  1. Trinity loses two starters: Shelby Cummings SS and Ivy Renfroe P/1B. Those two have made it to state for 5 straight years. They'll return 7 starters and should be strong again.

  2. Cornersville

    Grace Baptist

    Forrest

    Midway

    Trinity

    Huntingdon

    Friendship

    Coalfield

Should be some interesting matchups. I hate Trinity and Huntingdon have to play first round, but that's the way things go sometimes.

  3. Riverdale didn't CONTROL the game. It was 1-1 until the 7th. Soddy had more hits, but couldn't get the clutch hit.

No dog in this fight, but the linescore on the Chattanoogan website has Riverdale with 7 hits and Soddy with 6. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  4. It would be really interesting to see those four teams play. I'd think they would all 4 be pretty evenly matched with Beech being slightly ahead. In the regular season, Goodpasture went 1-1, winning by 1 against Soddy and losing by 1 to Trinity. Trinity went 1-0, winning by 1 against Goodpasture, and Soddy went 0-1, losing by 1 to Goodpasture. I've heard Beech beat both Soddy and Goodpasture in play days in preseason; you can take that for what it's worth since it was preseason.

  5. Here are my top four contenders in each classification:

    AAA

Beech- They return a lot of talent from last year's runner-up, and they are solid all the way around.

Soddy Daisy- Always talented, always well-coached, and their Freshman Nunley is already a good pitcher.

Siegel- Scrappy team with a talented pitcher in Connell. They have beaten Soddy once this year.

Wilson Central- Greenwood is excellent in the circle. They should be battle-tested just by playing Beech so many times.

    AA

Goodpasture- Like Soddy, they are always a great program. Cartwright and Co. don't want to end the title run.

Lexington- Look out for their pitcher Arnold, she is tough as nails and will surprise some people.

Camden- Solid fundamentals, great hitting, and fantastic coaching.

Unicoi Co.- They have been solid all year, and they always seem to get the job done.

    A

Trinity- They seem to be on a mission this year.

Cornersville- The Cole sisters plus Fagan gives them a great pitching corps. If hitting and defense don't let them down, they will do very well.

Forrest- They are a solid team all the way around. Stinnett gives them a chance; you just have to wonder how her arm will hold up.

Huntingdon- Their hitting has done a much better job backing up Brooke Thomas this year. Could be the surprise team.

  6. Anyone who doesn't think Westview has some great players is just fooling themselves. They have an excellent team and two very good pitchers. Here is a list of some in rural West Tenn that I think are pretty talented:

    Bolivar- Keaton Kirk

    Camden- Amanda Brandenburg, Morgan Fowler

Chester Co.- Katie Hall, Courtney Warren

    Crockett Co.- Brooke Privett

Covington- Sarah Cousar, CJ Browder, Autumn Glenn

    Dyer Co.- Paige French

    Huntingdon- Brooke Thomas, Deidra Jordan

    JCS- Brittny Johnson, Lauren Allen

Lexington- Shalese Arnold, Alex Weatherly, Niya Sparks

    McNairy- Caroline George

    Milan- Alex Williams, Ashley Fuller

    Ripley- Mercedes Norfolk

    South Side- Kohnley Wade

South Fulton- Marina Barclay, Hailey McKinney

USJ- Katie Beth Fesmire, Lauren Riddel

Wesview- Shaylon Robb, Shanna Chappell, Sam Geisler

Disclaimer: I left Trinity's players off cause I know some of them and their parents. Also, this post wasn't intended as a slight to any of these girls' teammates. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  7. There's a difference for pulling for your team and bad-mouthing another. Saying they are weak, won't know what hit them, all they play is weak teams, etc. isn't pulling for your team; it's putting down another. Saying their fan base had security called on them is putting them down. For the record, most of the people saying what a good program TCA is are fans of other teams. As I said earlier, you can support your team without being negative towards a team and their fanbase. I'm hoping you're young, and you don't represent the entire Forrest fanbase.

  8. I'm not sure who this TCS is that you people talk about, but I can assure you security wasn't called on any TCA fans in the Boro. I was there, and this post like most of your others is a bunch of bologna! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  9. You wtn folks keep talkin that trash........ But you will find out next week (if you even make it) what's coming at you!!!!!!!!!

LOL they're not even from West Tenn. I believe they're a Friendship supporter. And I hate to tell you this, but there will be West Tenn "folks" at the Boro. Two teams HAVE to come from this part of the state. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  10. Cascade, I have no chip. What was your reason for this post anyway? And again why haven't you been on here making other posts about the subject before now. BTW, that 25-0 was probably the last district game MTCS played before tournaments. I'm sure that was a real good memory as well, huh?

You're right you don't know the team, school, or the game that took place. There have been worse margins than that this year, but you just happened to look this time and decide for yourself that Trinity was being bad sports. Then, you decide to post it to make them look bad by saying that some coaches realize the lasting effects this has on players, as if others don't.

You said they were running them into the ground; I'm here to tell you that wasn't the case. Let's leave it at that.

  11. I did because I thought it was funny he would congratulate one team(Forrest), who has actually had the same thing happen to them. However, he puts a post up to show bad sportsmanship for another. Plus, he's basically Forrest's biggest fan.

  12. THAT is exactly my point!!! No risk of injury when a base runner leaves a base too early. It is a dead ball out. That is all I'm saying. This was a region semi-final game that girls worked their butts off to get to and there was no need (in my opinion) of rubbing their face in it. It was the last game of some of the girls??™ careers in high school. Not a good memory to carry with you. I don't agree with ANYBODY beating a team in softball by 20 runs, but last game of the season is tough on those girls ending their careers like that.

Last time I checked, this is a message board were opinions can be voiced. I stated my opinion, you rebutted. No need to get ugly about it.

You did voice your opinion, and I stated that your opinion is wrong. There was no reason for your post other than trying to point out that Trinity did something bad and ran somebody down. Yet again, where was your post when Forrest beat MTCS 25-0? Or what about mentioning Houston's score? You WEREN'T there; you have no idea about what happened, so you just make yourself look petty and foolish.

  13. Thanks fishunt! It's just hard for me to sit here and listen to it. My sister and cousin both played on the first TCA softball teams there were. They struggled to field a team a lot, but they played with a lot of heart. They took a lot of pastings by some of these teams that they play now. I would sit in the back seat and hear how upset my sister was when her team would killed. My mom told her that there will come a day when things would turn around, and though it might have taken longer than expected, that day has come. Trinity softball is a pretty tough team to deal with these days. I know a lot of these girls on the team since my youngest cousin played with them last year. I've known the coach for a long time too. He's a good man, and they are good girls. Trust me when I say that there was by no means any intent to put a team down; afterall, the coach and program know what that feels like.

P.S. If your daughter was Hailey from FCS last year, she was one heck of a pitcher.

  14. Sorry if your team lost spojo, yea, nobody should get hurt and I see what your saying about the errors, but yes the runners coulda left early.....And if you refering to me, I don't even know where Forrest school is...I think the coach woulda just threw in the towel in that fiasco..........I just commenting on such a rout of a score....nonsense...

My team didn't lose, and I wasn't referring to you with Forrest either. I'm just saying the team did what it could to end the game. They didn't lay down and die like some people believe a team should but they did. Trust me I was there when these teams were nailing Trinity to the wall when my sister played. None of them took mercy on us then. I also see that Houston wins 19-0 agianst an out-matched opponent from the Memphis area, but they're not mentioned. All I'm saying is don't come on some message board trying to make a program look bad if you don't know what you're talking about!

P.S. The Forrest team you brag so much on Cascade beat MTCS 25-0 this year in a game. I must have missed your post on that one.

  15. Yeah and when the other team makes errors then it's kind of hard to leave base early. I guess now they should run into the other team's players and get interference called on them. That wouldn't risk injury there now would it? You're just trying to make something out of nothing. Trust me they did what they could.

  16. Sounds like a good time to have some runners leave base early if you ask me. Get your 3 inning 15 run lead and get out of dodge before you get some stupid injury.

Again, the game couldn't be stopped at 3 cause there were not 15 runs.

  17. Trust me they did what they could. They didn't have enough runs by the third inning (14) to end the game. They scored 8 more the next, but the game ended up having to go to 5. I'm pretty sure they subbed as well, but I guess they're not suppose to get to hit. Before you start making accusations about something, you might want to get the story first. Stick to being Forrest's biggest fan! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  18. Congrats to Trinity! Goodpasture is such a great program with a winning tradition. I'm sure the team was excited to beat such an awesome opponent, and they will hopefully carry it forward towards their goals of winning state. Not sure why everyone is surprised they did as well as they did; they've been a great team the past few years. Ellen and Ivy are gifted pitchers who have worked hard to get where they are. I think most knowledgeable people would also admit that it helps to have a great TEAM behind you. You have to be one if you're gonna go toe-to-toe with Goodpasture for 9 innings. Anyone know how the run scored?
