  1. Congrats to you TN guys!! Awesome showing --- and I agree with deaddux about 145.....3 AA's in one weight is unbelievable! I hate that Mang faced Keaton Thompson in the freakin' Championship Quarters. They both go all the way to PA to show that they both belong at the top nationally. We ended up with 5 AA's in the Sophomores. Championship Finals (1st/2nd place) start at 6:00pm Central Time. 119 Keaton Thompson (Alabama) vs Matt Brown (Utah) 135 Chase Cuthbertson (Alabama) vs Donnie Tasser (Pennsylvania) 145 Kyle Cuthbertson (Alabama) vs Ethan Smith (Utah) All-American Finals (3rd-8th place) 5th/6th place 112 Steven West (Alabama) vs Pat LeVasseur (Minnesota) *West defeated LeVasseur 3-0 in the Championship Quarterfinals; Good luck in the re-match! 7th/8th place 140 Matt Petkovich (Alabama) vs Beau Sanders (Kentucky)
  2. Friday: If you have DishNetwork or DirecTV satellite, and have ESPNU, you can watch the Quarterfinals live and the Semifinals live. Both will be repeated. If you have CSS (Comcast or Charter cable), you can watch the Semifinals live. The NCAA has given clearance for several regional stations to carry the Semis live. Check your local listing. Saturday: Everyone can watch the Finals live on ESPN. If I find out more, I will try to list it at AlabamaWrestling.Net
  3. DI brackets will be released Monday, March 13. Look for them around 4:00pm or 5:00pm today. The NCAA site will release/post them first. All other major websites will follow. They all have them but can't post them until after the NCAA does. Some kind of NCAA rule or some garbage like that. Take your pick (all will have a link when they're posted): http://www.ncaasports.com/wrestling/mens/schedules/divi http://www.themat.com/index.php?...leID=14165 http://www.intermatwrestle.com/college/cov...mpionships.aspx

  5. Hamm- Hope you make it! My plans (which included 'Zax' and you and whomever else we could squeeze in) fell through. Way too much else between last year and this year for me to make the trip. I'll be recording everything I can from ESPNU --- hopefully on tape and/or disc --- so you're welcome to copies of it. Holla one big 'GO MOCS' for me & Zax if you don't mind. Sad about not going this year.
  6. If you have questions, please contact Coach Rod Gaddy (205.937.6559) or Tony Brindley (205.289.6157). Final details for the Dixie Duals should be announced on Monday, March 6 or Tuesday, March 7. Weigh-ins will be Thursday, March 23 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm Central Time. Optional weigh-in will be Friday, March 24 from 7:00am until 8:00am Central Time. 2-day tournament pass for spectators is expected to be $15 instead of the $25 as it has been at Camp Jordan. No card (USA, AAU, or other) will be required. This tournament will be run as an independent tournament with a separate insurance policy. K-8 will get +2 lb. for body and +1 lb. for singlet. -(50 lb. becomes 53 lb. weighing in wearing singlet) 9-12 will get +5 lb. for body and +1 lb. for singlet. -(103 lb. becomes 109 lb. weighing in wearing singlet) You can have the details e-mailed directly to you if you drop Tony Brindley a note requesting it. You can request it by e-mailing him at tandjbrin[at]aol.com That's all I know for now.
  7. That is correct. It is a 'go'. It will be similar to the format of the FCI Challenge Cup --- but is now called the Dixie Duals. Last I heard, effort would be made to stick to the FCI weights and age divisions. If I hear otherwise, I'll post here. I know there was an issue regarding weight classes as most kids were expecting to wrestle in the traditional FCI weights. Thought was given to switching to USA weights. However, I know this was a problem for our Team Alabama Qualifier tournament a couple of years ago as there are weights that exist in USA that do not exist in FCI and vice versa. For now..... What: Dixie Duals Wrestling Tournament Where: Vestavia Hills High School (Vestavia Hills-Birmingham, AL) When: Friday-Saturday, March 24-25, 2006 Ages/Weights: same as those traditionally used at the FCI Challenge Cup Commitments: Alabama (all age groups), Georgia (all age groups), Tennessee (all age groups), South Carolina (currently only MS & HS, but they're working on all ages) Contacts have been made to Florida, North Carolina, and Virginia but none of those 3 have confirmed as of yet.
  8. C.Calloway- My understanding for now is that it will be hosted at a high school --- but one with multiple gyms on the same campus, if possible. I don't think there is any interest in paying a substantial fee to host at a larger facility (e.g., BJCC, UAB Arena, Fair Park Arena). chattwrestle- My understanding for now is that it will involve all age groups --- same as though we were still wrestling at Camp Jordan in East Ridge. The effort is to stick with the same ages and same weights.
  9. chattwrestle- Check your Inbox. I sent you a private message (and got a phone call immediately after sending it). Looks like it's on. Just got word that the work is being put in to put together a 'Challenge Cup' style tournament in Birmingham. Teams will be from AL, TN, GA, and SC. Working on getting VA and FL. Also, the SC team consists of only 7th-12th grade at the moment --- trying to get them to bring K-6th as well.
  10. rigger- They didn't have the 'current entries' list up yesterday.....but they do today. Click here for the official list of NHSCA Senior Nationals entries. Nick Reveiz (215) is listed along with Kellen Holliman (140) and Tom Minwell (189). I would assume that mtnrasslin is correct on those 3 named --- they just haven't submitted their entry or NHSCA hasn't received it yet. Click here for the official list of NHSCA Junior Nationals entries. Entries listed so far: Demetrius Johnson (112), Ben Johnson (125), Jason McCroskey (125), Ulrich Winesburgh (135), Jarriett Toney (140), Hunter Campbell (145), Justin Spain (145), Colt Kittrell (152), Daniel Waddell (152), Tyler Robinson (171), Frankie Morgan (189), Matt Lettner (215) Click here for the official list of NHSCA Sophomore Nationals entries. Entries listed so far: Chris Bradbury (103), David Mang (119), Ryan Konz (135), Hunter Campbell (145), Danny Tolbert (160)
  11. 2nd hand information here.....but it's what I was told this morning. I expected McDaniel to postpone or reschedule --- but not to cancel altogether. We are exploring other options, so the kids don't completely miss out on mat time. Sure we have some going to Pittsburgh, PA for the NHSCA Senior/Junior/Sophomore Nationals.......but what about the other kids? Younger kids need mat time too. Other Sr./Jr./Soph. kids who aren't at the level (or financially able) to go to NHSCA need mat time too. If I find out more or if I hear otherwise, I'll post here.
  12. FYI- They did air the Army/Navy dual tape delayed on Sunday evening. If any of you missed it, they will repeat it. (Check CSTV's schedule.) Navy 24 ~ Army 9 125: William Simpson (A) dec. Alex Usztics, 5-4 *133: Joe Baker (N) tech. fall Frank Baughan, 19-4 (5:43) 141: Spencer Manley (N) maj. dec. Whitt Dunning, 11-2 149: Patrick Simpson (A) dec. 13. silverpie- Thanks. My fault on the link. I should have paid closer attention to BigRedBlooded's original question in needing point breakdowns for placing 6 (not 4).
  14. Check out Henry County (GA) Warhawk Wrestling's rule page. (Click the link.) The table titled 'Dual Meet and Tournament Scoring Match' should answer any of your scoring questions. Hope it helps.
  15. Straight from GoArmySports.com, the meet has been indefinitely postponed. The 1st slot scheduled (Sunday afternoon/evening) for Army/Lehigh wrestling was filled with Gonzaga/Stanford men's hoops. The 2nd slot scheduled (red-eye early hours Monday morning) for Army/Lehigh wrestling was filled with Vanderbilt/Tennessee women's hoops. There is a 3rd slot scheduled for early Tuesday morning........but unless they find a way to wrestle today (unlikely), that one will be filled with another hoops game. They (CSTV) are expecting to air LIVE! the Army/Navy dual this Saturday.
  16. Reminder: Today (Sunday, Feb. 12) *ESPNU will air 3 duals. One of those duals will be #1-ranked Minnesota vs #2-ranked Oklahoma State. The 3rd scheduled is Army vs Lehigh. All 3 are (were) scheduled and aired today with repeats beginning tonight and on through midnight. *CSTV will replay the Training Camp: Oklahoma State Wrestling documentary. (Nice documentary, by the way.) ESPNU: http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/tvlisting...ork=34&sport=WR CSTV: http://www.cstv.com/cgi-bin/tvsched.cgi?sp...nference=&game=
  17. Sounds like another good one! Info is also available here. Links to Coaches Bios have been updated and the downloadable/printable registratioin form (.doc format) is now online as well. Good luck with the camp!
  18. No prob. Glad to help. Not sure on the individual matchups at the Fort Payne Duals against Murray County, Chattooga, or LaFayette. Murray had a forfeit at 103 unless Padgett dropped from 112 in late December. As far as vs TN guys, he won the McGavock Invitational, and they'll be at the Central-Chattanooga Invitational this weekend (which may be why you ask?). I never saw full results from the Huntsville Invitational, so he may have wrestled Randolph (Bradley Central).....but if he did, he lost since Randolph won the tournament.
  19. All I know about it is posted here. Without seeing or knowing the Soddy/Homewood or Soddy/Ft. Payne scores.....I can assure you that they drilled both of them this year.
  20. Follow this link: Ravenwood Invitational 2006 Pretty sure he'll have up as much as possible as soon as possible.

  22. Thanks for the head's up! It's not currently listed on ESPNU's info page.....but I would expect as much. Also, don't forget to keep up with CSTV's schedule. They will be airing a Cornell/Michigan dual in early January and an Oklahoma State/Missouri dual in late January. Click here to check CSTV's wrestling broadcast schedule.
  23. Still here. By the way, I didn't say they'd win......but I did warn everyone to watch for them. (Told you so.)
  24. I can't say for certain who will be there, but I can tell you who was there last year. 2004 Bradley Central Invitational (Cleveland, TN) I can also tell you that Hoover & Huntsville will be there. Spain Park will not be there. I can also tell you that Hoover will be fairly solid through the lower-to-mid weights. Pope, Osborn, Romano, Arafeh, Pendleton = ones from Hoover to watch for Good luck to everyone!
