part. And last but not least and after the fight Anderson County has put up you should not have to worry about the officials as they know to be good this time. 3rd time is the charm. But just be weary if they give you a good call because they will take 3 back that really count. That is the way they work. Good Luck Sullivan South

That is fair enough. I know nothing about SS, nor did I about AC until Friday night. If it's any consolation, I felt Columbia was outcoached. Why did Columbia kick it to ????(can't recall his number but he ran it all the way back once and close to doing it several times) after kicking to the sidelines before? They new he could kill us but did it anyway. Special teams coaching by Columbia wasn't that good. But Columbia had more raw talent and more speed. Some on their roster are around 300lbs. If AC is lucky enough to meet us again next year, they get to meet our phenom QB's younger brother. Bob, If we do meet again. I hope it will be as mush fun as this one was. Mavmaximus, Fanboi and oprressed238: First of all if Clinton fans were not so upset we beat them they would not be defending Columbia like they are. 2nd if we were playing the Devil himself, Clinton fans would convert to the devil side. I just do not see it; Clinton fans you do not have a dog in this fight!! What is your argument! The facts are even on video and you still find a way to justify a lie. Well I am happy we have a good bunch of Maverick fans that still believe in the truth and then standing up for it. This coach or whatever he is will be reprehended several by the TSSAA and may include a police report against him. I have seen stupid reactions in my life but this one takes the cake. I cannot wait to watch Sullivan South next week. They can have all the film they want on this game, including the so called coach from Columbia's reaction. The problem with current TSSAA officials is that they are human and they can and have been bought off. Without a clear checks and balance then officials will be human. This is what the TSSAA does not have and never have and this has been going on for ages. New rules and investigations need to be instituted. In fact the TSSAA needs to be investigated themselves. A couple of calls to a senator or two will get this done maybe not in time for Sullivan South game but at least for next year.

On WYSH Radio the only announcers were the Columbia crew. So they were not about to promote the Mavericks on anything or elaborate. They did keep saying often that Columbia just cannot stop the Mavericks. Too high powered offense for them. I think the Coaches will now focus on the defense and the weight room to get some of the players beefed up this Winter. I say they all deserve a Honey Baked Ham!

Anderson County Can Hold Their Heads Very High!!!! Actually they were the better team; overall. I understand there were some referee issues against AC but let us be Honest the Mavericks have outperformed all expectations by unbelievable results. I noticed something tonight each and every player, played their heart out. A Maverick never quits and that holds so true tonight. This Team in itself has accomplished more than any team in this State for this year. You Guys need to Hold those Heads up High and Walk around Proud! You are the best! Trust me with the little time each of you have had, the different coaching changes, and the small time you have had to equip yourselves; you guys have done what no other team has accomplished. This I can Say was A true Maverick Team!!! Team 2009 For the Seniors I wish you the best of Confidence! You guys are the best!!! Just Remember you were a part of this incredible dream! For those that are ready for next year! Oh boy you will give AC schedule a run for the money! I really think that AC will be the only county team standing this time, without a doubt!!! I was coming in to watch this game unfortunately I could not get a flight in; Anderson County Airlines were all booked up. LOL Good Luck Mavericks but you had better be ready on defense as this team will run all over you if they get a chance. Get Go Mavericks play your heart out for the County of Anderson!

Hey AC fans and Clinton alike: Can you get some dirt on Columbia? I heard they have one of the best offensive lines in the State. Columbia's schedule was grueling. They have played some top quality teams. Of course the 11-1 could have been 8-4 or at least 9-3. But it appears they know how to win close games. This means they have the same fight that AC has; never give up no matter what the score is. But with a huge line like they have, then they should get tired at some point. There first time in the playoffs ever? Or 1952 if that counts. Well if so they will come ready to play and they are at home to boot. But every good team has its weak points. So if anyone has any inside info on Columbia and that include Columbia fans and enemies that are checking out this message board, please share with all of us.

Hey Guys Anderson County did what it takes when the money was on the line. This Coach Gillum as a Rookie Coach is Unbelievable!!! The Price brothers are unbelievable!!! This team is incredible!!! What can you say? The first game against Clinton was actually won by the Mavericks; on paper it was. This game was a bit closer on Paper but the Mavericks won that one too! If you have a semi-good defense not many teams are going to beat this Westcoast high-powered offense. The only thing the Mavericks need to improve on is turnovers. As you know they had 6 turnovers against Clinton the first game; and be honest that could have beat them then. But this is good since they would have came out almighty and more than likely lost this game. I want to congratulate Clinton on playing a superb season and to the stall and coaching. I am sure Coach Gillum respects them for their enormous talent; Stone and Co.!! I think it is time now for all Anderson Conty residents, Clinton and Oak Ridge to get behind Anderson County and show their pride. We are the same people, in fact we are the same County. Good Luck to the Dragons and the Wildcats next year!! Let's Go Mavericks!!!!!!

Here you go again. I never meant any harm intentionally to any player. Trust me those players when they come onto the field are not blowing kisses to each other. I was having a little fun to get the heat up. But now when you pull a race card out on me you are throwing the punches. In fact I had no idea of the Color of Stone, seriously. Trust me I know Anderson Count Coach would never imply such. I apologize with anyone that I have offended but this is football and when you are running down field to make a block you better not be deciding how easy you are going to block someone because either you make the hit or the other person will make the hit on you. So that is brutal if you look at in the right way. So I wish no harm to any of the players, especially Clinton. However Go Mavericks!!

Come on guys; take it easy on my Mavs. Sense they could very well play Clinton in the 2nd round all they need for a win on Thursday is to take Stone out. Then when second round comes around it will be all AC. From what I hear that is the goal. This particular game does not mean that much, round 2 is what counts. Again, Mavs, have nothing to lose and must prepare for the playoffs. In fact I would not be surprised if Coach Gillum didn’t just tell them, go out there and have a good time but when you get the chance make sure Stone is not ready for round 2 Run the score up Clinton but just make sure you keep Stone-Cold!! Go Mavericks!!!! Make it a Bull in the Ring dont worry about winning! Just play real football hard hitting!!!

It is really going to be hard for the Mavericks to pull this one out. Clinton is well balanced. The mavericks need to continue the course and go after Stone. He is going to run the ball on the corners when he has to and will get some yards if they do not close those ends up. The point is this is football and they will have make him think about running the ball again. So if they keep that in mind then they may have a good chance. It will be a great game and I hear AC will be doing some headhunting on Stone. They have his number and trust me there is going to be some hard hitting from AC. AC has nothing to lose. They are already in the Playoffs win or lose. Clinton has a perfect records to lose and Clinton has trouble playing AC at home. If AC takes Stone out of the game early then Clinton's perfect record will fall. AC knows the running game is going to be an issue and they know that Clinton will mix it up. I would never count AC head coach Gillum out of any game.
