game could have been 4-2 CCS if everyone capitalized on their big chances. Notre Dame battled hard and had some good counter attacks. Should see two more meetings between the two and both in Murfreesboro. Then it all depends on the draw. Gotta stay away from CAK and Knox Catholic.

not sure but I am sure they have a tie breaker. If Baylor and McCallie both win, there will likely be a goal differential or something like that, then go to a list of tie breakers. Webb could through a wrench in it and beat one of them. (creating a three way tie which could be real interesting) Maybe they could compare SAT/ACT scores or have a field goal kicking contest at a neutral site.

This is from a girls thread this fall. Seemed to make sense. I assume the guys are doing pretty much the same thing.

bluelion- don't understand why you dont see it.
Every team is beating them by 10-20 goals. Do you really think these coaches are running up the score. You don't get it.
I have said this before. What is more embarrasing having a guy dribble untouched to the goal, then turn around and dribble back out or scoring 15 goals? There is only so much you can do. I don't think you understand how bad this team is. You don't think th coach is subbing and play the Jv kids? You think the forwards/strikers are scoring 5 goals?
CCSMAN says they played with seven guys in the second half. If it is true... that would be embarrasing if I was the other team. 11 on 7? I think I would rather give up 20 goals.
-
they were supposed to play Ooltewah on Friday night and Notre Dame on Saturday. Not sure if either actually happened.
-
I think stryker got it right.
passing the ball around for 45 minutes and never advancing toward the goal is humilating. I don't think people understand how much parity is between these teams.
-
from what I understand, they will only have JV sports in their first year so anyone that transfers could play since they would be playing jv. I think after the first year, then the transfer rule would be in place. I don't think they will even have seniors next year.
This will effect other private schools but it will all depend on how the team progresses. McCallie, GPS and Baylor are still going to pull the best soccer players in the city but alot of this will be effected by coaches. If you want to play for the best in Chattanooga, you play for Jimmy Weekley at Baylor. That is not going to change.
-
Are you sure this is Tennessee Temple Academy in Chattanooga? They are not playing any of the other district teams in the area. They do not have a schedule on TSSAA and they do not list the sport on their website. Think it may be a different team.
-
didn't the big smith kid from Boyd go DI? The lineman that also played the guitar. (thats all I can remember about him)

The best athletes in chattanooga (as far as football goes) are mostly at public schools not private. Give or take a few at Baylor or McCallie.
Look at the athletes at Red Bank and Ooltewah. They are studs. Throw in S. Pitt, Soddy-Daisy, ER, Howard, Brainerd and your talking about some big time athletes. Can't name many from the small privates in Chattanooga.

This was the latest coaches poll for boys soccer. It is pretty much the same every year.
Chattanoogan.com Coaches Poll:
1. Baylor
2. McCallie
3. Notre Dame
4T. CCS
4T. Ooltewah
6. CSAS
7. Soddy-Daisy
8. Cleveland
9. Red Bank
10. McMinn County
ND, CCS, Grace and Boyd are the three main small privates in boys/girls soccer.
Yes, these players would be difference makers on other teams. (the good ones, obviously)
Ooltewah, CSAS and Soddy-Daisy have held their own with the privates but Baylor and McCallie have dominated for years.
-
Temple, (in Chattanooga) has not had a team for years and don't think they have one this year. The university may be going on tour. They would probably compete well with some high school teams.
-
East Ridge 3 McMinn Central 0 from Tuesday.
-
cool, thanks. Looking forward to next year. He was a monster in high school.
-
Division I teams like CCS, NOtre Dame, Grace, Boyd have not chosen to be in Division I because the compitition is easier. Notre Dame switched several years ago because it was really hard to compete with the $$ at the DII schools. I know Notre Dame and CCS almost always schedule Baylor and McCallie so it is not like they are scared of them. It is a decision made based on all sports not just soccer. You can't just play in DII in one sport.
Back to the topic. Kudos to East Ridge. They have been improving over the last couple of years and that is great for A/AA soccer. I am sure CCS will use this to their advantage but it could effect where the district tournament is played depending on what happens with the other games.
-
not sure what your point is about the girls but they play in one of the weakest regions in the state. It's been many years since any chattanooga team has made it past substate in Class A. I think Grace was the last team and that was 10 years ago. (I know LV made it back in that era as well as CCS)
Back to the topic... Caleb is young, still learning. He did a good job with one sensational player and a bunch of other guys that are inexperienced. Pressure will be on next year.

Ooltewah 1 CSAS 0

Yeah UC didnt play well at all..They couldnt throw it in the ocean today and ended up beating 8 instead of 5..The refs called a one sided game on the fouls..It was horrible! Mad props to Temple on a great season and congrats to J. Sexton on a great game..UC just couldnt hit nothing in the game it wasnt all the refs but there was many times when MJ got hammered on the inside and Tony Wilkins also and nothing was called..It was pitifull! They called every lil touch foul they could on UC..BUT>>NO EXCUSES..It was just one of those games where UC's schedule pay off for them and having a true leader on the team..Congrats to Tony Wilkins on a great game also...It was a great team effort on both sides of the ball.
No excuses? Then don't make excuses. I am with reaction... actually found myself cheering for Temple on this one. I think that may have been a first. Great season for the Crusaders. They showed they could play with the best.

Is Corey Manson still wrestling at Cornell?
-
problem with that is teams may get a better draw or be on the better side of a bracket by throwing the region championship game.
It makes no sense to make them wait five days. At this point teams don't even know what day they will be playing. Could be wednesday, could be thursday.
Should have been drawn on Tuesday after substate.
-
what time and where?
-
East Ridge beat Sequatchie 53-42.
-
Can a rivalry be one-sided? If so, then the Grace/Temple "rivalry" is a good example. Grace looks at it as a rivalry, Temple does not. (generally speaking of course)
I have a snow covered villa in Florida that I will throw in with that ocean front property.
It is a big rivalry for both schools. It doesn't matter if it is one sided. It is a rivalry.

noticed at 160 Ben Heacock from Franklin and Brett Shields from PF? would wrestl in the second round.
Heacock was third last year and shields was second.

it would really surprise me if Baylor scores more than two goals. They haven't been scoring much even in the lesser games but you never know with Baylor. They are a very strong team.
