HELLO ALL!! Now all the substates are over and teams prepare for state and invitational tourneys. Tennessee Thunder Select is looking to add a couple of big men for our stretch run. We are offering a few young men a unique opportunity to keep playing through the summer and gain some national attention from scouts and college coaches. We have already qualified for both the 16/under and 17/under state tourneys. We are looking for some post players to help us be one of two teams (Us and YOMCA 15s) to try to qualify for 2 nationals. We have also been invited to play in the Prestigious Tournament of Champions and Hoosier Shootout in Indianapolis (looking to be the TOP tourney of the summer). Below is dates of tourneys we have left if you think you are interested and looking to get yourself more college exposure send me an email at basketballcoach21@comcast.net May 23-25- Tournament of Champions (Held at Duke, UNC, and NC State) May 30-June1- 17/under State Tourney in Memphis June 6-8- 16/under State Tourney in Memphis July 8-10- Hoosier Shootout in Indianapolis What we are looking for is sophomores that do not turn 18 before Sept 1 or Freshman that can play up at the next level. Players that can handle the up-tempo game that we play!! My first post with the new setup!! WOOHOO First off I want to say how proud I am of my boys over the last 2 weekends they have went 7-2 in the East Substates 16s (4-0) & 17s (3-2).. Playing with only 7 players the last 3 games of the 16 substate!! What I have done is total all the points scored in the 15 games played to this point. So here is our scoring breakdown: Albert Harris- 12.9 Landon Thomas- 11.6 Trey Tindell- 10.9 Jeff Barnes- 9.1 Travis Sikes- 8.5 Elliot Bishop- 8.3 (One of the best Guard defenders in the state) Jonathon Jones- 8 Alan Asberry- 7.1 Jason Brock- 6 We are now preparing for another 3 weekend tourney stretch. Starting with the prestigious Tournament of Champions (held at Duke, UNC, and NC State), 17 state in Memphis, and 16 state in Memphis. Thank you to all our supporters!!

Herbie I am sorry I cannot help you with this.. I do not know that much about the 14/under... Have they not played all their substates? Sorry I can not be much of a help!! But I am sure someone out there knows what you are talking about!!!

Congratulations Breakers!!! Good luck this weekend! I look forward to the opportunity to play your squad next weekend.. Hopefully we will cross paths in finals.. Also the TN Thunder 17/under received a #1 seed in the Hoosier Shoot. Which is looking to be one of the best tourneys of the summer. I just read on their web site: Due to an overwhelming number of entries in the Junior and Senior-To-Be Divisions, and an unbelievable amount of calls from college coaches, we must cancel the Freshmen-To-Be Division. All freshmen teams entered will receive a full refund immediately. It has always been our goal to provide the highest quality basketball tournament in the country. To do so, we must stay loyal to our older age groups during the NCAA Open Evaluation Period for college coaches. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this change in the tournament. Charles I was there and they were asking me for your number!! I have my facts straight... Maybe you called after your first game was already over when they were still waiting on you too show up. Remember I was there... Charlie and Andy didnt know you were going to no show... How do I know this?? They ask me... So dont get your panties in wad.. I am sure you had a good reason to no show...

He didnt call to let anyone know he wasnt showing up either!!! That is why the Travelers had to play split squad games so teams would not miss their games... TN Thunder Elite was not going to be able to make their 12:30 so he call to let them know so they could get someone to fill his spot...

The TN Thunder SELECT went 4-0 this past weekend in the Smokey Mtn. Classic. Beating the St Louis Eagles (77-70 OT), TN Travelers (80-68), East Coast (79-57), TN Ballers (113-51). We had a different player lead us in scoring each game. Scoring Avg for the weekend: Trey Tindell- 12.7 Landon Thomas- 12 Albert Harris- 11.5 Elliot Bishop- 10 Jonathon Jones- 9.7 Jeff Barnes- 9.7 Travis Sikes- 8.5 Alan Asberry- 7.5 Jason Brock- 5.7 Our tourney scoring avg. was 87-61.
