i have to say josh helton from mt. juliet should be high on the list for mr. basketball. in the two games this year he has averaged 24 points got his team in the game by dishing out 7 assists per game.

how does shelbyville look early in the season. who is there go to man this year

mj basketball this year is a young team. so im not understanding bout regulars playing into the 4th quarter. with 4 sophomore a freshman and 2 juniors this is a very young team. i believe the young players need to get some experience where ever they can get it. mj basketball doesnt play freshmen right away usually they gradually work them in to varasity. so i believe coach fryer is an excellent coach and what he does seems to work for him and his program. so if he doesnt play freshmen he has a reason. considering he did go 70-8 of the last couple of years.

does anyone have any thoughts about the second day of the shelbyville playday. who shined over everyone. which players played well and left an impression.

mt. juliet beat brentwood academy in the middle to late january as well. both times mj was trailing at the half. mt. juliet ended up in the region semi-finals where they just seemed to run out of gas. its amazing though how people think they are so good, to me i just think the better team won and it was the team who wanted it more. the game in january was on a saturday. mj was getting beat by double digits at the start of the 4th quarter. and came back and won. so the middle of the road team upended the state champions not once but twice beating them at ba and mj respectively

i believe an early test for this shelbyville team is on dec. 2 when this team goes to mt. juliet. should be an exciting and packed gym. these two teams played each other in state tournament last year when shelbyville beat them. it was a close game until shelbyville just blew them out in the 2nd half. should be an exciting game game time is the 2nd of dec at 630 at mt. juliet

i believe alysha clark from mt. juliet should be high on the list. her first year in tennessee basketball she averaged a double double through the season if im not mistaking. but thats fine if any of you dont rank her high by the end of the season she will be a highly talked bout player.

eddrock i couldnt agree with you anymore. i believe mt. juliet and hendersonville will be the top two teams with central coming in third. it should be an outstanding year of basketball in region 5 with mj, hendersonville, henry county and many others. good luck to the bears of mj

what is the record for most losses at a school before that team won their first one. and what is the overall record for losses in a row.

the bears scrimmaged farragut today. from what i saw i didnt stay for the whole time but it looked like an even match. the bears defensive line had their way with farraguts offensive line in linemen drills before the scrimmage. seemed like farragut was strong on the defensive in as well. mj will have a great running back this year and a strong armed quarterback. hope they do well this year against the metro school district teams.

u might be right there they were coming on strong in the sportsbell classic. though it is my thinking that when they played farragut that day it was their 4th game in two days. i believe if our aces were playin in that game it would have been a very very good ballgame. we will never know though in difference. i mean your right we did get beat 10-0 but when u play 4 games in less then 2 days u would probably be dead from playing when u go up against a very very strong team in farragut.

i congratulate coach purvis and the rest of the bears on a strong showing coming into state. and i hope for the best for the 2004 season.

i see mt. juliet gets no love. i believe they beat hendersonville many times this year and mt. juliet split with riverdale. i see why people dawgs them all the time. they had great pitching this year in the best left hander and right hander in their district. they had hill who blossomed as the year progressed too also seger and the shao brothers. they just hit memphis at the wrong time during their season. i still think they could have beat any team there they just hit a slump that started in district play and cared over to the spring fling.

the game against farragut was a fluke. the bears had played 2 or 3 games that day before they played farragut. mj was down to their jv pitchers. we had them pretty good until the fourth when their team started hitting JV PITCHING. so the 10-0 score is really not a fair bet.

i believe the brackets were done to the best of the tssaa's ability. if the teams like farragut hendersonville houston county and riverdale were on the other side of the bracket that teams fans would be happy. the one thing i got to say is watch out for the dark horse mt. juliet. i promise u they will surprise a lot of people in the aaa state championship. also i think they got a good seed bc mj has beaten hendersonville and riverdale already this year. so they diserve a good place in the bracket.

the player who pitched for mj last night against hendersonville was no other the matt smith. number 10 is a senior.

dickson county doesnt play hville they play mt juliet in dickson county as we speak

what is peoples views of the game for the district title tomorrow and a bye to regions.

was the reason for josh helton to drop so low was the knee injury he suffered during the preseason and i like how shawn sims moved up and i think by this time next year julian hayes will be up there as a top senior

i think the game will be one for the ages. it will be close the whole game, i think. i think mt juliet will over come the pressure at first bc they start slow sometimes. their 3s have been off but the inside outside game will come to gether and work

i think its an amazing accomplishment for the team. in preseason the team was considered a rebuilding team. i believe they rebuilded and rebuilded they did. i have to say alysha clark is a beast down in the low block. she rebounds and scores. i believe she should be up for at least all mid-state if not all state team. she can flat out play. ill be there saturday at game cheering on her and the rest of the bears and will follow them to state. good luck bears and congratulatins on beating beech three times in a row

oh there is one team that doesnt use language on the court and that is the boys team of mt juliet. if we get caught cussing then we have to run for it. so we dont

congratulations to gallatin on a great game tonight against mt juliet. they beat mt juliet in the first 4 minutes of the game and never looked back. i just want to thank all the people who supported the bears this season and we went further then most people thought. the only people who thought we should have gone further are the 17 people in the locker room. i hope the team will pick up were this years group left off and that is to qualify for the state tourney next year
