  1. AC and CC played back in the 80s to mid 90s. Didn't played each from about '96 to about 09 or '10 when AC went to 5A. If they had played during those years, don't CC would have a chance, except the year CC Had Chris Johnson. Still don't think they would have a chance then either. SO, it's not like AC & CC have been playing consecutively that long anyway.
  2. I haven't seen this mentioned so far, but AC has been playing the WR at QB the entire game. AC is having success in answerkng OR. Smith did't dress, which I really hate. Hope they can keep it up, OR is fast everywhere.
  3. Great win by catholic. AC struggled bad, obviously all due to great Catholic play. No excuses. It was a great venue and atmosphere. Turf looked great. However, I can't say I appreciated you'll put the "lapsed" Catholic section over right next to the AC section. The leader, John White (twitter, @flyeaglesfly21) was terrible. If I counted one 'GD', I counted ten. Where was a nun when you need one. Guess that was payback for his little boy being on the losing end last year. Maybe we can get some good ol country meth heads to pile in up against you'll next time. May be give a pill bonus for every fight they start. Good game.
  4. Thanks Mav4lifer on interpreting my hog Latin. Guess I was a little too "snake eyed" over the WLAF-ALOT announcers to make sure I would be understood.
  5. Well Pappy, until your up and 'mass communicating', Cougar County will just have that one on us.
  6. Yeah, can't believe we don't. I guess it's due to the absence of a non committed radio station in this immediate market. I heard Jim Harris (WYSH) once say that when he first moved here, he did play by play for ACHS. Had to have been back in the early 90's. Wonder what happened. I know there's a market for it for I have on numerous occasions myself scoured the web in search of another schools game broadcast with AC. I remember intensely listing to the AC/Columbia game back a few years ago and not being able to sleep afterward almost the entire night. I wasn't there, but highly 'jacked up'.
  7. In watching the play back on WLAF, I was really impressed with the announcers and their broadcast. While they are obviously and understanderbly biased, I didn't take them as "homers" and without any objectivness in their play by play. I even looked past the commerical break reintro of "Home of the district champion" in my enjoyment of their broadcast. I even thought, when it comes to team media coverage, they kick our butts for we don't even have radio coverage let alone video with it. BUT! At the end of regulation time when some one played "We are the champions" over the PA system, one announcer, Brent (I think), called it tasteless. And the other, agreed. What the heck! Start none, be none as they say. I'll assure you, AC peeps wouldn't start that 'co-champ' stuff with Oak Ridge and not expect some bite back. Pleaseeeeee!!!!
  8. Packer needs to start a local version of 'The View' and leave sports alone. The garbage he says during games drives me crazy. His wife must suggest on air topics for him to comment on. Heard Russell Biven doing a game last year and he was soooo much better. Packer needs to put his yellow green bubble bee suit back on and go do little girl birthday parties. Thanks to who ever started this thread.
  9. All scores seem reasonable with the exception of Williamsburg and Halls. Some of you are having some fun with it, but I'll say it won't be close. No offense to Halls, but it could be very ugly. Williamsburg played for the single A Ky state championship last year (lost) and only lost their quarterback to graduation, who has been replaced. I believe they put up 60 on Halls last year. I say this having not seen much posted on Halls so far, so I would think they are still staring at a major rebuild.
  10. Maybe it will on tv for you'll to watch from HOME.
  11. Campbell County, Co-District Champs??????? Tuned in the radio station coming out of Lafollette after the CC win and heard the announcers/CC head coach talking it up.
  12. Don't forget AC's Phillips with 77 tackles at MLB. He filled a major hole when Cody hurt and produced.
  13. The AC helmets that I have seen up close are glossy navy blue, not flat navy blue. The chrome decal is on the back of the helmet with horns reachng to the front.
  14. Jonathon King, senior at Farragut. Thus far this year, he's had a couple of games averaging over 50 a punt (no long distance rolls either). High percentage of kick-offs go into and out of the end zone. Fieldgoals aren't what they the previous two years (five over 50 yards). There's a reason that Chris Sailer and Kohl's kicking have him ranked the number one kicker/punter combo guy in the nation. I'm not from Farragut or a fan, just pointing him out.
  15. AC AD said we are in, if we win out. Didn't sound as though it would be dependent on what anyone does as well. Sounds as though Karns would have to have all the moons line up for them to win, but there's always a possibility. Hardin Valley and Clinton scare me for they have do have a few talented athletes and may just play hard for pride against AC. So, they'll have to show up as they did against Powell and OR. AC could be very dangerous to an unsuspecting top seed in that first round and really make it a respectable season.
  16. How about someone posting a pic so we can be even more jealous.
  17. Obviously, they see him as a kick-off specialist first. I like it when UT signs local talent, so I'll be rooting for him. However, he will have to kick that Wilson GST in almost new condition. That will be a major difference from that well broke-in black looking ball I saw him kicking off with last season. UT wants a deeper kickoff, so their searching.
  18. Can someone tell me what were his fieldgoal stats for the 2010 season (how many he made and the longest). I saw him kick off and he put it very deep.
  19. New DC, Tim Hammontree. Out of over 100 apps for an assistant position, he's the one. Great draw and hire by Coach Gilliam. What ever the deal was at Rhea and Georgia, you can't turn your nose up at what this guy has done overall. Very pleased my son will play under him and the current staff. FANTASTIC!
  20. Why don't you go ask the kids that are gonna sweat and bleed for the man what they think of the hire. The father of two young men on that team told me that most of them wanted little Kerr. They like him and just maybe so will some of those 'still' walking the walls will as well.
  21. Wow, no response after 14 hours of original post. Either this board is just dead this time of year or not a major concern. Wondering who will want it. Josh Kerr is there already. Some head coaching experience (White Co and Lake City Middle). Not the most qualifying background, but you better believe he would have his dad, Larry Kerr, behind him. Regardless if you like Larry or not, he gets programs back in solid shape (AC, Halls, old Lake City HS). I also believe there may be some resentment toward AC to drive him and Josh to be successful. Big question, could the Clinton people accept them in control.
  22. I believe Zack Sharp was 6 of 8 in fieldgoals before the championship game, per the Knoxville News Sentinel. That wasn't even the highest number made in the KFL area, but that ain't chop liver either. He had one over 50 yards and alot of kickoffs into (and out of) the endzone. Playing for a state power and one on it's way into the state championship game doesn't hurt either. I don't know anything about the alternate for the East or anyone from the West roster. Who is this kicker "with the best stats in the state" and what stats does he have?
  23. Just wanted to throw out an end point to the WEST/AC contest. Knox News Sentinel reported that two persons were arrested for the vandalism done to West High's football stadium and one person still being sought. All three persons involved were graduates of West High school. AC didn't make a good showing and suffered a route from near perfect play by West. This could have been a factor to the emotion West showed in playing the game. I just wanted to make a note of this due to one post stated that rumors were going around that AC people may have done it. Good luck to West, represent us (East Tennessee) well.
  24. West Rebels, good luck. You pounded AC and deserve the respect as a great team by all that witnessed it. No excuses. RebelFan06, You apparently haven't been around football too long. Many teams do a group quickness drill before the game, even at the middle of the field. It wasn't the head coach leading the drill, but an assistant. Respecting the 'W' painted on the field, good grief. It's a football field, not the 'Hood'. Or is that how you look at it? I suppose you were at the Powell/AC game watching and not at the West/Daniel Boone game. I was at the game (ONE WEEK AGO) and saw plently of mouthing at the end by Powell as well as AC players for the coaches (of both sides) to keep them separated. Get some first hand evidence together before you callout someone as "no class". You are classless, as evidenced by your unfactual posts to put AC in a unsportsman like light.
