  1. RD, I pick them this way.

    Riverdale The Coach + Transfers

    Cookeville- Helton and Company

    Blackman- Defense and returning players

    Lebanon- Icelyn and gang

    Siegel-Chemistry? and Defense

    White-Young and New coach

    Oakland???

    Warren ????

Riverdale Two good Transfers, Trouble in Post(Lost Clarke), very athletic, new Coach Maxwell

Cookeville, Helton will be a good player, two returning starters, Good coaching,

Blackman Great Defensively, good shooters, not big, good athletically

Lebanon- Elie, Elie and Elie. New Coach, Athletic, young and be good the last half of the year.

Siegel- Good Talent, good defense, Success will depend on chemistry, Biggest challenge, young but athletic.

    White, Young, athletic New coach

Oakland Good coaching but time to step up, athletic

Warren- not won a Distrrict game in a number of years, good effort, likely no improvement

    The District

Riverdale will easily be one or two in the District only being challenged by Cookeville and Blackman. Clarke lost from last year, but two transfers from Independence will make the difference.

Cookeville, Helton will be the main difference, has two other players that have played before. Quick guards that are sophmores. Will challenge Riverdale the whole year.

Blackman- Great Defensively, Good coaching with all of the right players except posts, good experience and outside shooting . could challeng Riverdale and Cookeville all year

lebanon, new coach, lost a number of seniors, Returns one of the top 3 players in the District.

Siegel Good guards, fast, lost many players from last year, Defense will be strong point. Athletic not a contender until the last half and could be very good at that point.

White lost a number of players, played a lot of players last year, new coach, no inside people, athletic.

Oakland, Good coaching staff, a challenge with talent, no motivation, Athletic needs something

Warren-last place with likely a better team than last year. last half challenger if then.

what are you talking about? white lost one player from last year. Have 6 seniors and 7 jrs returning. How you figure they are young pharis???????

  2. to bad we dont have a bracket for REBOUNDS i bet the smallest girl in the distirct would be in the top 5 and that is white co cash avg. around 9 rpg

Yea run&gun you are right. And also for steals and defense. Shutting players down. Like 85 talks alot about post players play . But the way this team is coached to pound it to the post they get all the credit. and none to the players that handle the pressure and get the ball down the court to them. and stop or slow the other teams shooters down. Only are credit the ones that score is all you read.

  3. On behalf of all the parents, grandparents, fans, players and former players, I would like to personally congratulate Coach Eades on reaching that tremendous milestone of 200 losses for your remarkable career here at Warren County. I know it must give you so much satisfaction to look around that Charlie Dalton gym at all those faces looking back at you with complete disdain.

Hey 14, I dont know much about the teams your coach has had before this year. But to be honest with you from ive seen she dont have much to work with on the team playing right now. esp coming off the bench. But i know it couldnt have been that way her entire career. (not having the talent).

What does it look like for the future of this team? Do they have any girls coming up to help out with who ever is coaching them?

  4. Well, our girls won by more this time{15 points} than last time{9 points}. Good job Warriorettes! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    Keep it going against Warren tomorrow night. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

We all can read between the lines 85. So what your trying to say is they done better without Roberts tonight. You think that lineup is the key to winning the rest of the games sparta has left 85? I think wilson did a great job esp rebounding. The other post players seem to just take off to go play offence. Wilson crashed the boards. She rebounded and they got to score, it worked. Good job girls. Keep it up. btw Cash had a great game too.

  5. Lets not be calling names out. That causes problems we don't need. Its ok to joke around. 95% of the time we assume wrong. And I believe dumptruck you just fell in that 95%.

    NOW LETS TALK ABOUT BASKETball

Mr Walton, it looks like you were exactly right. I assumed wrong on spartaman.

  6. theres that Sparta fan again!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> I agree with most everything that you just wrote, besides roberts being the key to our success. She is playing to her potential , or close to it right now and we're not where we want to be. I think the key is some of the younger players getting more involved and stepping up when our older (jr's/sr's) arent having a good night.

Come in there Mike....i was wondering how long it would take you to respond to 14. I knew you would be one of the first to do so.

  7. When Haley did finally clear his bench in the 4th quarter. I was amazed with the young talent he has on that bench. Probably starting next year White county girs are going to be a huge force to reckon with.

So bird...what you are saying is that when the Jr. class is gone. then Sparta might have a huge force? well i guess time will tell. If that was true then use that bench now in these tough games and not just these real easy ones.

  8. Outcoached lebanon is leading the whole way until there coach runs five new girls in , wc coaches adjust press and run off 8 straight points to tie ,there coach let us back in it.Haley and the coaches had a great plan they packed it in and controlled the tempo.Warriorette its called discipline if you think haley is tough you have not been around other practices or teams. He does a fine job and practices free throws plus has open gym all the time so your statements are just wrong plain and simple. He gives girls all the chances in the world to succeed and they are in most games bottom line is we havent had a post in a few years and its tough,we play hard nosed and compete just have to find a way to win.On a positve note Delaney has been a surprise she is getting better by the day is a good post defender!!!!Randolph is tough and will give some good minutes the rest of the year. The warriorettes are coming along good luck.Dumptruck each girl knows there role page daniels are spot set shooters thats what they are best at and cash and roberts are better off the dribble penetrating etc.Yslas can do a little of both the girls need to just play and step it up at end of games the coaches and girls remember it takes both are putting themselves in posistion to win just hasnt happened 4 them yet it will.

Ok B you win. youll get what you been wanting.

  9. This will be a coaching game. The winner will be the coach who uses the right strategy on the bench. The players who execute instructions the best will win for their team.

All i can say is typical wc basketball coaching for this game, just like last few years. TOOOO Conservative. The girls looked too scared to put up a shot. Hes got them second guessing shooting the ball. They dont know too fast break or slow it down, to shoot or to pass. If you do one or the other and he didnt like that or you didnt make the shot your coming out. This team looks so confused. Even fans are hollering for players to shoot when they are open.

  10. Mitchell doesn't need to blame the kids he didn't try to coach at all in the game sat on his butt and looked at his shoes all night, when your kids see that out of there Head coach what do you think there gonna do,right look at there shoes.Mitchell get of your can and at lease try to coach your kids, Mitchell lost it last year he's just doing it a little earlier this one. If something doesn't change and change fast were maybe a 500 club!!!!!!!!!!!

Now dont blame it on the coach. When these kids want to party and drink all night, its not the coaches falt. He cant baby sit them. If they would rather drink and party, then I dont blame coach M. in putting 5 different players on the floor just like he said he would do when talking on the radio after the game. Somethings got to give when the parents cant control them. I think that a couple have been in trouble already this season with that (drinking). So do what you got to do coach M. and stay with it even if you lose some games.

  11. The games last night were very likely the hardest fought ganes as a whole of the season. 7AAA has gotten to be a District that has found a way to win with defense and it has taken major efforts by some unlikely players offensively to take some on the road wins. 7AAA has become a very balanced District with some good play. While the snow possibly had some bearing on the frigid shooting it was great defensive play that kept the scores down.

it almsot felt like 7AAA Tournament play and it is about 1 and a half weeks before that happens and two District playdays to finish 5 of the " Scintilating 7" play days that has been the second half of the season. Yes, we are not thru quite yet and some great games still to be played. But more about that a little later.

    Siegel 41-White 36

Siegel was very concerned about the game with with a very tough White County that was hampered by and injury to one of its major players, Joni Sompson, who played like a wounded tigress but come up a little short 41-36. Playing White on the road is like going to a dentist and having a tooth pulled as you know it has to be done but you know, realize there will be pain in doing it. White scrapped and played hard and were tied with Siegel 28-28 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Only some great 3 point shooting by Allie Wright and a great defensive effort by Siegel allowed Siegel to come ahead in the fourth and win the game. it had to be one of the hardest fought games of the night. Wright led the Stars with 14 and Simpson with 9 for White.

    Riverdale 49

    Wilson 40.

Campbell Brandon was rocking when Lebanon come back after being down 15 at the half and were tied at 28 at the end of the third quarter. it was another hard nosed defensive battle by two defensive teams that tried very hard not to be beaten but Riverdale came back in the last quarter and won the game. bivins scored 21 for Riverdale and Lanning had 12. Brooks had 17 for Lebanon who arguably is finishing up the season as one of the most improved teams in the District. This was a great defensive battle.

    Cookeville 39

    Oakland 31

Cookeville came out with the win after the game being tied and the end of the third quarter. The game was a very hard nosed defensive battle and one that could have been won by either team. Again cookeville wound up outscoring Oakland again in the fourth quarter as Oakland seemed to be worn down again by a tremendous effort the first three quarters. Tara Davis led oakland with 15 points and Helton, the fine left hand post for Cookeville again led Cookeville with 18 points.

    Blackman53

    Warren 44

This might have been one of the best games of the night as here was two teams giving a great effort to not being at the bottom of 7AAA. they didn't play like that. Tukeea Hicks came up with one of her best games of the season and scored 17 points. It is thought if Hicks could have been more consistant and play like she has played in some games, blackman would have been a different team this season and still may be.

Warren Cpunty, playing an inspired game was only behing 25-22 at the half but was outscored 11-6 in the third and lost 53-44. it was a great game by Brooke Bowman with 4 threes and scoring 22 points.

WE are down now to the last two play days of the season along with some other great games scheduled to finish the season. This Week the Battle of the East occurs when Cookeville goes to White County and renews a great rivalry that will fill up the White county gym. It is the one that White county points to each year and will be a great contest. Lebanon takes it tough defense and travels to Siegel and plays the Stars. this game might likely be an overtime thriller as both teams have a lot at stake in this game. The premier game will be the game between Riverdale and Oakland and the last regular season game between the two teams and its high profiled player Lanning and Bivins for Riverdale and Davis and McCleary for Oakland. For those in the Boro, or anywhere for that matter, this will be a good one to see if you can get a ticket. So we are winding down the regular season, very few injuries, great scoring but here at the end, some of the best defense that has changed the outcome of a number of games.

Seems like you never even give anyone else any credit. In the white/siegel game there was a tie for high score for white. Also just to add, this white co. team will be much much better next year and should have more team play.
  12. I'm sure you don't like anyone saying this team is kind of weak since you have someone close to you that's playing, but I'm just stating facts. I agree with the your future statement. I think this years freshmen team has several good players that will contribute starting next year.

    Good luck tonight Warriorettes!

A 62 point win over warren co. tonight. Not bad for a so called "weak team " say 85 ?
  13. Warren has a chance, but it wouldn't be much of an upset. I'm a huge White Co. fan, but this is one of the weaker teams we've had in years. I wouldn't get too excited if Warren wins. Go Warriorettes!!!

85 you may be from white county, but im tired of reading about how weak this years team is. yes they may be a little younger then other teams but they will be a sleeper team in the end and will mess up a few teams plans. And then the next two yrs i know they will compete for if not lead the district. Thats all i have to say.

  14. The best freshman in my opion' is the Bowman girl. She can flat out play. The tide is about to change, our freshman girls are in the finals of the tournament!!

Best freshman or not , the freshman got it handed to them too in the finals by white county freshman on there on court by 21pts. And warren co didnt want to play white county where it should have been played if not at oakland but at the # 1 seed home. But instead white came down there and handed it to them by 21 pts. :thumb:
  15. Sorry don't mean to cause trouble, just asking if it's true. Hence the question. So is it a lie that she is being recruited to Jackson County? If you know, then just say so. Or does it have to be kept secret?

My nephew plays for Jackson County. As an almuni of Jackson County, it concerns me that we pull players in to the school to play ball for Coach Brown. It means very little to me that our girls have such a great team, when some major contibutors to their success don't even live in our community. Our boys would have a better team if most of them had not been recruited to Clay County.

So I do not mean to be rude or cause anyone problems, but these are my feelings about the topic.

    Muffin, I live in Cookeville.

Blondy this would not suprise me if she moved to JC and played because she plays for Brown in AAU as well. Brown has to do something to stay up with RBS,what better way then to try and get a player that he coaches in AAU.
