  1. Franklin HS lost for the third time this season to Overton 4-0. Centennials year is over. Franklin HS plays Ravenwood at 4p.
  2. Any word on the McGavock Stradford score?
  3. Final score of the Overton vs Ravenwood game was 6-3 Overton winning. Steven Sutter pitched a good game for Overton. Matt Cole pitched for Ravenwood. They both kept the score low. 3-1 ravewood going into the bottom of the 5th. That's when Overton's shotstop Steven Langston lead of with a single center field he stritched into a double. Overton's bats came alive and they score 5 runs in that inning. Branden Vernon (catcher) stood out and had a big night at the plate for Overton. He had three base hits and a couple were extra base hits. He's had a solid year for Overton. Overton had some brakes that went their way that changed the game too. Ravenwood does not have the most talent defence. Overton moves on to play Franklin HS at 7:00. Franklin defeated Centennial 11-2. Centennial vs Ravenwood at 4:00. All games are tonight at Overton HS.
  4. Centennial VS Franklin Monday 4:00 at Overton HS.
  5. Maybe they 12th district is cancelled.
  6. Anyone out there in the 12AAA?
  7. The Franklin / Hillsboro game was not a give me for Franklin. Franklin scored first with a run in the bottom of the first. Hillsboro score 2 un-anwsered runs in the 2nd and again in the 4th inn. Hillsboro was executing sacrifice bunts, squeeze bunts and they earn every run they scored. The score was 4-1 Hillsboro going into the bottom of the sixth. Hillsboro faceed the middl of Franklins batting order and the bats for Franklin exploded. In the bottom of the 6th Franklin scored 10 runs on Hillsboro before they knew what hit them. Before this happened, Hillsboro played flawlessly and made ever play up to that point. Early in the game, Franklin hit the ball hard right at Hillsboro but, as soon as Hillsboro's players had to move more than two steps for the ball then the wheels flew off for Hillboro. Once Franklin got on base, there team hitting and speed proved to be too much for Hillsboro to hold down.
  8. In the play-in games Thursday night, Ravenwood defeated Independence and Brentwood defeated Hillwood. Those two winners earned their way into the first round of the district tournament tonight. The four single elimination matchups will be: Brentwood at Overton Ravenwood at Hickman County Hillsboro at Franklin Centennial at Spring Hill Tonight's four winners will advance to the double elimination round beginning on Monday.
  9. Overtons had an incredible winning streak a of late. My guess is that Overton will win the 11AAA district tourney this year. After the district tourney they'll pay the second place team from district 12AAA. The 12AAA district is young and pitching is down this year in that district, but you can never take those games too lightly. Once they get to the sectionals they probably face teams with as much or more depth as what they have. As a whole the 11AAA district teams are young this year with Overton being the exception and the competitions is very week. Franklin had two freshman and a sophomore starting on the varsity and they gave Overton some pretty good games during the regular season. I hope Overton plays to there potential and does not have a let down. Good luck to all the teams.
  10. Does anyone know the 12AAA final standings?
  11. What are the standings for this district? Antioch High School Glencliff High School Hunters Lane High School Maplewood High School McGavock High School Pearl Cohn High School Stratford High School Whites Creek High School
  12. Did Overton HS win over Centennial Monday evening?
  13. You guys played many games. Are you A, AA, AAA. It makes alittle bit of difference too if the pitching they see can break a window.
  14. 11th district teams, Franklin High School is averaging over 10 runs per game this season. Overton High School has a good hitting team too. They have batters 1 through 9 that can take you deep.
  15. Franklin Senior - Caleb Joseph has 5 or 6 HR's and hitting over .500. Pro scouts are hot on his trail. Has great hands, a great arm no one trys to steal on him and this is his first year to catch since 7th or 8th grade.
  16. [ I think he's talking about his batting average guys, but exodus20:15 forgot to add a zero after the '1.6' and the decimal is in the wrong place. Good arm, but no stick.
  17. Ravenwood HS hosts Franklin High School at Greer Stadium tonight (7 pm 4/19). Maybe it would be best to answer this question tomorrow. Franklin HS baseball
  18. Brentwood High School. All you've got to do is look at the head coach and you'll be able to tell that he's an expert at small ball.
  19. If I'm not mistaken, if he wants to play pro ball (and I assume only) he's at an age where he is draft able no matter whether he's in HS school or not. Here is what I call a reality check... Look at his situation hypothetically. Still being the player he is today as a given, if he did not have the "in" at UT that he does and if Farragut had had pitching and hitting like they do this year the passed two years would you recommend the same thing for this young man? My guess is it would never cross his mind if either one of these things were not true. If the answer is yes and he still would choose to move on, then I'd have to say good luck and that reality begins for sure in a few years. Daddy won't be able to draft him too.
  20. I saw Greenbrier play McGavock and Tom Wright (a slightly above average pitcher) handled Daniel Pryne but he could have had a bad night. I've watched Taylor Scott play baseball over the last several years and he is reaping what he has sown. Does anyone know where he's going to school on scholarship next year?
  21. And to add to the last post he can probably read well, because the hand writing on the wall most likely reads that he will not lead Farragut HS to any other State Championships. I know several kids this year, who are 19. Obviously they were held back a year and this is not that uncommon. The difference is that they would have never imagined making this kind of move and miss there senior year.
  22. Many schools choose to go Florida during their Spring Break. Did you see any MLB Spring Training games? How did your teams do, were there any scouts at the games, and what was the best part of the trip?
  23. I'll take the RBI's guy over average guy. If you can have both then you've really got something. Some of these small school districts have very little pitching and so batting averages are going to be inflated plus it still early. There are plenty of players in the Middle TN area that hit for average against average pitching but when they face pitchers with better stuff then there usually toast. Average right now mean little. Wait a couple more weeks and you'll start to see the cream risen to the top.
  24. This two post are very profound and "yes" to your last point, I have heard his fastball's hitting 88 mph now. WOW
