  1. Turner and Musser are 1-1 this year. Bobby won 11-8 at the Slamfest and Chris won 10-9 in the G. P. West/Bruin finals in a GREAT match.
  2. I just received word from Gerry Altieri that the Grand Championships have been cancelled. They are looking to reschedule it for Feb. 2, the Saturday of the State Duals.
  3. Forrest has been rescheduled to be at Brentwood Tuesday along with Tullahoma. Haven't rescheduled CPA or Fairview yet, but it will be sometime next week as they are district matches.
  4. The matches tonight at Brentwood High vs. Forrest, Fairview and CPA are cancelled.
  5. Thanks for the complements and suggestions. By no means do we run a perfect tournament, so we're always looking to improve. One area that DEFINITELY WILL improve is the bathroom situation. I was not aware of there conditions and truly appologize for any inconvenience. We will have changing and bathrooms for the wrestlers and access to more bathrooms for the fans. I've thought a lot about the JV and freshmen tournaments. Combining them has come up, I just don't know how to do with the least amount of confusion. It would mean have 1 tournament going on between 2 gyms because of mat space. That's kind of a nightmare for coaches to have to keep up with. We'll work on it, though. What I would really like is feedback on the medal round. This was the first year we've done all the medal matches together. What'd you think, good or bad? Pictures will be up on the site soon, http://www.brentwoodwrestling.com/tournament/ including some GREAT shots for all you Masters fans out there.
  6. Johnson was 0.1 lbs. over on Saturday morning. I hope everyone who came to this year's tournament enjoyed the experience and got out of it what they needed. There were a lot of great matches and outstanding wrestlers. My thanks to all of our parents, Brad Fiscus and Rod Holliman for running the computers, Jarrod Ruez for being the computer geek that he is (I owe you for the coaches link, buddy), Louise Davis and Paul Ruez, Franklin High and FRA for mats, and McGavock for the use of the clocks. Most importantly, to all the teams that came, thank you and best of luck for the rest of the season. Joe Blair
  7. Updated results will be on the site in the morning. As of right now: Clarksville 65 Soddy 59 Cookeville 56.5 Franklin 53 Overton 48 Brentwood 45 Kenwood 43.5
  8. Freshmen and JV brackets will not be posted on the website. Too many changes and scratches take place. The schedule for JV and varsity will run pretty much the same. Freshmen usually ends around 2:00 on Saturday. On a personal note, I can't wait til Sunday.
  9. Thank you for the kind words, trackman. I hope we don't disappoint this weekend by not having a smooth tournament. As far as the website and brackets you really should thank my assistant and webmaster (computer geek), Jarrod Ruez and tournament director, Brad Fiscus. These guys have really taken a lot of the load off of me this year. Thanks, fellas.
  10. Brackets are up. www.brentwoodwrestling.com
  11. No, we had what we had. I would definitely not wrestle Smyrna without putting the best line-up I could out on the mat. At the time the guys we had were the best we could put out there. No excuses, they beat us. We weren't at full strength, but that doesn't matter. They scored more points than we did.
  12. That's the plan. This is our first time to try and put the info on the website, so we'll see how it goes.
  13. The seeding meeting is Wednesday night at 7:00. We'll try to have the brackets posted by Thursday.
  14. Yes, there are separate jv and freshmen divisions this weekend. Most of the teams coming are bringing everyone and entering in those divisions. Some extra additions are FRA in the freshmen and Father Ryan in the JV and freshmen. We like giving everybody a chance to get on the mat. Thanks for the complement on Bobby. I'll pass it along. We've been very pleased with him this season. He's definitely been a welcomed addition to the program.
  15. We're working on doing that. We should have brackets and results on www.brentwoodwrestling.com. Due to the holiday break it's not quite up to date right now, but hopefully we'll get back in the swing of things now that we're back in school.
  16. Antioch, Brentwood, Blackmon, Clarksville, Kenwood, McGavock, Northeast, Rossview, Ft. Campbell, Soddy Daisy, Overton, Smyrna, Franklin, Marshall Co., Tullahoma, East Lit., BGA, Montgomery Central, Cookeville, and Warren Co. will be in the varsity division. Wrestling starts at 6:00 on Friday and 9:00 on Saturday. Semifinals at 11:00. Coaches, there will be a 1 lb. allowance on Friday. I'm looking forward to seeing all the teams and great wrestlers. Come out and see the action. Joe Blair
