I don't have a dog in this race but is it fair to say Upperman tanked? They swept Stone in the regular season but won those games 45-42 and 41-35. Losing 47-39 after those scores doesn't sound unbelievable. The unfortunate part of consolation night is that if you lose folks just assume you were tanking.

Exactly. And give credit to Coach Buck and this team for continuing to believe. CCHS also swept Stone during the regular season, yet Stone beat them in the first round of the tournament to put them out. Stone is also one of very few teams to beat White County  ( AT Sparta)during the regular season. Distric 7AAA has been fairly even across the board, and any of those teams could be others on any given night.

Greeneville ran SS. It was never close. Too many options to shoot the ball for Greeneville. Clearly the better team in the championship game. How many seniors they have? Is Fulton the clear favorite for next season? Their main guys were young. SS graduates a lot of kids. But they will reload like always. Stone was impressive. Out of the 8 3A teams that made it this year who returns the most kids?

Stone returns all but one. Whittenburg is a senior this year.

I can’t believe that Stone kept this game so close. Props to them. I looked over Greenevilles schedule last night and they have beat some really good teams

After watching Stone mature over the course of this season, I wasn't surprised to see them fight back and make it a back and forth game. I'm glad they didn't get the memo that they were supposed to get blown out. :)

Yes hats off to Stone. Impressive performance.

Thank you. They've been underestimated all season ( preseason picked to finish 6th in our district), and they really started to click after Christmas. They're not flashy, but they've been consistent and sound since January. I was glad to see them take Greeneville down to the wire. We lose one senior. I hope to see them make another run next year.

This is good game it sure is not a blow out

Super proud of the panthers. They’re a gritty young bunch who defied all expectations ( except their own.)They were picked to finish 6th in the district preseason- and were regular season champs, district tourney runner- up, region champs, and final four in the state. Best of luck to the remaining teams. Hope to see us back at the glass house again this time next year.

I let that go yesterday, but there is no doubt in my mind that Stone is superior to White.

I wasn't meaning anything toward either team- just that the LadyCavs, IMO, is a close close third to the other two. I hope that made sense.

White Co was best team without Buck . Bradley will beat Stone . They will pressure their guards and have two big posts that will hurt Miller . Won't stop her , but will slow her down . Just my thinking .

The scoreboard shows otherwise.  The best TEAM hit clutch shots and made defensive plays even without their starting PG. Stone came out a little unsure of their new dynamic, and it showed in the first half with some typically easy shots being missed, but Freitag and Goss really stepped up when and where it counted, which is why the best TEAM won that game and is moving on. Just my thinking. Bradley may beat Stone. They may not. Regardless, the best two TEAMS are in the finals, even though I really think the Lady Cavs could have easily been in that mix as well.

I’m not a facebooker so I haven’t seen it, but I personally really don’t like that kind of stuff. Play the game.  That’s it.  I didn’t like the student section being being mouthy with the Cookeville fans either (just as I didn’t like the Cookeville fans being mouthy with the student section). Play the game and cheer, but be classy.

Agree. Student section to student section- ok that's fun and sometimes really funny. But the rest- yep

The main side across from the benches was not “full”.  I get wanting to sit close to your team but in this day and age that’s not an option.  Sure you can sit in that partial area behind the benches if you chose, but it’s harder to get to and the space is limited.  If you noticed it was the same behind our bench.  The Bradley fans sitting behind the Cookeville bench were parents that sit there routinely, not out of necessity.

As for the Facebook page, which one is it?  Was it the BC nation? Because that one is run by a student, not the school or the Bearettes.

Not BC Nation. Bradley Central High School page- the one where the games are streamed and there are other posts about people receiving DAR awards and some other things.

    TIMEOUT.

That’s horse poop.  ALL the fans had the opportunity to sit on the same side.  The  Cookeville fans chose to sit up there behind their bench.  There were also BRADLEY fans sitting up there too.  The only Bradley specific area was the student section that has been roped off for the last several games.

    That’s a bush league complaint.

That's why I asked if there was another option? My classy comment was the fact that it's the bradley central fb page cover photo now

Man, what a great night of basketball!  The Lady Cavs gave Bradley all they had on Bradley’s home court but came up one shy in OT.  White gave Stone a great run as well. It was close til the end. Now a Bradley/Stone matchup. I call Stone. Miller is just a strong force to be reckoned with. I know Bradley has two strong posts but I still think Miller will show them up. Will Buck be able to play?

I have heard she is out  against Bradley for sure. I wondered how the team would respond without her tonight, and to me they looked a bit nervous at first, but they found their groove and their fight. Tonight was a HARD fought game, and I’m super proud of this TEAM for getting it done.
