Coach Murrell is a good coach. He can coach any kid at any level. A bigger program would do well to get him.

Houston County has had some very good players and teams in the past. Coach L.C. Baggett is a great Coach and has won a ton of games there. I can remember the days of Wayne Tiller, Peter Frodden, the Cornwells and Lyles. Those guys could play. Late 80's they went AA and were in the Region Semis most years. Early 90's went to the class A final 4, with a Ramey running the point. I've got a lot of respect for that program past and present.

What do y'all think about coaches getting into players' personal business during the summer? Is it something they should stay out of? Example, if a coach finds out about a player doing something over the summer, should he go and start digging deeper trying to find ou whether or not it's really true, and then go "tattle" to the player's parents if it is? Or should the coach just let it be and not try to stir things up? Personally (in my opinion) I think it's none of the coach's business what a player does over the summer, and he shouldn't start being nosey trying to find these things out. What does everyone else think about this subject?
If that is your opinion, you obviously do not know much about coaching. The coach should always do what is in the best interest of his/her players.

Emmy is just an 8th grader, she is not on the high school team yet. They do have five returning, basically all were starters at one time. I hope they can improve over this summer as much as we did over the last two.
I meant Ali Franks.

Summertown girls will be as good as anyone in class A this year. They have 5 kids returning that have a tremendous amount of experience. (Britney Lovett, Adria Matney, Meagan Corbin, Rachael Meek, and Carrie Meek). There are several that will give good minutes off the bench in Bennon Adcock, Tucker girl that is a transfer from Lawrence County H.S., and three good freshman in Beth Long, Mallory Scott, Emmy Franks.
Coach Willard is a good a coach as there is in the state. They will always play hard, be well prepare, and have a great chance to get to Murfreesboro.

From what I've gathered from his dad, I think he is on some sort of scholarship and will be playing for Middle.

early to be predicting the MR Basketball award but there are
alot of great players out there who are capable of getting it.as in players like jake skogen from Temple.rocky nickels
from Hancock.dane strayhorn from Halls.rusty chambers from unaka.and possibly ryan wadley from temple.these are just players i have seen play before from aau games and summer camps.
I think at this point Jake Skogen is the obvious choice.

I heard that 2 of Summertown's 3 hits in the last game were by freshman phenoms Beth Long and Mallory Scott. Those kids will find ways to win. Summertown had good days ahead. Way to get after that softball girls!
