Hope the weather holds out. At Franklin HS we understand anytime you go against Riverdale HS you'd better be prepared to play 7 innings. Franklin's not taking Riverdale or anyone in Murfreesboro lightly. Last year or before performances in the state tournament mean nothing. Buddy has earned his respect but on the other hand Brent Alumbaugh, Franklin HS head coach can coach with the best of them and is earning his respect. Coach Alumbaugh's young and has coached high school baseball for only four years. He has lead Franklin HS to the State tournament the last two years. With that stated, Franklin HS does not have an in-door practice facility or an in-door or out-door batting cage even. They share locker rooms with an un-mentionable spring sport. Their ball field is nice, well kept field and Coach Alumbaugh makes the best of his situation. He also has two of the best young coaches he could have working with him. They are all determined and hard working young coaches. Their players reflect that. I would love to see the Williamson County school's be allowed to raise funds to build the facilities that Rutherford County schools are allowed. Good luck to all and play hard.

LCborn, You are so right in everyone of your posts from what I read. Very Good. Reading this thread makes me sad but on the other hand I feel blessed. There are some coaches out there that have no business coaching but their are some great ones out their too. The truth is, that coaches have an awesome responsiblity. The coaches (Brown and Dugan) I played for took no crap off anyone. The childs and parents knew it and I pitty the person that tried to test them. They expected curtain thing form us and if we did well we were expect to keep on improving if not we heard about it. The key was the principles/college president honored the head coaches and had their backs. feel for the coaches that don't. If you are a HS coach out there and you don't set "documented" bounderies to those associated with your team, then don't expect anything. This is also true, we always reap exactly what you sow and your team is a reflection of the coach. Like it or not those thing are forever true.

So, Riverdale over Franklin? And Farragut over Ravenwood?

Good game...Franklin did win 7-5. Pitchers had a rough night or Beech. I was impressed with McAdams. Good luck to him next year at my old school and the other seniors from Beech as well. Lot of people in a small space there at Beech. Franklin HS leftfield said, the earplugs worked like a charm:) Ooops Big Guy, It's ok to differ. I think you would agree though that some folks think taunting is ok but that doesn't make it so. (I'm talking about when the players do it to each other) Umpires usually do not stop games to warn coaches just for celebrating and making a lot of "noise" in the dugouts. I'm just glad the umpire made at least one good call, warned the coaches and no one was hit by a pitch in retaliation. I was not upset about cheering after the game. There are a lot of teams that are not uses to winning big games. Look, Friday evening both Ravenwood and Franklin won and they deserved to get loud and celebrate for now. Going to the State tournament is awesome and maybe district 11aaa's two teams will meet in the finals

Matt hit it well. He's a favorite and a great kid, but with two outs and Franklin committed an error or two that inning before he came to the plate. That doesn't take anything away from him but he should have not gotten to bat that inning. Franklin committed 4 errors (timely for Ravenwood) and true all the runs were manufactured by Ravenwood but statistically they were un-earned.

"How can you say that Ravenwood forgot which game counted? They have PJ Francescon throwing tonight - the same guy that beat Overton last week and McGavock on Monday. " PJ is one of the best in Middle Tn. but then again that's really not saying that much. Out side of Goodenow, Hill and Mikey who else is there? It not that hard to state that Ravenwood cheered like a girls softball team that won there first game, because that what they did. Tonights game is to get to the big dance...and also I can't believe you would mention McGavock. They were not very good (enough said) and face it, Overton was a shadow of what they were last year. Ravenwood had 7 unearned run against Franklin HS. Probably will not happen again against MJ.

There are several middle schools in nashville area that have a bigger field. 305' down the lines and 368' in center is small to below average for sure in size.

7:00 pm is what I hear. Prediction: Slightly over case 30% chance of rain. Beech is surprised that the 11th district has more than one pitcher and Ravenwood forgot which game really counted.
