  1. Pope John Paul beat Brentwood Academy 5-0. Then, Pope John Paul had to play Davidson Academy immediately afterwards. I'm not sure what the score was of that game, or even who won. But the winner moves on to play Father Ryan in the championship game on Thursday; and the loser of the PJP and DA game is the #3 seed for the middle division at the state.

    DIVISION II

Very well put. It's nice to see that there's 3 of us that know about Chelsea. And I'm also glad to see that I'm not the only one that follows her around. I'll be in Southaven next week for one purpose--to watch her play ball. Likewise, she was the only reason I went to the state last year. If you haven't seen her play, well then you're missing out on one in a million. I've already made the 3-hour drive to Cordova twice this year to watch FACS play. You said you haven't seen any better catcher anywhere...well that's because they don't exist. Chelsea and Stephanie are the best pitcher/catcher duo I've ever seen--and that's both ways. To the one that asked about her summer team, she's playing with a new team this year...but sorry I forgot the name of the team. Good luck next week #10 and #31...and all of the Crusaders!

Yeah, she's the fastest I've seen anywhere. But as to your question, it's not so much that she slaps. One at-bat she might bunt, the next she might slap, then the next she might hit. It always depends on the situation as to what she's going to do. And that's part of the reason she's so hard to defend--you never know what she's going to do.

I can tell you that you can't get out their lead-off batter (#10). You can try I guess, but you will be unsuccessful in doing so.

    DIVISION II

trasb, thank you a ton for being the only other person that sees what I see. Apparently nobody else gets around much...or maybe it's just that nobody cares about Division II. The fact is that CHELSEA BRAMLETT IS THE BEST PLAYER IN ALL OF TENNESSEE...and I would personally even venture to say an area of our country much larger than just our state. There are threads on here all the time with titles like "best catcher in the state" and "best hitter in the state" and "faster runner in the state"...well any question with the words: "best in the state," CHELSEA BRAMLETT IS ALWAYS THE ANSWER. I have never bothered to post anything on any such threads because I know most people don't have a clue. So, trasb, I don't know who you are, but thanks for agreeing with what I've been saying for the 2 years I've known Chelsea. Oh and Chelsea, why stop at the SEC when you can have your choice of PAC10 schools! Good luck Chelsea and Stephanie at state!!
  6. "Poor coaching by Brentwood by thinking they had this game in the bag. They started their no. 3 pitcher...and eventually put in their no 2 pitcher and watched her give up 6 runs in the last inning. Two dropped fly balls didnt help either, but I guess they are saving their no. 1 pitcher for next year." First, you said it was poor coaching that caused Brentwood to get beat because they started who you referred to as "their number 3 pitcher." Then, you said the second pitcher Brentwood brought into the game "gave up 6 runs in the last inning." Then finally, you went on to say that BHS dropped two fly balls (in the last inning). You mean to tell me that an 8-3 lead going into the 7th inning was caused by "poor coaching" and a pitcher "giving up 6 runs"?? It seems to me as though it was errors that changed the outcome of this game. So please, before talking about a pitcher "giving up" any number of runs to lose a game, let's first make sure we know how many were in fact given up by the pitcher--vs. how many were allowed by defensive errors. Because this game was not lost by a pitcher. Oh, and BigChief, I LOVE your signature. It reminds me of a certain person at MJHS.

    DIVISION II

So FACS and St. Benedict play each other on Tuesday? If that's right, let me know how that game turns out, and also when the game is between the two losers to decide who gets that third spot from the West. Good luck Crusaders!

    BA

Shelby pulled a muscle in her stomach while she was pitching...she's going to be out for a couple more weeks. Right now Sam Little is doing the pitching. Sam isn't a bad pitcher at all...they're just gonna have to have the defense make plays behind her.

    BA

BA definitely does have the pitching. The things that may keep them from the State are their defense to back up the pitching, and their hitting--or lack thereof. 3 players aren't enough to strongly compete in the D2 middle region.

    BA

I don't know how far they will go this year because they lost two good ball players...but as far as the second part of the question, BA's top players are senior Shelby Mashburn and juniors Jessica Hesson and Samantha Little.
  11. Sorry, but I absolutely hate typing things wrong so I just had to fix a couple things here... I am Carmen's brother so she gets very little prase from me; but for those of you who have listed her as the fastest person or one of the fastest persons in the state, you're not quite right. Carmen is the third fastest player I've seen. From home to first Brittany Gooch is THE FASTEST. But overall, tiger1616 is 100% right! From home to first Chelsea Bramlett is second to only Gooch, but overall there is NOBODY as fast as Chelsea Bramlett from home to home...and I guarantee you she gets from home to home more than anybody else in the state. So overall, the fastest three I've seen are (in order): Chelsea Bramlett, Brittany Gooch, and then Carmen Gulley. I actually enjoy watching Chelsea Bramlett lay down bunts and the infield not being able to throw her out at first base...And slap-hits in Gooch's case.

  13. Thank you SballFanatic20. Please continue to update this thread when you have more information. Was the FACS pitcher that was hurt Chelsea Bramlett or the other girl (whose name I don't know)?
  14. Does anyone know how the Division II - West region is going? When the championship game is and who's in it?
  15. In the Nashville area you've got the Firebirds, Wild Things, and Elite. The Elite may be staying at 16u, but even if they move up to 18u they'll be fairly competitive. There may be some others, but there's just very few good teams in 18u ball (well not like in the younger ages anyways).
