He is posting crazy stuff. This last one doesn’t even make any sense lol.

He is either losing his mind or stuck in quarantine and like you said really bored.

    :popcorneater:

He’s got a screw loose I’m afraid. Not all there! And/or the most annoying troll ever! Certainly knows nothing about Tennessee high school football. Zero.

I was not sure since his post stated "the Superintendent and I". He seems to be an authority on every thread of this website.

“The superintendent and I believe the principal”. That was what I said. It had zero to do with me. I was simply relaying the story I read in the paper. I am not an authority...just a passionate Tennessee high school football fan with strong opinions and I enjoy researching/keeping tabs what all is going on in the game.

Wouldn't it be feasible to have the championship game on 12/12 or 12/19 if there's a positive since the state championship games are the last ones anyway? Tech doesn't play until 2021.

I had hoped that they would do that before the season to build in extra weeks before the playoffs to get games played. They made their decision to keep it as is and I can’t say it surprised me. They are a very status quo organization that does not like to adjust or change much of anything. Not a lot of vision or forward thinking unfortunately.

Stewarts Creek season is over. Will Antioch be in playoffs? Overton season is over and Antioch beat McGavock.

It seems the answer is no. They will just remove the teams that are not playing from their spot. Everyone else will remain in their spot. If you don’t have an opponent, you get a bye. I don’t necessarily agree with it because I think they should try to allow everyone possible to play a game in Round 1 (especially this wild and crazy year!) and giving random byes is unfair and silly.

I believe that if FC were to win, that FC and Page would be tied for third in the Region at 2-3.  If that were to happen, Page would be 4th.  This imagines that Columbia doesn’t beat Shelbyville.

That is correct! I knew that and definitely botched it! If FC pulls the upset, they will be 3rd and Page 4th, assuming Columbia doesn’t win.

  6. Yeah that was announced earlier in the week. Lincoln County was sniped by contact tracing. Their season is over. If Franklin County pulls the massive upset over Page, they get the 4 seed. Otherwise, Columbia gets the 4 seed and gets the great reward of traveling to Beech for a beat down next week.

That’s bad news for Oakland and most likely the contract tracing will effect their team. Also, since the story is in the paper it will be almost impossible to get a pass to play the rest of the season. Several other schools have had this happen and had to forfeit the rest of their seasons. Just ask, region champ Dekalb Co.

Incorrect. The superintendent and I believe the principal have already explained that the football team will not be effected. Teams that have virtual classes are allowed to play all over the state. They stated the shutdown at Oakland High School is due to a big shortage in substitute teachers.

I was talking about them being a way better team then Spring Hill. And I agree that it will be a challenge. Todays game is a spread it out kind of game with a lot of finesse and WC goes against that by lining up and coming at teams and it seems that they have a hard time with that because they don't see it week in and week out. That is their chance

They are way better than Spring Hill but obviously so is Mt. Juliet. That game ended early in the 4th due to a serious injury. Probably would have been 42-0. I don’t disagree that WC can be very competitive, but winning on the road there in the playoffs will be a tough deal.

  9. 1 minute ago, Tata said:

Yes, and I hope it is Mount Juliet because I think they are ripe for the picking. They lost a lot of players to Green Hill and they are having a hard time adjusting. They have had some decent wins, but none that really gets your attention. They beat Spring Hill 28-0 and I truly believe that WC is way better than them. There's hope in that game if it happens.

That was a first half score due to weather I believe. I can promise you one thing...WC is not a way better team than them. Not by a long shot. At best, it will be a competitive game. At best. But winning at either place will be very difficult. Both have strong traditional programs and are annual playoff teams that usually advance. Major league challenge to say the least.

I believe in Warren Co, but I kind of got my hand slapped last week vs Riverdale. It hard to say out loud, but I think this week is an uphill climb for WC. WC played great last year in the first half and rammed it down Oakland's throat. For that reason I don't believe Coach Kreasy will let that happen again this year. Oakland will be ready for the power game and that's not good for WC. Warren Co will finish 3rd and win a first round playoff game on the road.

You think they will beat Hendersonville or Mount Juliet on the road? Huge uphill climb there!

5 seniors and 4 underclassmen suspended Friday night vs Page, refs called out 3 last Friday so the team self imposed suspensions on 6 others

Ref ejected 4 FC players and 3 Shelbyville players. So 5 additional. Shelbyville will have additional as well.

How does this effect the game?

Check out this article from Daily News Journal:

Oakland High goes into 3-day quarantine beginning Thursday, moving to distance learning

    https://www.dnj.com/story/news/2020/10/28/oakland-high-quarantine-covid-19-teachers-students-distance-learning-rutherford-county/6059044002/

It should not affect the game at all unless their team has been hit with positive cases and contact tracing. I have not heard anything about the team itself being hit or being forced to shut down by the health department.

So what coach was quarantined? Can't see 16 players affected and not a coach.

Not sure on coaches, but again video was reviewed and the health department decides. It’s not up to anyone else. Every situation is different and health department decisions vary per situation based on what they see. It’s crazy stuff and very subjective. Government control has taken over. If we are not careful, we will be a society of a bunch of gullible sheep, blindly obeying government protocols and nutty policies.

Prime example is Dekalb County who is a strong contender in 4A who had a team outbreak and shut down for 2 weeks, unfortunately this includes the first round of the playoffs! Shelbyville returns to play 1 week later with 16 quarantined? Must be a county by county decision??

Nope not true whatsoever. This all started the day of their game at Cleveland. They were not allowed to play Summit. Two weeks expired last Friday night. All 16 missed two games. Simple math.

  15. Just now, workinprogress said:

You said 16 were under quarantine. How come the entire team was not?

Because the health department decides! They only had one or two positive tests total. The health department, since they are smarter and wiser than everyone, they review video and make silly decisions on who might have been exposed and who was not exposed. It’s not up to anyone else. This ridiculousness is going on all over the state. They chose to quarantine 14 or 15 non-positive kids for 2 weeks. The clock has now expired. If it was up to common sense people, after showing no symptoms for 4 or 5 days and are negative with no symptoms, then they should be fully released to play. It’s an insane process and ruining kids’ lives all over.

  16. 4 minutes ago, workinprogress said:

Appreciate the honesty. If 16 were contact traced how were the others even allowed to play? Was it a position group?

That’s your great health department rules. They are making the rules. They review video and tell who has been exposed and who hasn’t! It’s utter ridiculousness! Pure insanity.

  17. 1 minute ago, workinprogress said:

What conspiracy theory. Is there a video or not. If not don't you find that at least a little odd? And how can you promise me the TSSAA has all the information? Are you with the TSSAA? Did you take all the evidence to TSSAA yourself? Maybe the benches didn't clear but did players not on the field when it started even step one foot on the field?

And finally, in other similar cases not every player was involved but still had a punishment. It happens all the time. It's a team sport. Is it fair that if a team finds out they played an ineligible player unknowingly that the entire team is punished by a loss?

There are punishments. Many of them. As for the video, I’m not entirely sure if everything was picked up. It’s unclear what can be seen too.

i have heard all week that Shelbyville had 16 in quarantine and has forfeited the game the week before, they obviously had a team Covid problem, why was the game even played? I would believe that when the FC coaching staff found out they had 16 in quarantine they had the same questions, that could have possibly be why there seemed to be some anger issues during the entire game that brewed up into the scuffle, just my opinion....

What does that even mean? 16 were in quarantine because of our awesome health department protocols! Contact tracing chaos. Period. Everyone else played. What’s the question?
