I'd really like to see someone beat Temple this year, but it is just not going to happen. Temple lost one player, point guard, last year and they have replaced the position with a talented underclassman. Back-to-back MVP for Skogen. It's pathetic that he is picked to go low D-III. I think the college level recruiting stinks!

Ferguson is the player! Props go out to his GF Ashanti! This girl is a trooper. I seen her at the York game, I think she was more upset then happy than anyone in the gym that night. It's time to step up your senior role about 2 notches and carry this team! I'll be there!

My boy Ferguson will dominate. I have taught him all he knows with a little help from Coach Kingston. Portland will come out with the Victory and represent Sumner Co in the state tourny this year along with Hendersonville. Ferguson should win MVP of region and a good prospect for MVP of state. BTW, who chooses these Mr. Basketball people anyway. They need to look at every team rather than just certain people. I think it stinks.

It's a given, Temple will repeeat this year in Single A. Can't anyone stop reigning MVP Skogven. All the other teams can only hope that Temple won't put the mercy rule before halftime.

8 vs. 5 Not good ods for Ownes and Company for RBS. I felt bad for my boy Meador. The refs were picking on him big time. This guy is going to be something for the bulldogs in the upcoming years. Possible Mr. Basketball. As for Celina, you buck stops here. First of all, Trousdale (representing District 8A!) gonna roll tonight in the championship all over CHS. Then the next prize for Celina is Temple. Just a little tid-bit... Temple won state last year esaily over Ezell and lost the point guard. You Mr. Basketball for single A, Jake Skogen, will dominate. It's that simple. Celina, nice run... but it's all downhill from here. As for Coach Owens, you did a tremendous job in leading you team to a great record. I look forward to watching some talented boys play for you in the future. Best of luck next year and you 'eagle' fans will be there cheering for the best.

Girls Consolation - Davidson Acad vs Portland 12-30-02 3:30pm Boys Consolation - Westmoreland vs East 12-30-02 5:00pm Girls Championship - Macon Co vs Smith Co 12-30-02 6:30 pm Boys Championship - Portland vs Smith Co 12-30-02 8:00 pm The girls consolation should be an easy win for Erin Frye and the Portland Pathers. The boys consolation features the Eagles outside game versus the Indians inside game. Steven Bonner and the Eagles should come out with the victory in this one if their defense plays up to Westmorelands standards. The girls championship should be a great game. The owletts are playing some great ball as of late. Kendra Baines has stepped up her senior role. If Macon Co doesn't come prepared for a dog fight, this game could get out of hand in a hurry. The first match-up between the two saw Macon Co run away with it. This will be a much better game with the tigers pulling it out in the fourth quarter. The boys championship sees two D-1 prospects from Portland, 6'7'' Brewer and 6'7'' Ferguson, against the outside / inside game from the owls. This looks to be a blow-out in the paper, but if Sleeper is playing up to standards, this could be a game. My prediction is Smith Co in an upset.

How can Corey Brewer be on the third team AA?? You have to be joking me. Tell me something that he has done the past two years. Has he led his team to anything past the first found of districts?? OK, the guy can dunk. Yeah for him!! I just think he needs to have some accomplishments before getting all this recognition. And how can he be a Major D1 prospect already. You have to be kidding me.

Juliet Christian I don't see Westmoreland having nearly as good as a season as last year. They have no experirence in playing the big game. The top three each have great players coming back. Van Buren will take the district pretty easily. And sorry MJCS, no hope for you!!
