Exactly. Making someone the boss of the guy replacing him is dicey from the beginning.

In the last 24 hours I saw tweets teasing the upcoming reveal of a local high school's "16 uniform combinations" for next season, a HS player hawking tee shirts from a company he has an NIL deal with and a HS player promoting training with D1.
Yep

When a young man I put several years of time and energy into helping grow as a player, student and person jumped ship his senior year for what he and his father thought were greener pastures (with the encouragement of the other school's HC), I knew it was time to get out of coaching. I still love what happens on Friday nights between the the sidelines, but it's no longer worth what coaches have to put up with. Sadly changes in player/parent expectations and the trickle down negative influences from the NFL and college have really changed the game at the HS level. I'm just not interested in recruiting or competing to keep transfers, NIL deals, social media, entitled kids and parents, elite 7 on 7 leagues, camps and combines, fund raising to have multiple new uniform combinations every year, etc.
I don’t blame you and totally understand. The simple intangibles that for years made high school football the joy it was are no more.

Tough season by our standards this year. Still behind the team, and there is absolutely not another coaching staff in the country I would want to steer us through the remainder of this season and beyond.

Barney is right about the decision to get rid of Scott West

Powell looked good despite not having QB1. Defense played a lot better than the week before, kept them in the game. Eventually they got gassed cause of so many 3 and outs by offense. It was 13-0 at halftime without QB1. Powell runs away from this game if he played. Maryville is the not the same Maryville. This could be the first year in like 10000 years that they don't win a region title? JMO
Yeah we're not good at all. Hopefully we can improve.

Some things to clean up that are very fixable. But if you win 45-7 on what some feel was a "bad" day you must have some things going for you.

I know they had an off year last year; but didn’t the mhs girls go to state the previous two years including a 30 win season? Hated to see Coach West leave. Did tons of good stuff for the football team as well.

How about games at Maryville? Can you still pick them up at the office early like before, or do you have to use gofan?
Guess its a secret huh?

Are you going to have to get tickets through gofan or can you pay at the gate?
I’d like to know that also.

If someone could explain that defensive hold to me I'd greatly appreciate it.
A Maryville defensive lineman got grabbed and spun by the face mask. NFHS thought the play was coming back as did I. No idea how a defensive hold was called.

I wonder if Maryville will be going with NFHS otherwise known as No Football Here Sucker after everyone has paid for a subscription or have it on WGAP live which was actually better other than the camera man falling asleep a few times on the job. Most Maryville fans are left digging and scrambling trying to figure out who has the game on and most never know. That's a good way to pizz most of the fanbase that can't get in if Maryville even cares. When all this Covid stuff finally goes away Maryville and a bunch other schools will have a lot of azz kissing to do to get fans back on board for the damages that have been done. Someone needs to get their act together at Maryville and get word out during the week which way their going.
Well my 2 cents worth and it may not be even worth that. But NFHS is BY FAR the worst option. The Bradley Central and McMinn Facebook lives were much better, and DIamond Clear 100 times better than NFHS. NFHS hangs up CONSTANATLY and sometimes you have to completely got out of it and reload it and it does not matter how big a game it is they are all the same. Diamond CLear stalled ONCE for like 3 or 4 seconds last Friday and it is free! Not sure if this is based on the school getting revenue out of the deal but if so I hope it is a lot because the product they chose is dead last in all the options available. Looks like the bottom line would be the best option available for those not able to attend the game. JMO

I watched the replay and wondered why we're not moving to that considering how awful NFHS has been time in and time out. NFHS is like a cheating wife, can't ever expect it to be on when it says it will.
Agreed and the video constantly hangs up. FB live works if done right and Bradley and Farragut are good examples.

I watched on Bradley's facebook also and they did a great job. Camera angle better than NFHS has ever been and no constant delays in video feed. Had a friend text me last night at half asking why the game was delayed, so not sure NFHS even pulled it off last night.

Great win by Marvyille. Defense kept them close until the offense came around.
As far as coaches would not trade any of ours for anyone. So proud and blessed to have the coaching staff we have. The last two years we have come out and pitched a shutout in the second half while scoring twice. Looks like the halftime adustments advantage is clear there. I don't blame Rankin for going for it, although I might of just done it and not tried to draw them offsides and then call a timeout. I think Maryville is in his head a bit but that is understandable. What is he like 3-12 all time? They were probably all excited after Coach Quarles left, man that has to be a disappointment.

I thought we turned it over 5 times...I’m probably wrong. My mind isn’t too sharp either.
I think you’re right now that I think of it. 4 first half 1 in second.

Alcoa turned it over twice in the red zone if I recall correctly
Guess memory is the first thing to go. Alcoa did not turn it over at all. Maryville did four times including once in the red zone or that game was not as close as it was.

I call it like it like I see it. I’m here for intelligent discussion, not attention with some jibberish that’s a waste of time.
Not that it matters to me or you. But you just lost all credbility with me. Oakland must be proud to have you as a fan. Jibberish is one thing and its all in fun. But you just hit way below the belt on one of the nicest guys you would ever meet.
