  1. AC put in their JV at the beginning of the 4th quarter in compliance to the mercy rule. I believe the score was 40-6, AC. The first play the JV was in on was the kick-off following AC's score. Central had their starting return team in and they scored. AC continues to leave the JV in and Central scores again, making it 40 to 22. That's a little too close, with too much time left to continue to play with the JV. And on that note, does anyone remember how Helton use to be able run the score up on people. I bet Clinton people do. In 2003, Central ran up the score 70-0 on Clinton when they were down and trying to rebuild the program. Helton left his starters in almost the entire game. It was disgraceful. Maryville comes to Clinton the next week and pulls their starters at the end of the first quarter. Quarles made it a point not to do what Helton did to Clinton. My view on it. Sorry Clinton, I wish an Anderson County school could have returned the favor from 2003. Atta boy, Herd!
  2. Sorry, MavMax. Trying to be humorous and secretive at the same time. Pitiful, I Know. He actually is the kuckleballer for AC this year. He was dressed out Friday, but obviously didn't play. Hope he gets cleared soon.
  3. Mabe is AC's punter and just didn't get the field last friday.
  4. Dragon92, I am no X or O expert. Wish I was. AC's offense looks fantastic and should gun with anyone up to the later playoff rounds (barring something happening like the way AC snuck up on Clinton last year). I will admit, I'm not sure their defense has jelled enough yet to shut down what OR usually brings in a running game (basing that on the MO east game). Powell will be the callenge and test, they appear to be the complete package so far this year. Central, who knows from week to week. If Camion and Austin Powell get a little better consistent blocking by the end of the season, I don't know there either. Between Guilliam and Matt Price, I believe they will find a way. Good luck to the Dragons and I apologize for what the other post brought out in me. I'm proud of the level of play that all of the teams in this county are at. It would be nice for us to be at the same level as Blount someday.
  5. Roger that. Thanks BoogieMiles.
  6. Hey Ope, BOO HOO. Apparently previous posts in this thread don't matter to you or you just don't read them. I think AC is just fine. Almost looks like an SEC teams easy early schedule. Like I said, I don't think AC was picking creme puffs when they scheduled the non district teams they have, they just aren't strong this year. I think Clinton, obviously your team, would like a little easlier non-district schedule considering how well their playing this year (Karns was a tuffy last night, I'm sure). You guys will get to play Campbell also, don't worry. In the end at playoff time, all that matters is what AC did in district. They will have to measure up to everybody else in the "DISTRICT".
  7. Gotta point something out about the cupcakes on AC's schedule. LA won a state championship a few years ago in the old 3A division and AC has had them on schedule since. Mo East was 9-3 in '08 before AC set them on the schedule for 2009 and 2010. The '08 team went to the third round of the playoffs that year. In '06, they again won 9 games. I know they may be a little down this year and last year, but I wouldn't exactly call it cherry picking when AC scheduled them.
  8. Don Meredith sang "Turn out the lights, the party's over". 55 AC 29 ME
  9. Tanner has to be close to 500 yds passing. You think?
  10. AC - 28 ME - 21 3rd qt. 9:29 ARM TACKLING!!!!!!!!!
  11. Update AC - 27 ME - 14 2 Qt. 0:16 left
  12. Thought I'd give score since there isn't any radio covering the game for AC peeps. AC - 20 ME - 7 2 Q. 7 min left
  13. Thanks Rollredroll, I found the post over on the DII page. I guess AC had a bad night. One poster said that AC was pretty bad. Maybe when it comes to pairing up a public to a private. Only a scrimmage though, AC should recover and play well in their district. They matched up pretty well to Mo West and Fulton recently. Those two are not push overs by any means. Ensworth looks loaded with talent by what their saying on the thread with the all Metro team. Good luck to those facing them.
  14. Does anyone know the details of what happened in the AC/Ensworth scrimmage at TTU? The Ensworth website says that they won it (Ok,?).
  15. Dotson did play. Had a couple of good runs, but nothing significate. AC freshman linebackers were quick on him almost every run. Don't know if it was a line problem or what. Just heard today that AC now has about thirty freshman out. If they stay, could bring some decent depth that AC hasn't had in a while. Guess adding the middle school program at Lake City is helping to add numbers coming into the program.
  16. Very physical dominating scrimmage by the AC freshman. Was Clinton missing any important players? I did notice Dotson was running the ball and the Pike kid was on the line. Dotson did get some yards, but nothing like he usely does. AC's defense was tough. Again, I know it's only a scrimmage.
  17. Obviously you've been to practice or something. What do you base that prediction on? I know that Josh Wilson, Jermey kesterson, Chad Blakley, and Drew Hicks were major losses. Having the record setting quarterback return is great, but who else? Who are the new guys stepping up?
  18. The Courier stated that he is 6'1". One player that I know of, is for a fact 6'1" (with shoes on). He told me that Tanner is eye level to him, if not slightly taller. It won't be surprising to me if he gets that late growth spurt between now and his graduation that could take him to 6'2" or more. The kid is probably OK. There are hords of great D-1 and D1AA college quarterbacks that have played at that height. Many even shorter. You almost wonder of arm strength may be the more important factor. I heard it said that Chad Pennington has never had that big arm, but always the most catchable/well-placed ball.
  19. Very nice article in Clinton Courier today about AC quarterback Tanner Williams getting interest from UT after attending their summer camp for high school athletes. The article states that he threw well and got a positive response from the coaches. Very level headed speak on his part knowing that it means very little and that he will have to continue to improve his package in all areas. His arm strength and size will no doubt be points of interest by major college coaches, but his attitude appears to be solid. Hopefully he has one more growth spurt to go. It is, as well, comforting to know he has Justin Price behind him to help develop as much as is attainable. Great outlook for Williams and AC.
