  1. Oakland has QB problems all night but still manages a field goal in the last seconds of the game. Great game by Coffee County. Coach Nunley is a great defensive coach and his defense stepped up tonight. The people in Manchester are impressed. Im listening to the postgame on the radio right now and there is nothing but positive words being said about Coffee County. If you believe in moral victories then Coffee County got one tonight.

  2. We do not have a tailback. We run the wingT so we have a fullback and 2 wings.

You can still have a tailback in a wing-t offense. You can also have halfbacks. Fullback/Tailback...wingback/halfback...its all the same. It just depends on what terminology you use.

  3. I just saw the story on the channel 5 news. There is some validity to badbloods claim however they did not use the word cancel in the story. The word postpone was used. Theres a big difference between cancel and postpone. I knew something didnt sound right. Cumberland County will get it together and there will be football in 2008.

  4. Relax. My first impression of him is he is going to have a hard time finding football players. So whats that tell you ?

Maybe he needs to change his shampoo to Head and Shoulders rather than use the other leading brand; afterall, You never get a second chance to make a first impression. Did he have dandruff?

  5. Sorry Muffin, but when the football board is closed..............it is beyond dull! /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> I probably was one and the first (+) members and did it because I thought the discussion board was a great idea on Mr Thompson part to promote HS sports.................I did it to support him and followed it up on the following years............at least 2 more times.

Let me preface this by saying this board was his idea and it is his board and he can darn well do what he pleases................ and I am sure that he will do just that!!

BUT I think (IMO only) closing the most popular part of the board is not a good idea............again my opinion only. I would venture to say that when the football board is on hiatus............traffic on the board is diminished greatly.

So, if and when the football board is always open...............I will (+) again immediately. IF NO, then I guess I will be one of the cheapo's.............I really hate it, but I just do not like the board when football is closed............quite dull when everyone is gone!

If you cant afford the 12 dollars then you shouldnt be able to afford the internet. I hope your signifigant other isnt hoping for anything pricey for valentines day. xoxo

  6. It is about the only fit for our "athletes" .... the wint-t is meant for teams without athletes to beat other teams with deception and ball control. As long as you have a decent run-blocking offensive line you can win a few games. I would like to see us spread the field more at times just to give different looks. Against Lincoln County last year the safety had his hand on the defensive tackles back ... no secret what we were doing. If Nunley gets the job and allows Nathan Browning to run the offense, which is what I believe will happen, our offense will have a whole new look still based out of the wing-t. ... I'm not sure what kind of offense you like bugaboo but you will probably like what coach Browning can do with the offense.

The Wing-T can also help contain bigger and stronger defenses by attacking at angles rather than straight base blocks. You can also run the Wing-T out of loose formations that will spread out defenses.

  7. Congratulations Coach Barger, you deserve this position more than anyone. The athletes will play for you and its just a matter of time before Dunlap is best in the valley again. I'm gonna look forward to coming back for the first time to watch your team. No one loves this program more than you. One question. Is the Night Train still gonna be a fixture on the sidelines whittling who knows what during practice?

  8. Thats what I was thinking. This is good news for Signal Mt. Within 3 years Signal Mt. could have enough enrollment numbers to be bumped up to 3A (Hypothetically). That means for one year they will have a huge advantage over other 1A teams who constantly stay within the requirements of 1A. I hope the enrollment over there doesnt get to big. I'd say the ritsy people up on the mountain will try to keep it down for as long as they can by enforcing zone laws...that is unless they play football. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

  9. Just an observation thats all. How do you know that if Sisk of Matthews got the job that it would only be for a short time? I'm sure the Cascade coach has done a great job...no argument there, but if he goes into Moore County with everyone knowing this is his dream job then before you know it he will have boosters calling the shots over there instead of himself. If he is that good of a coach his time will come. The people at Cascade should be proud of this guy, but dont put words in his mouth.

  10. Thank you very much for making my point! Moore County doesn't need to "settle" for another Coach who is only using them as a stepping stone to get to bigger and better things. That is exactly what I said this guy would be doing. They have the Diamond in the rough right in front of them. My friend, Coach Austin, isn't going to go there and leave a year or two later when something else opens up. THAT IS "HIS TULLAHOMA" JOB! Moore County will be making another huge mistake if they pass on this guy again. Mark my words, he is good enough and young enough that he'll have a head job sooner rather than later. It is only a matter of time before some smart AD realizes what a great find Jeremy is.

Wouldnt you want him to stay at your school if hes so good? Whats in it for you? Why are you building this guy up so much? Are you his agent? If so maybe you should call the AD/Principal yourself. I doubt anything posted on here is gonna decide who the new coach is. Call over there at Moore County and tell them about the diamond in the ruff you speak of, but wait if Moore County knows this is this guys dream job. Why wouldnt they go ahead and hire someone else like Matthews or Sisk knowing all along this Jeremy guy will still be there. After all its his "Dream Job" Maybe you are doing more harm than good for this Coach. Maybe you should let him speak for himself.

  11. I hope this isnt the same Coach Swafford that coached at South Doyle back around 2003. If it is then Grundy is getting a loose cannon. We (Sequatchie Co.) scrimmaged them back in 03 and he shouted every word in the book and had no consequence for his players using profanity on the field either. There were women and children standing near the sidelines watching the scrimmage also but he had no regard. His team played us dirty. I dont know if anyone else remembers this scrimmage to add on to what I've said, but if this is the same coach that Grundy is getting....well, good luck but not exactly what I would call a class act. I'm not trying to stir the pot these are just some observations. Maybe its not the same guy.

  12. I hope the respect that Coffee County has now toward the football program continues no matter who the coach is. One thing that Coach Price did that Breeden couldnt do year in and year out was get the athletes out of the hall ways and onto the football field. Breedens heart seemed like it always leaned towards softball. There is no doubt where Prices' heart was. He wanted to succeed. He wanted his players to succeed and he wanted the community of Manchester to be proud of their players. Whoever the next coach is needs to be someone who is well respected by the players and will get everything out of them. Coach Price again did a great job of this. His players played hard for him and for each other. If the next coach can get the Athletes to play and get them to play hard then it doesnt matter to me who the coach is. The results will be successfull. I believe Coach Sisk can get this done, but I also believe the players at Coffee County will respect whoever the new coach is. The Administration shouldnt rush to an easy hire. They should make this hire a top priority because the level of football at Coffee County and the fan support is at a high that I cant remember seeing in my lifetime. However that momentum can all go away in one year with the wrong hire. Get the athletes out of the hallways...get them to play hard for each other, and Coffee County will continue to compete for the region.

  13. I think that they will look at someone with head coaching experience. Crucial hire this time. Going forward or dropping back is how this will be seen. Lots of good candidates out there and with CC showing that can make the playoffs and win it makes this job more attractive than ever.

Good luck Coach Price and to the CC decision makers.

Agree. Also the field house is complete...something that has never been there while luring coaches in. The facilities are better than they have ever been. I think this will make a difference in the going forward or droping back process. Also Manchester is a much bigger town than it was 20 years ago. There are more possibilities. These factors should lure more big name coaches to town.

  14. Good luck Sequatchie on finding the right guy to bring Sequatchie back to the dominant team in the valley.

On another note, Wardog, the Coffee County job is open. I wish you or your brother would look into it. I think either one of you guys could fit into what Coach Price has left behind really well. Theyve built some really nice facilities. Look into it.
