  1.

Well how can you not totally agree with a poll thats 120% correct? Thats 20% better than 100% and I didn't even think you could do better than 100% but I have figured out a way. ....

So you could have between 2 and 3 teams wrong on your new 12 team poll and STILL be 100% correct! I am in awe, sir! You da man!!!! (Although I'm a little bit confused about your 66.67% score on the Big Ones....)

  2. Wingman is a straight up legend on the T. He knows everyone and something about every program and its history and tradition. He is a good man to boot. His battles on here with fans from Coffee County and Siegel are classic!! The T just wouldn't be the T without wingman around. I am proud to call him my friend.

Thanks....we go way back. You have been a friend thru good and bad.

It is painful to know that the Falcons and Coach Thompson are going thru this kind of a season.

Coach Thompson is a class guy. He is one of my all time favorite coaches.

True words - real fans will support them as best we can.

Hey wingman - I can't receive PMs...you can try emailing me though.

  3. Griping about the coaches has been popular on this board over the years - lecturing the folks that do it is an exercise in futility - they can't seem to understand that attacking the coaches anonymously on a message board during the season only serves to divide the team and drive morale further down. Suggesting that the gripers wait until the off season or develop the cajones to come out of their hidey-hole and gripe in a public forum where they lose their anonymity does no good.

They just don't get or don't care that they're potentially making things worse.

  4. Lincoln County has been known to get up for this game (then again the Falcons have been known to lay down for it also). At the beginning of the season I was hoping to put this game in the W column, but absent some serious adjustments across the board (that may or may not be possible) this team will struggle to get a W all season long.

That won't stop me from rooting for them all season long though, cuz you just never know, so here's to hoping that they play 4 hard quarters of football Friday night!!!!

  5. I'm sure Blaze fans want to see it again...Smyrna fans prolly want to see it...humble Falcon fans like myself don't need to see it (the "laying on of hands" approach to tackling (NOT!) just isn't my thing)....

I don't know what kind of defense Blackman faced against Tullahoma, but a decent defense that can tackle and only allows one quarterback draw up the middle for a few yards (rather than three for 20+ yards plus a TD...arrrrgggghhhhh!!!!!!!) will give the Blaze some competition - and Blackman players ought to be thinking about that before they get much farther down the road....

  6. according to the dnj Blackman had over 300 yards rushing in the first half... :roflol:

Not surprising...racking up a lot of yards rushing is easy when the opposition doesn't know how to tackle....

Granted, the Falcons are young this year, and the tackling improved somewhat in the second half (although methinks that a team should be making other kinds of adjustments in the second half that rise above the basics), but we're in for a long year....

There seemed to be a general lack of enthusiasm - some of the players were giving it all they had, but a lot weren't...not good.

Congrats to the Blaze - y'all have a fast and talented team that keeps at it in every play until the whistle blows! You should make a good run in the playoffs!

  7.

"Bighorns" like a trumbone or a tuber, who eats a "slaw burger" sounds like we should bring some BBQ, what's been way too long, you talking bout panny hose... I'm confused.

    Good Luck Tonight Men!

    We are Blackman!

    1. Bighorns...see picture below.

    2. I'll be more than happy to try your BBQ if you try our slaw burger - I'm easy to find - I'm the guy wearing the Coacht tee shirt.

    3. Don't know anything about panny hose, but it's been way too long since the Falcons played football.

    4. I hope the Blaze is as confused as you are!!!

  8. Lincoln County has a young team this year - not a lot of starters back. After the drubbing the Blaze gave Tullahoma I hope the Falcons keep the mistakes and turnovers down - Blackman obviously knows how to take advantage of that. If LC plays solid it'll be a good game - if they don't it'll be ugly.

  9. ....

Lincoln County as the Lions CLub is not running the concessions this year are the burgers still going to be good?

    ....

We're playing at Riverdale this year LOD...the burgers are still good though. Also, I finally tried my hand at some charcoal-grilled baby back ribs earlier this summer and they were quite good, if I may say so myself...maybe next year we could have a (small since I can't afford a large one) pregame BBQ! You'd be in charge of culling the guest list!

  10. Wouldn't you have thought they'd have it figured out before now?

I'm pretty sure they've figured it out. But as this board reflects, it is new, different, and in some cases a bit complicated, so they are continuing to try to help school people figure it out. They also will be conducting the regular administrators' meetings in late August and early September, so they probably are trying to get something out in advance of those meetings so administrators can ask follow-up questions.

Hopefully they will do a better job answering the administrators than they did the sportswriters.

  11. Has this feature been disabled for the change?

I suspect that the PM feature on this new board is available to all registered users by default. It's most likely been turned off until iamoz (the programmer) modifies the software such that only Plus members are able to use it.

That's just speculation on my part - I may be full of crap. :roflolk:

  12. To be released by the TSSAA the first week in August will be an online presentation discussing the new football format and sample district standings with explanation of how teams qualify.

Hopefully they understand it well enough now to explain it to thick-headed folks like me, but I bet when we get to the first week in November there's gonna be some angry folks with some legitimate gripes...a real "Trick or Treat" experience awaits us...especially if TSSAA issues clarifications then that contradict what they're gonna tell us next week.

I can hear Professor Chaos laughing....

  13. Good work. Thanks

    ....

I am considering adding Red Boiling Springs vs Oakdale but don't want RBS fans to think I am making fun. They do have the longest losing streak in the country, do they not, but maybe have a chance against Oakdale who was 2-8 last year. I know nothing about Oakdale but would like for RBS to win one soon.

Add 'em Coach! I think they'd be honored! They haven't had many opportunities to show up in the Big Ones - I'll be rooting for the Bulldogs all season long!

  15. CoachT I don't know what changed but my plus membership seems to be inactive. That or I can no longer access private messages.

    Wave88

You are a Plus member. Do you not see a (0 New Messages) link at the top left?

I don't see that either now that you mention it. I hadn't thought about it. :hungry:

Just checked and when I clicked on Private Messages and it says "You are not authorised to send private messages." Authorized is spelled wrong as well.

That would be the British spelling of authorized...like colour. OnlineLC must be involved in this operation. :thumb:

  16. Let me lay out an example. Suppose that District 14-A (chosen randomly) finishes in the order of Earl Nall's ratings:

    1. Humboldt (2A)

    2. Union City (1A)

    3. Peabody (2A)

    4. Lake County (1A)

    5. Halls (1A)

    6. Greenfield (1A)

    7. South Fulton (1A)

Humboldt, as district winner, is a 2A gold team, which is an absolute automatic. Union City is a silver team for the 1A playoffs, which is a guaranteed bid in any class except 2A (and 99.6% guaranteed even there). There are no 2A bronze teams (since only one was available, and it's superseded by Humboldt's gold). In 1A, there are two bronze slots available; one is trumped by Union City's silver, but the other is awarded, to Lake County. Peabody, Halls, Greenfield, and South Fulton must hope for wild cards.

That doesn't jive with the information in the link I posted...I'm confused again. :hungry:
