We were in the 18u division. There were no games played Saturday in this group because the bottom fell out about 30 min. before start time. We and the team we were playing only got to play 1 full game & just got in the 3rd inning when the storm came Sunday. The championship game was only the 2nd game for both undefeated teams. They did honor the tickets bought Sat. on Sunday, but the people who bought the $10 passes Saturday lost $5 because their teams didn't play that day. As far as I know, none of these teams got any compensation for the rain out. As for the umpires, I don't think they should get full price for games they don't call either for weather or forfeits. I was an Area Referee in AYSO soccer for 10 years and didn't get paid anything because it is an all volunteer program. I did it for the kids, and hated to have to quit because of a bad knee. I know some of the umps may need the extra money (who doesn't) and they have spent time & money to show up, but you shouldn't get paid full price for doing nothing.
