Pearl and East are at different levels right now. Harris is doing a great job, but they are young and untested. Struggling with a bad Liberty Creek team showed that.

I’m not talking about this year’s Pearl team! Harris is way ahead of schedule. Every team will have a team they struggle with along the way, especially a young team. But bottom line they went in there and got the W. That’s more impressive then a blowout for them to me!

I do. This is not the FRA of the last few years. They could very well win D2AA. They beat CPA last year and it will not be a surprise when they do it again.

They said the exact same thing when Pearl played them too!

Btw harris is doing what I thought he would do. The kids are responding.

Yeah Coach Harris has one of the brightest football minds in high school football! Damien has been drawing up plays ever since we were kids. East got a good one that’s for sure!!!

Losing Stewart at the helm had to take an effect.   He is definitely an up and coming coach!  The guy knows how to motivate his kids.

East young they’ll be ok! Once coach Harris gets things situated everything will run smoothly. Probably about week 3 or 4 will be a difference!!

Coach Harris is my brother as well through the days together at UTM.  Anyone who was fortunate enough to see him play at Pearl-Cohn in 1998 and 1999, or at UTM in the early 2000s, got to witness one of the toughest pound for pound football players that the good Lord put on this planet.

Could step on the field on any level and make an immediate impact!!!

  6. East has gotten one of the better coaching minds in all of Tennessee! Damien Harris has been ready for this for several years now and finally got the opportunity. He was the glue that held Pearl Cohn together and im shocked they let him walk out the building. East, y’all couldn’t have hired a better leader, teacher and just an all around great person than Coach Harris! Pearl Cohn will definitely miss him. So congratulations to Coach Harris your time is now let get it!!!

The biggest boost Hillsboro received was when Edgehill was changed from Glencliff to Hillsboro zone.

Glencliff went from state runner up to nothing overnight and Hillsboro suddenly became the Belle of the Ball.

    Open zone just extended it.

See you not even taking in consideration that every project housing got rebuilt .So most family had to relocate so that killed a lot of the zoning also.

    Ask and ye shall receive.

    Metro 1990-2000   11 seasons

    Whites Creek                    73-49   60%

    Hunters Lane                   67-50   57%

    Stratford                           68-54   56%

    Pearl Cohn                        67-60   53%

    McGavock                         60-59   50.4%

    Overton                             58-58   50%

    Glencliff                             58-61   49%

    Hillsboro                            54-64   46%

    Maplewood                       43-72   39%

    Antioch                              42-72   37%

    Hillwood                            41-73   36 %

Notice how much parity there WAS. Playing with your zoned kids. Everybody had a couple of at least decent seasons during that time span.

That’s still top heavy tho! You can’t knock history dude, two metro teams playing for a gold ball same year is impressive.

Here are the statistics from the last 6 seasons to back up what I said. 2017-22.

Pearl Cohn                                     66-12    85% win percentage with one game remaining

    Cane Ridge                                    53-17  76%

East Nashville                               51-22  70%   with one game remaining

    Hillsboro                                        30-34   47%

    Maplewood                                    28-37  43%

    McGavock                                      24-41  37%

    Stratford                                        23-45  34%

    Overton                                         20-40  33%

    Hillwood                                        16-41  28%

    Hunters Lane                                11-48  19%

    Whites Creek                                 11-48  19%

    Antioch                                             2-55  7%

    Glencliff                                            2-55  7%

Pretty spot on from what I said. 3 county wide all star teams.

    Truth hurts.

Do this from 1990-2000 and see what you come up with! I played in the mid 1996-2000.

After watching the Pearl Cohn-Haywood game, Anderson County will be going home with the gold ball. No disrespect to Pearl Cohn, because that was one of the best football games I've ever watched, but they are going to need to find some defense if they expect to beat Anderson County. But they do have some dudes over there, looking forward to a good game. :thumb:

    We’ll see Saturday!!!
