The Chattanooga Central boys basketball job is open.

You're only as good as the talent. Had some foreign players one year and I was a great coach then they left and went to a private school in NC.  I suddenly was not a good coach any more. As my grandfather said "you can't win the KY derby riding donkeys.LOL

This said coach has "Good timed Charlied" around for several years.  Just look at his tenure for the past 10-12 yrs.  Family Ba humbug.  He moved to Wilson Central because of family what's the reason now. Going to where he sees good players coming up etc..  And that's all I have to say about that. (Forrest Gump)!!!!!!!!!!

Who cares about HH? Honestly, who cares. Again any TSSAA school should not schedule or play HH at any time. What do you hope to gain? Get better? Thats crap, then why dont TSSAA let high schools play travel teams? Its the same thing. HH is just a school that dont have ANY rules therefore its basically a travel team. They cherry pick the local schools for the best players. Play by the rules or dont play.

Agreed MartianMan.  And the media also jumps on this bandwagon about how good they are.  Of course they are.  get players from other countries that are 6"3 plus. Like I said these selected players make a "bad" coach look good!!!!

Hamilton Heights and Bradley Central will be very strong boasting some of the best talent in the state. Sources say HH could be a top 20 nationally ranked team this year. 2016 had a great class of young ladies that have moved on to the next level from the Chatt area. It will be interesting to see who emerges this year.

Just sayin'. If all of us could allow any player to come into our  program then yes we could all be GREAT!!!  This an All-star team w/o restrictions from any state organization.  So yes they are talented but let's be fair.  This team would make any bad coach look good.

Good luck to the Pounders.  Stay focused and play hard then you will leave no regrets. There is nothing like "hustle."  Hope you fight til Saturday!!!

And if there is a total split it will be like this with all the privates.. No restrictions and no hiding it.  Heck I would send my kid to a private also if they waived the tuition etc...  The privates WILL form own league and not be under T$$AA rules just like Hamilton Heights. 

Better watch out for what you wish for.  The privates WILL form own organization and not be under T$$AA rules.  Then they will recruit even more with no penalties.  Your big 230 lb 4.4 yd. dash running back is gone with the privates taking him right in front of your face.  Plus they can remove the tuition or give the family financial help.  It will be a lottery draft session.  At least now there is some restrictions and an "eye" watching.  If split there will be no hiding any shall I say the R word: RECRUITING!!  Remember this post a year from now if the total split happens.

Great year for the Central boys team.  They have persevered and worked hard for this prize:  State recognition.  lets all go and show our PURPLE POUNDER POWER in the GLASS HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!

Wild seems to jump ship to schools with talent.  Check out how many schools he has been with over the last 10-12 years. Just saying!!!

As for Wild...he is a nomad. Maybe he will stay for some time. He is a great coach.

Just wanted to let the UC folks know about a former teacher at UC, Ryan Mallory, has been hired as AA Chattanooga Central head football coach. Ironic Central has same colors as UC Purple/Gold!!!

Probably waiting it out for something a little later. Sort of like Chatt. Central. Stay one year then "see ya."

Chattanooga has 12/13 high schools and all our athletes are spread out. Maybe if we had open zones we could get more than one great player per team. Don't think has anything to do with coaching. Place some of the mid-state and west TN coaches over here and see what would happen.

I would suggest you watch the film...I doubt you even seen the game, but listened to it like Indian.  

Agreed with Glory. Once again if Lamar had to deal with 12 other HS in his area and just have one outstanding player per team, then his cockiness would be a little different. Having all those "ALL-State" players, transfers, etc... no wonder he's seen as a "God" in God's country.  It's hard when all your athletes are spread out!!!!

When you are at State you bring the "A" game and its no crying.  I'm sure HC had some games like this with them winning, so it doesn't feel so good, UMMMM?

I am not going to quote all the ignorance, but am going to respond as clear as I can.  There are reason for kids not to go to certain schools for certain reasons.  Coming into a school as a Freshman from 8th grade is in no way transferring.

 

I cannot get into details, because it is no ones business (including mine, but I know) why they went to Clarkrange and they all had very good reasons, with basketball being the least of their worries.  It definitely payed off for the young ladies and Clarkrange basketball.  They are all Fentress county products and we are proud of them all.  Has nothing to do with scholarships or academics.  Same as when the twins went to Clarkrange, they had very good reasons also.  As I am sure the young lady from RBS that went to JC.

 

I could count the transfers to both schools combined over the last 10 years on both hands(no need for toes not enough transfers).  Incoming freshman do not count, because they are not transfers.

While it may not be the time to make friends, it is the time to show your team how to have "class". Putting the starters in against subs..... low class and poor sportsmanship. And the starters continue to shoot to run the score up.  Is this a team and coach I would be proud to say are State Champs? Nope. I think the booing from the entire crowd in the Boro showed the same opinion as mine.

Run the score up???  How do you do that when the other team has won over 30 games!!! LOL

CAN YOU SAY SCREWED BY 3 OF THE WORST OFFICIALS. MEIGS WENT 34 OF 41 FROM THE FOUL LINE, NO ONE CAN WIN AGAINST THAT. GOOD LUCK JACKSON COUNTY HOPE YOU GUYS CAN PULL IT OFF, BUT HOPE MORE YOU DONT GET THOSE 3 OFFICIALS!!
