I have noticed that the AA and A teams from that area are almost always good. Livingston, York, Celina, Clarkrange, Jackson Co, Franklin Road, Donelson, Moore, Giles, etc... Why is that? :confused: :confused: Is the coaching that much better? Do they play better competition? Good AAU programs? Stay in the gym because there is nothing else to do? More dedicated kids? Watching Livingston and Clarkrange play last night...Wow just a different brand of ball. Especially Livingston. Just curious.

They played in the Dale Hollow Tournament in Pickett Co. After the game, they came to scout and see what they could be up against on down the line. It's pretty awesome to have a group of girls, who instead of driving to Nashville to a Mall, wanting to watch good basketball as a team. Having only 2 seniors, they have a lot to learn and last night's games really opened their eyes. [Edited by osubrutus on 12-29-02 7:21A]

You should have been at the Pickett Co. Tournament!! Talk about inconsistent...I've noticed that for some reason, you can reach across a players body and steal the ball, but if you bump in to them it is a hand check foul. Also, at Livingston, I actually heard the officials tell the players to go straight up, don't hold, and believe it or not to box out! It was like they were helping to coach on the floor. Oh well, back to the regular season Friday.

Does anyone know where you can find an out-of-state Christmas Tournament list for next year??? Florida would be nice. Doesn't anyone know of a Website to find a Christmas or Thanksgiving Tournament?????????????/ :confused: [Edited by osubrutus on 12-29-02 9:41P]

I saw the game before. With the fan throwing a cup on the floor and having to be removed from the gym. Looked like to me the 1-3-1 Defense was lacking. East blew them out!!

Coastal Carolina is a joke!! The get you down there because of the beach, but the food and officiating is terrible. North Carolina is by far the best. Great food, college & high school officials. If your coming from TN you need to play up a class because the lower class teams from other states are terrible. UNC-Greensboro also runs a good camp. All gyms with A/C.

Learn to handle the press and play defense. And if you did see the game, you would know that midway through the 3rd quarter, the Lady Eagles quit. No Heart! It didn't seem to bother them either. Coggins and another player were laughing and joking around with guys from Unaka, right behind the Unaka bench.

Is Harriman that good or is the competition down in that area? Compare this year's team with Reaganne Wright, Sara Stevens, Mindy Purdy, etc...

You are right about Unaka. Except, I think they will get there, this year. All players are back from last year's Sub-State team and they are only getting better(3-0, this year). Cloudland lost a Hall of Fame game to a young Sullivan Central team and losing Hughes hurt. Not just in performance related things but as a leader.
