  1. Who has the most touchdowns during the regular season this year? Jason Hoath of Spring Hill has 27, I know this isn't the most, but who are the others that have over 20 touchdowns?
  2. Jason Hoath finished his senior season with 1322 yards passing and 1017 yards rushing, not including his yards from kickoff returns, and 27 touchdowns. But his stats only tell half the story of what a tremendous player is. [Edited by mbraiders on 11-4-02 9:54A] [Edited by mbraiders on 11-4-02 1:37P]
  3. one of the most underrated players also from Spring Hill is DE/OG Steven Ackley. He doesn't get the media attention like most players of his caliber but Division I schools have certainly taken notice of him. He totally dominates where ever he lines up. From a totally objective standpoint he is twice as good as Brentwood's Steven Jones although slighty smaller.
  4. Congratualtions to Overton. They played very well last night, perhaps the best they have played all year. I only wish Spring Hill could say the same...what a game that would have been. Coach Anderson has done a great job. He is by far one of the classiest coaches in the state. Once again, congratulations to the Bobcats and good luck the rest of the season.
  5. Central is not as good as they believe, but they are more than enough than the Bulldogs can handle. I would like to be proven wrong, but I think Central will handle Hickamn County with relative ease.
  6. I really don't think it matters who jumps out early. Hillsboro scored on the second play of the game against Spring Hill and the Raiders came back to take a 25-22 halftime lead. I think attitude will be the deciding factor in this one. Spring Hill has bought into their new offensive system and are starting to get it together. They now know what they are capable of. Overton has taken care of business thus far, but protecting a undeafeated mark, homecoming, and playing Hillsboro next week is just a distraction to many for the Bobcats. 7. I believe Marshall County has the edge in this one. Page has the atheletes to keep it close but won't. Marshall County will win the battle upfront and control the game. [Edited by mbraiders on 10-16-02 10:08A]
  8. Granted, Overton has good speed but Spring Hill is definately not overmatched in that area. Having watched numerous films on both Overton and Hillsboro, I have to believe Hillsboro is the better team. Overton's and Spring Hill's defenses are very similar in style which makes for a great game also. If both teams bring their A-games, this game will be decided late in the fourth quarter.
  9. Any thoughts on the Spring Hill-Overton matchup? Overton, of course, plays Hillsboro next week and Spring Hill let Hillsboro sqeak by them in the fourth quarter last week. [Edited by mbraiders on 10-15-02 8:37P]
  10. Hillsboro avoided a regional upset by coming back from a 25-22 haltime deficit to beat Spring Hill 36-25.
  11. The ball is dead in the endzone if it is either kicked into the endzone on kickoff or recieved inside the endzone on kickoff. As far as an interception, it is returnable . If a player intercept the ball in the endzone and either downs it or is tackled in the endzone it is a touchback as long as he never left the endzone. If he leaves the endzone and re-enters and downs it or is tackled, it is a safety. The only exception to this would be on and extra point try. On point after attepts the ball is dead once it is turned over.
  12. Having gone against both teams, I believe Lawrence Co. has the edge in this one.
  13. One of the best tight ends in the state is Jon Hickman from Spring Hill. He has only about 10 catches for the season but is averaging over 40yrds a reception.
  14. First and foremost, congratulations to the players and coaches at Central on their win. Not being on to dodge responsibilty for the actions of our team Mr. Williams and I have talked and his also accepts responsibility for his actions as well. Although his action are not excusable in the least, I can sympathize, as being jeered by foul-mouth fans can bring out the worst in people. Nonetheless, Mr. Williams has served his punishment as of today. I personally apoligize to all fans present for the actions of Mr. Williams. Also, let me take the time to thanks a couple of parents from Central that did approach our coaches and apoligize for the actions of both Central players and coaches alike concerning the national anthem incident. It is refreshing to find that kind of class. Finally, whining, I am not. If I were in need of material to further the discussion of poor antics from Columbia, I most certainly could. I am also quite certain I could find plenty of reasonable things to "whine" about. Forgive me if I am the least bit disturbed about "hype sessions" during the national anthem. And as far as being intimidatied by those antics...I'm sorry, most of the players were either laughing or outraged about the whole thing as they watched it transpire.
  15. Football is more than just X and O's. The outcome of the game has nothing to do with the actions prior to. Lack of respect is just that, plain and simple. Had it been the other way around I guarantee I would be much more upset. Thankfully are young men are taught better than that and have coaches who also respect our country. Rather than make excuses as to why things occured as they did, take responsibility... on and off the field.
  16. Loud during the national anthem...it wasn't. This was an embarrassing incident I'm sure, and the blame should be held on account of the coaches and not as much on the players. Regardless, good luck to both teams as both played well.
  17. I have tried to come up with excuses as to why Columbia Central decided to take the field during the playing of the national anthem and have found none. This was simply an unrespectful and classless act. I do hope that this could have somehow been some sort of mistake but I still wonder how.
  18. This game will be played as scheduled. Prior to the game the 1986 State Champions will be honored and the field dedicated to the late Charlie Seaton. [Edited by mbraiders on 10-4-02 1:34P]
  19. Rick Butler is now the co-offensive coordinator qb/rb coach at Sewanee.
  20. Sidenote: Columbia's Courtney Crawford was named last week's AP player of the week, while Spring Hill head coach Mike Mizer was named the Titans' Coach of the Week. [Edited by mbraiders on 10-2-02 11:29A] [Edited by mbraiders on 10-2-02 9:52P] [Edited by mbraiders on 10-4-02 8:39A]
  21. Columbia beat Hillwood 55-10. Spring Hill beat Hillwood 14-7. Last year's score: Columbia 20 Spring Hill 6 This year's prediction: Columbia 21 Spring Hill 26 [Edited by mbraiders on 10-2-02 10:14A]
  22. I believe Centennial will hang around for a while but Franklin will be too much for the Cougars to handle. Good luck to both teams.
  23. I agree, a close game but Spring Hill gets the job done at home.
  24. Any predictions for the big rivalry game between Spring Hill and Columbia? Columbia is winless in the region while Spring Hill is undefeated. Columbia has the most difficult part of their schedule behind them while Spring Hill's toughest challenges still lie ahead. Anyhow, predictions???
  25. Tennessee has already offered Columbia Central LB/FB Fred Sparkman along with a few other SEC schools.
