  1. How can any top ten not include Mt. Pleasant? Theyare the highest scoring team in the state, and I am not a fan of theirs, but I haven't seen them running up the score. They are also in the top 5 in point allowed. Give credit where credit is due. Mt. Pleasant is the real deal folks. Their closest game was Huntland, they pitch a shutout and won by 21 points!
  2. Final Score: Columbia Academy 56 Eagleville 27
  3. Del, whatever happend to personal responsibilty? Now if any act of nature causes an accident this weekend TSSAA should be held accountable? Parent, players, and fans should use there own discretion in decided whether or not to attend games and what to do afterwards. I'm sorry but I must respectfully disagree with you conclusion regarding this topic and TSSAA putting money over safety. If that was the case then I would have to say that they would have moved the games to a rainfree date. Money-wise it makes no sense to play in incliment weather.

    Grass Turf?

The cost to put in a whole field is around $250,000. The University of Oregon did it twice, in back to back years.
  5. Thanks ELA, you just saved me a bunch of typing!
  6. I know this and I have seen Mt. Pleasant play. Mt. Pleasant is a very talented team, but talent alone doesn't win championships, nor does one winning season as of late. But to compare Mt. Pleasant right now to such strong programs as CPA and Boyd is asinine. BBallfan is not disrespecting Mt. Pleasant, he is just stating that they need to take it one game at a time, which is what they need to do.
  7. In order to be successsful Franklin will have to stop three great backs, not just one. However, Columbia will have a tough time defending Frankilin's offense. Much like last year, this one will be a shootout.
  8. Markease Ingram- 10 carries for 124 yards Chris Collier- 9 carries 38 yards Jamie Carroll- 8 Carries for 38 yards Anderson 6 of 9 for 114 yards Nowlin 1 of 2 for 16 yards Ingram 298 All Purpose Yards- 2 kickoff returns for touchdowns- 167 yards and one reception for 7 yards
  9. Columbia-Bigger, Faster, Stronger, More Athletic, and well coached. Lawrence Co. will have a tough time matching up with the Lions.
  10. Mt. Pleasant is a very talented team. They did defeat Spring Hill, which is 4A, but a very poor 4A team. They have the talent to make noise in the playoffs, but they are not yet to the level of Boyd, and CPA.
  11. Yes this is true. Longtime Mt. Pleasant coach Eddie Bassham, who led the Tigers to the state baseball finals, will take on the task of starting a program from scratch.
  12. Ha, the last time Hillsboro lost that many "key" players they won a state championship. Hillsboro will be the region favorite and a strong contender for the state title for at least the next four years. They are loaded with young talent and excellent coaches.
  13. As an unbiased observer, I must say that Alcoa is loaded with young talent this year. There are by far the most physically gifted 2A teams I have seen. They have the talent to compete with any team in the state regardless of classification, but talent alone doesn't win games. In order for Alcoa to beat Maryville, they will have to outcoach them, which is something that is very seldom done. The only downside I see the this Alcoac team is that thet are not a very disiplined bunch. But best of luck to both teams.
