  1. I do wonder why they have things set up the way they do now, making fans drive 2 hours to watch their boy play one nigh then turn around and drive it again the next night to drive 2 hours again to watch the girls play. It seems to me things could be adjusted somehow.

  2. Normally i dont answer ignorant posts like this but I will do it this one time. Do you understand the game of basketball? If you're down towards the end of the game a team will foul to put the other team on the line to stop the clock and hope the other team misses so they have a chance to win. The problem I have with this call was the one biased ref would not call a foul. We fouled him going for the ball 4 times but there was no whistle. Fans are screaming for this ref to blow the whistle but he didnt so the player shoved the other player trying to get the clock stopped. The biased ref then called it intentional. One foul shot was made JC is down 2 with 3 seconds to go Watertown inbounds the ball we foul but no whistle they just ran off the court and then Watertowns finest took the floor facing ONLY the Jackson County side. I wonder why?

I do understand. And I agree that a foul should have been called earlier, but the correct call was made on the intentional. I do not know what you mean by the "Watertowns finest" i missed something. I posted that because it appeared in the post that the original poster couldnt believe that it was called intentional when it clearly was. I do not think it was the best called game but I though it was consitently called bad for both sides at times. Again I was impressed with the Heart the JC boys showed in fighting back.

A lot of High Schools host Region ball games. Its not always due to just the size of the gym, but also the amount of fire exits.

  3. how does anyone propose the neutral sight be decided? What do you consider a neutral sight, a gym that is not the home of anyone in the region? Or wait until the regional teams are determined and then pick a gym to host? That is unheard of and irrational.

Was Watertown a favorite to get to regionals? Was it 100% that Watertown would get to regionals? Schools submit to have the regionals at their facility at least one year in advance maybe more and it is usually alternated from one district to the other.

No hard times, but when they shove the kid completely out of bounds the way that kid did there is no other call that can be made, grabbing, bumping, smacking an arm, whatever is fine. But that was an intentional foul plain and simple. I posted this to laugh at the fact that he was admitting it was intentional and was obviously at the game and to call it anything other than intentional is hilarious to me.

  4. It was a bad call and had it been turned around a Watertown fan would have said the same thing. We were trying to foul. We fouled him 3 or 4 times before the intentional foul was called. It's like he waited until we did something drastic an then called it intentional. Then with 3 seconds to go in the game we foul again but no call and time ran out. This is why a team should not be allowed to host a game of this magnatude. The one ref was biased and it showed. He represented well. Watertown played hard they are a good team with a very good coach and I hope they go on to win it all. JC had their chances we had the ball down one with 25 seconds to go and turn it over so some of the blame falls on us but the one ref clearly decided the outcome and thats what hurts.

Lets see, you admit you were trying to foul and cant understand why an intentional foul was called. hmmmmm

I am not even from Watertown and I laugh at this. I was at the game, it was the correct call. JC did a great job fighting back and showing a lot of heart but the refs had nothing to do with the outcome.

  5. No one cries about this in Football and every game in the football play offs has a team with the home field advantage. If you dont like it then start hosting in one of your gyms when it is your districts turn to host.

  6. Sense you seem to know so much about lipscomb, You should know better than to make a stupid projection like this. MC has no chance in this game. Book it dano. It is obvious you are from East tn

I was not making a projection. I was responding to the guy who made the projection and said he had never missed one. And I am not from east TN I am from Macon originally and live in Smith now.

  7. Don't know how the game will turn out but my hats off to the boys on the hill. It sure is good to see things improving up there. I sure hope to see the Tigers extend the season another week. Nothing against DL but as a former MC player and coach I got to pull for the tigers. I sure wish I could be there tonight.

  8. I have never missed a projection in all my years of looking at games. I called state championships for several years. Again most of the champions will come from the east. This game will be a close one. Remember Lipscomb was humbled in their opener by of all people Page. People think McCadams recruits...well if he does he needs to be fired. I think his offensive line averages about 190 pounds. If he recruits he could surely do better. This game will be decided on the field. Lipscomb's grass is like most others...still some green but now a lot of brown. Their stadium is nice but not like most other private schools with college type locker rooms or artificial turf. Lipscomb is actually a poor church of Christ school. The game will be a tough one. Really too close for the expert to call...although my gut is feeling like a Macon county upset here....

Never missed a projection, dang you should be able to make some money. :D

  9. I would like the macon fans to learn how to respond to a game like all of the smith co boys have on here....ALL OF YOU ARE CLASS ACTS

Thanks Geo.....MOST of us try to act with a tiny bit of class. Myself....I just love HS football. It's the greatest sport at it's purest form. Sometimes, every once in a while, we (all) forget what it is and what it's really all about. One thing it teaches (and should teach the fans as well as the kids)is how to win with diginity and lose with grace.I have fun on the T poking, and jawing back and forth. I'm guessing and hoping most know it's all in fun. I'm always behind the kids in this area,SC--G-ville-TC-MC-RBS-Watertown.All of them. Anyway, has anybody tried beer-can Crow? Think I'll try it for supper tonight. :hungry:

Great post Termite. As a former Macon County boy I am excited to see things starting to turn around and Congrats on a big win. You have seen what it takes to win now. Keep up the hard work and get some more this season. Good luck Owls, I hope both teams can win out and make the play-offs. It may be the only chance I get to watch either team play.

  10. All this comparing scores really means nothing. Watertown was a much healthier ball team when they played FCS than they were when they played WHH or ER. ER has a very talented team, but I seen a great deal of individualism on that team as well. I question how they will handle adversity, and it will come their way against FCS. If they can play as a team, keep their focus, and play 4 quarters it will be a close and good game. If not FCS will win by 21 points or more. Either way I am picking FCS. Lets see how much dancing around, nodding the head up and down, running around with his helmet off so he can be seen number (well I wont put his # that would be slamming a player and I will not do that), but lets see how much he gets to do that this week. You want see that out of FCS. Their players will be focused on the task at hand. They will not be focused on themselves as an Individual. They play as a team.

  11. You can't count on the "who beat who" thing. If so Sycamore only beat Macon by 1 in OT with Macon missing every extra point. Goodpasture beat Macon by more than 30. It all means nothing for the Sycamore Goodpasture game. You still have to line up and play. It will all come down to who executes the best. Back to the topic. I expect the Wildcats by a couple of TDs in this one but the Tigers are improving every week and I am hoping this is the week they break out. Keep up the Good work Goolsby. Never count out the Tigers.

  12. HE HAS AS MUCH BUSINESS BEING IN CHARGE OF SOMETHING AS YOU DO. NONE PERIOD!

Why are you making this about me for? I was just saying that a person's ability to be a coach has nothing to do with their abilty to be an administrator. I have known great principals that were terrible Coaches, and great coaches that made terrible principals. He has not even had a try at the administration thing and someone has already started on him. You all got what you wanted, he is no longer Coaching. Why can't it be left alone and lets talk football.

Anyone know how the players are responding to Goolsby and what the attitude in the locker room is like?

  13. Ole Me. I hope what im hearing isn't true about asst. principle. Were going to see how smart our ADDMINISTRATION is. COME on use your heads. If someone can't handle 40 kids, how can they handle a 1000.

Are you saying that there were behavior problems on the field last year? His abilty to be an assistant principal has nothing to do with his coaching. Sounds to me like you have something personal against the man.

  14. Im not saying it was that bad. your taking me wrong and you have a good attitude, but this was a single A school. mACON HAS SOME TOUGH SCHOOLS AHEAD. A bunch of them should be better than watertown. Now you get the picture.

I think you misunderstood me as well. I did not mean to make it sound like I thought you were bashing or anything, I just thought I seen a few more positives is all. By the way, Watertown will be 2-A this fall, I know we are no where near the level of some of the teams you will be playing, but you all will be much better in the fall than you are now if everyone will continue working hard. Good luck Macon.

  15. I thought the scrimmage went a little better for Macon than Goldenrod, not saying that I know more than golden, but here is my input. Coach Goolsby has had basically 8 days of practice time to put in a new and very complicated offense. It takes a while with the Tony Franklin system. Our boys have been running it here at Watertown for about three years. Macon started off really slow but once the QBs settled down a little things improved. I seen boys playing their back sides off and watched them get better on the offensive side as the scrimmage went on. People are going to have to be patient, but they will improve greatly before the season starts. There were some great catches made by some of the Macon recievers last night as well. As far as the score, we actually only scored 2 TDs when the starters were on the field and Macon actually scored first. Our third TD came with the 2nd teams in. As far as parents helping Coach, the only parents I seen on the field were helping spot the football. I did not see any helping coach ( but I could have missed it standing on the sidelines for part of the scrimmage ). My hats off to Goolsby, I thought his boys seemed to be motivated and they played with lots of Heart. I also think he has done a great job getting this offense in as well as he has in the amount of time he has been there.

I was also impressed with the sportsmanship the boys from Macon showed last night. Very classy group of guys. Good luck Macon, believe in yourself, your team, and your Coaches and you will see great things happen over the next few years.

  16. You can expect a last year Lookout Valley team. Which may be stretching it some.

I would say that is stretching it a lot. Clay County is no where near as good as last years Lookout Valley team. Not meaning to put down the Bulldogs, but they are not to that level yet. However, they are a team on the rise and I think they have the potential to get back to the level they were at in the late 80s and early 90s.

  17. How would you like for your name to be Scott Brewer. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />

That makes no sense, my name is Scott Brewer. I do not understand why you are asking that question when you and everyone else knows who I am. You did not figure that out, I have always, since joining this thread, told who I am. I am not ashamed of that and will not hide behind a computer screen. If you dont want your name on here I guess I can understand that so I will be in Lafayette tomorrow mowing 2 yards on Ellington Drive about 1/2 of a mile from the Scottsville Road. Just look for the same Red Toyota truck I have been driving for years and swing by and let me know who you are. I will probably be at Paul Kirby's between 7 and 8 getting a hair cut and for the next three hours I will be mowing those yards. See ya then. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

westmoreland they run the wing t or the veer. the veer came for the wing t so to make it clear the wing t /veer.

Understand, I have always looked at Westmoreland just as a WingT, but I understand what you are saying.

  18. FOR 1 THE COUNTYS AROUND, RUN THE VEER AND WIN. 15 MILES FROM HERE AND YOU ARE TELLING ME THAT WE CAN'T RUN IT WITH THE SAME OR EVEN BETTER PLAYERS. FOR 2 BE PATIENT HOW LONG IS THAT WHEN FROGS FLY. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

Who runs the veer in the counties around?

  19. If you are familiar with RBS you know that the only available land is just as I described. No soccer fields, only farmland. That practice field could be made into a good one with several hundred loads of dirt. Which I will say the county road commission did provide RBS about 80 or 90 loads of topsoil in 2000-2001 to help level up the game field.

If the right coach comes along, RBS will be a winner and that coach will be a legend.

I will agree that the Coach that turns that program around will be a legend. I would like to see the current staff do it.
