  1. You can’t now obviously. The argument I was making was when metro was released all those regions should have been mandated to play all their region games even if it needed to replace a non-region game down the stretch. That did not happen. Gallatin, for instance, played Collierville, Henry County, Wilson Central, and Hendersonville in that stretch and will not play Hillwood or Hillsboro, easily two of the top four teams in that region. They will only play Beech. If the TSSAA would have mandated those region games and then there was COVID craziness (like the Shelbyville situation) then oh well...at that point they would have done everything they could. However, they did not do everything they could unfortunately.
  2. Started before the game at Cleveland for most of them but still will miss some guys
  3. Again, we disagree. I understand the Gallatin point of view. It positively impacts them. The TSSAA should have mandated all region games be played at all costs. Period. Gallatin is going to be the biggest beneficiary of this in every way possible. So, with all due respect, an opinion on this coming from a Gallatin fan is not worth much of anything. The TSSAA absolutely could have handled this better and they did not do all they could do.
  4. They will play next week against Franklin County. “Contact tracing” per the Heath Department shut them down this past Friday. Complete nonsense.
  5. Ok makes a little more sense....still confusing.
  6. Agree that they are not going to force that. The one big mistake the TSSAA made is not mandating all regions game be played and that they should take precedence this year over any or all non-region scheduled games. In simple terms, metro had six weeks of football to play once released. In this one specific region example, their are six total teams and five games each per team. So, either the TSSAA should have set the region schedules (as they had originally planned in one of their contingent protocols preseason) or left it up to the regions with that one specific mandate. That would have been the fair thing to do and not very hard to accomplish. If some long-standing non-region rivalries had to be canceled as a result, so be it! This is a weird year and we all realize that. I truly believe they dropped the ball on leadership with this. They basically gave up and said forget it. I think we all can agree this should and could have been done for all the regions, specifically in relation to the metro situation which affects three regions. Not very difficult.
  7. Gallatin obviously won’t be pushing for it at all, but if I’m Hillsboro I’d be screaming from the hills to play that game! Hosting Page as opposed to traveling to Shelbyville is a massive difference this year. There are no guarantees who wins that game whatsoever, but it should be played to determine a crucial spot which also dramatically affects the other region too.
  8. In this particular case, it should! No offense, but what good does it do for Gallatin to play Glencliff and Hillsboro to play Hunters Lane?? Wasted weeks when not everybody is playing everybody in the region anyway. Coaches know the top teams and nobody would be offended by a switch. It makes common sense.
  9. We know they are not actually playing 12 games. Common sense. But they get credit for 2 COVID region wins and so 12 games total will be included in their overall record.
  10. Maybe the best example is Smyrna, Stewarts Creek, and LaVergne. All have played 9 games overall with two games remaining. Smyrna has 2 COVID region wins and Stewarts Creek and LaVergne have 1 each.
  11. Gallatin is 5-5 overall and 2-0 in the region (including 2 COVID wins) and still play Beech and Glencliff for its “11th and 12th game”.
  12. Giles County is 4-6 overall and 3-0 in its region (including 2 COVID wins) and play Pearl-Cohn next for its “11th game”. That’s one example...I shall continue my research.
  13. Thank you. That’s all I was trying to get at. It’s certainly not about lack of research despite being attacked continuously. I do my research.
  14. Summit could schedule an “11th game” next week in their bye week. That’s not a great example since the tiebreaking system won’t matter in their case. In other cases around the state it could matter. In other words, a team has some COVID wins and gets another additional game during its bye week to make up for one of the weeks they didn’t play. In that case, for tiebreaking purposes, are all 11 games counted or does the team pick which COVID win counts towards the tiebreaker and which does not, depending on the one that helps out the most? I’ve yet to find that answer anywhere.
  15. Because all the answers are simply not given. It was not explained early on that region games should take precedence and it should have been. Also replacing non-region games is tricky for tiebreaking purposes in some cases. The overall record accumulates COVID wins but what if a team adds a non-region game in its natural bye week? Does it replace one of the other non-region game COVID wins and does a team get to select which one it replaces? Or will teams have records with more than 10 total games, 11 or 12 in some cases.
  16. Oh I’ve done way more research than you suggest. Thanks for your good attitude and respect. Glad we are playing football!!
  17. Did they explain the metro situation? Teams missing games because they were not allowed to play, but were healthy and willing?
  18. Ok since they explained it and you understand it...explain it to me. Are there COVID wins and COVID losses or do the losses not count? Did they explain whether region games should take precedent in re-scheduling?
  19. Yeah definitely! I’ve noticed that. I think the one mistake the TSSAA made was not making the rule that all region games take precedent over non-region games. I think once things started getting crazy they just backed out altogether. In other words, in many, many cases we have teams playing non-region games or taking “COVID byes” when they could have played region games instead.
  20. Agree with that for sure, which is why some smart re-scheduling would make common sense in this one particular year.
  21. Incorrect. No demanding here! We all understand this is a nightmare year. It is what it is. Shelbyville will likely beat Hillsboro anyway. Gallatin will catch a major break by playing possibly Page instead of Shelbyville. The only point I was making is what, if anything, is the TSSAA doing about scenarios like this everywhere? Why not, for instance, have Gallatin and Hillsboro play in Week 11 for common sense purposes? It’s simple questions, not demands. It’s also very much curiosity on a year like this. I’m telling you, regardless, this seeding process is going to be wild!
  22. Congrats!! 8-0 and on to Riverdale to try clinching the 2 seed and a home playoff game.
  23. We desperately need the TSSAA to explain the plans for seeding these regions this year! Let me give one very specific upcoming situation and there are probably numerous issues like this all over the state. In Region 6-5A, Beech is headed for an unbeaten record clearly to get the top seed. The issue is dealing with the 2 seed since Hillsboro and Gallatin are not scheduled to play each other. In my opinion, Hillsboro is likely a big favorite to defeat Gallatin rather easily. I think they could have given Gallatin a COVID win over Hillsboro, but I’m unsure since metro wasn’t allowed to play at that time?? This is very crucial because if Hillsboro gets stuck with the 3 seed it is likely unfair and it certainly is very unfair for the 2 seed from Region 5 (likely Shelbyville) to get saddled with Hillsboro as opposed to Gallatin. Honestly, Gallatin and Hillsboro should play in the final week of the season and let Hunters Lane and Glencliff schedule other opponents...that’s the fairest way to handle it. But I’m not sure if the TSSAA is involved with any of these nightmare scenarios across the state? Maybe the TSSAA would allow Shelbyville (assuming they are the 2 seed from Region 5) by choice to drop down to the 3 seed because they’d likely much rather play Gallatin at this point than Hillsboro. Or maybe the TSSAA should seed based off both teams’ result vs. Beech (Hillsboro lost 14-7 and Gallatin plays Beech next week) This thing is messy! Any thoughts or input on this scenario or others like it?
