  1. Still don’t agree that anyone is fighting. It’s just a good discussion about what will happen. It’s our human fascination with trying to figure out the future, and nothing brings everyone together like football. It’s as simple as that.
  2. Dyer County is one of those schools all by itself and it has to be placed in a region obviously. That’s the closest region geographically. In addition, it’s only one trip on one night in a two-year cycle. Not a big deal whatsoever.
  3. Yes and that’s likely where they will send them.
  4. Let’s try this...who knows what they will do in the end though??
  5. This could be fairly close to what 6A may look like...after further research and organization.
  6. Station Camp probably in the first region. White County in the second one maybe or in with the Chattanooga schools, which the TSSAA has done before. Assuming that White County will ask to be put back in a region? Remember, they backed out the last two years and played as an independent without a region affiliation.
  7. Will they be 6A right out of the gates? Name of the school?
  8. I’ve got the following estimation: 1. Dobyns-Bennett, Science Hill, Morristown-East, Jefferson County 2. Bearden, Farragut, Hardin Valley, Maryville, William Blount, Bradley Central, Cleveland 3. Cookeville, Warren County, Lebanon, Gallatin, Hendersonville, Beech 4. Coffee County, Shelbyville, Riverdale, Blackman, Rockvale, Oakland, Siegel 5. Smyrna, Stewarts Creek, LaVergne, Cane Ridge, Antioch 6. Summit, Independence, Centennial, Franklin, Ravenwood, Brentwood 7. Dickson County, West Creek, Clarksville, Rossview, McGavock, Overton 8. Cordova, Arlington, Bartlett, Houston, Germantown, White Station, Collierville, Whitehaven
  9. Station Camp, Mt. Juliet and Wilson Central are three from the midstate that are dropping I think. The others may be from other parts of the state...Heritage, Morristown West and McMinn County.
  10. Summit will likely go in the region with the Williamson County schools. Shelbyville and possibly Coffee County may go in a region with five Rutherford County schools, minus Stewarts Creek, Smyrna and LaVergne
  11. 1,050-1,100ish for the 4A-5A cutoff
  12. They are not as good as they were last year. They play in a weak region too. Most importantly, they are 4A!!! Any 6A team should have a big advantage in depth against a much smaller school. You don’t get “brownie points” for playing and defeating them unfortunately, especially when most other 6A teams are scheduling other power 6A and 5A programs for non-region games. It’s a weak non-region schedule, but it’s understandable with the history of the program. It’s just the truth, not the worst thing in the world either.
  13. That’s basically what I got too. We’re on the exact same page!
  14. Somewhere just below 1,500..maybe 1,475 or so...I’ve run through the numbers this morning. It’s all an educated guess until the BOC meeting next month obviously.
  15. It should be around 50 teams per class. I was wrong about Shelbyville by the way. It seems there has been some confusion with the virtual aspect. For now, Summit and Shelbyville looks to both be heading to 6A.
  16. It’s a prediction, not a definitive proclamation. So be it. As I’ve said 8-2 would be fantastic for one season at WC. Then, it will be about the playoffs after that. Now, let’s all be honest and look at their schedule too...it’s only fair. They played DeKalb Co., Cannon Co., and Lawrence Co. out of region. Could not be an easier schedule across the state for a 6A school. And Blackman and Cookeville are both down in this particular year, so everything came together perfectly for this one season and good for them! Keeping that program rolling moving forward will still be a huge challenge.
  17. Not sure what you mean...”when to five up”?? Is Warren County forfeiting for COVID next week? It’s listed on the schedule that way
  18. Haven’t heard anything about this...and why would it already be announced more than a week away? Makes no sense.
  19. If they do that, they need to make a decision and let the coaches know then. That would be a massive thing to put off, especially as coaches are preparing to start scheduling.
  20. I would think the TSSAA Board of Control will figure it out in a fair way. There is too much at stake to not do so when reclassifying for a 4-year cycle. And I’m not one to defend them at all in many instances! In this case, I would think they’ll be on top of everything fully.
  21. A) I don’t know how many districts we are dealing with...I don’t think it’s many. B ) At some point, like any other year, we have to trust the principals, administrations, and staff. It would be a major coverup for all of them to lie and, if they decided to, they should be hammered with long term penalties.
