Funman, I have told you all I could about midstate. I really am not sure on who does it at the Tennessean. For allstate, I would guess that all the papers come together. Im really not sure. Sorry I couldnt help

Its the newspapers mainly. The coaches send in two-three players from there team for midstate. Players who make all-state mainly come from teams that made it to the state tourny.

Take the Overton game for instance, Overton will kill you on the offense is you put in the wrong pitcher. They cant hit power pitchers though, which Amber is, and she struck out 19. If I did have to make a descion on who to pitch, I would be comfortable with both on the mound.

Well, I have to say, even though they didnt make it to the state tourny, Amber Steen has to be rated highly. in 11 games pitched, she only gave up 1 run, which was against Overton in the Regionals. She also recorded 5 no hitters. Over the 11 games played, she struckout 143, which is an average of 13 a game. She should be rated in the top 10 in the state.

Chigger, She might be good, but shes not totally devouted to softball. If she is the catcher of the future, she should be devouted to the game, and not to other things, such as basketball. She quits teams when she feels like she needs to play other sports. Sorry if this is out of line, but it is the truth. If she devouted herself more, then maybe....

Hendersonville tournys usually have good umps. Dave Lemarb has one of the best staffs in the state. This time, they didnt live up to there reputation. Some of them need to go back to umping school!

I agree with you. The Cougars had a great season and I give them credit, but the teams they played beat themselves. Overall, I think Maryville should have won that game. If not them, Soddy Daisy.

There is one in Manchester and in Crossville, which is next weekend. Those are the only ones I can think of of the top of my head

I was at that tourny and I have to say, the games I watched were poorly umpired. They were very inconsistent. For example, in the first inning, a line drive was hit to third an fell foul by about 3 feet. The ump thought the third baseman touched it, which she didnt, and that allowed 2 runs which started a 6 run first inning by the Sudden Rage. Also, the strikezones for the pitchers were very hard to find. An ump called a strike for a pitch that hit the plate before it got to the catcher!! I have seen much better umpireing then this!

I disagree with you Chigger about Amber Warren. Dont get me wrong, she is good, but not the catcher of the future. She still has a few things to learn.

What about Savanna Roberts from Hunters Lane? She has one of the best bats in District 12-AAA and an amazing arm. Only a freshman, she will be one of the best in the region after she matures with experience.
