Macon County going to the Semi-finals and getting put out by the 3a state champions......... and still not getting scored on as much as the runners up.

WELL I WILL SEE ALL OF YOU WHO ARE ATTENDING THE GAME IN LAFAYETTE TONIGHT, I AM GOING BACK TO GET BREAKFAST NOW, I NEED TO GET AT LEAST AN HOUR OR TWO OF SLEEP BEFORE I COME UP THERE, GOOD LUCK TO THE BEST TEAM, IT IS GOING TO BE THE GAME TO WATCH.

Forget school on a day like this....those boys minds are so far from the classroom, it would be a waste of time for a teacher to try any teaching today to anyone!!!

that was what i was trying to get at, how can i forget in only a year what gameday is like, i still get the tingle.

well the boys on both sides of the ball are going through there daily drag of setting through class at either high school, jumpy and figity as can be, just waiting for the bell to ring to go to the fieldhouse and begin preparing for the game, the school is probly keying up with a peprally in a few hours, then the qb club will feed the boys the nice food they feed them, then off to dress and head to the field, i am going to be there early, i am leaving the boro' by noon to make it to lafayette on this big day.

I guess everyone will just have to show up to the game and see if Mr. Hudson plays or not. That will be a surprise revealed Friday nite..

That is why I am going to love the surprised looks of all the Smith Co. fans, when they are sitting there looking like a deer caught in the headlights at the end of the game staring at the SCOREBOARD in disbelief that once again, they lost to the MACON CO. TIGERS

No extra bleachers are going to be set up so you better get there early. It would be nice if they roped off Meador Dr. and let people stand in that area. The field looks good and is in as good conditon as can be excepted.

Sorry Folks I was wrong (Man, I hate that) The bleachers are going to be put up tomorrow. I had talked to Coach Fitz Wednesday and he said that they were not going to put up the bleachers, but talked to him again a few minutes ago and he said it was a go. So there you go!

Just because we beat a #1 seed two years in a row doesn't mean that they were the better team. Last year, I agree, we did "upset" Howard in Chattanooga-Choo-Choo-Town. This year, I believe we were the better team overall than Walker Valley, so it wasn't an upset that got us past the 1st round. We've been past the first round ten years in a row, and last years win was probably the only "upset" we had to pull. Seeding only represents how you finish in your region. That doesn't necessarily mean in what order your teams strength is. And it's difficult to compare a #1 seed with a 5-5 record to a #4 seed with a 7-3 record. I would give Livingston the edge if they played WV, and they were technically a #5 seed from our region. Seeds don't mean anything when you're this far in!

 

i wasn't trying to downplay the stregnth of portland, all i was saying was upsets happen, i have a lot of respect for the portland football program, not much respect for some of the players, but those are the ones who were stirring up a big controversy earlier in the year. all i was saying, is good technique and a lot of heart are all that really matters in this game, and the team who wants it more, and gives everything they have, usually pulls off the win. by the way, good luck to mc and sc, and all the region 4 players next year, have a good season and play hard.

I know this is going to be the hottest game in the state this weekend, whatever happens, it's going to be a close and exciting game, i wish i could make it, but i have home ties to watch, so good luck to both teams

the best team will win, but macon has the entire jungle pulling for them, it is the 12 player on the field, and the squawking night chickens are not ready for it, last time was nothing, and remember, upsets do happen, look at what caused p-town to advance past 1st round anyway, they beat a #1 seed, so don't county out the tigers or even the owls yet.... all i can say is it is going to be the best game of the year in region 4, don't catch yourself missing out on this one, i sure won't.

if hudson and dallas are both healthy for friday night's big game, than smith county had better watch out, because the tigers will run all over them, they havn't seen a running back for macon in the past years as fast as dallas, and he has gained a lot of expeirence and confidence in the last few weeks, he was on fire last week.

i'll see what i can find out.

hey man, i will find out if we put on a summer camp next time i go over to the weightroom, the team is leaving for arkansas, and me being a redshirt, i get some time off from football for the first time this year, but i should have it posted soon, i will see what i can get, but i am pretty sure we put on some kind of camp, i remember seeing something about it. what kind of camp are you looking for?

well, well, well, with all the talking going on here, i cannot wait to get to the game friday night, it is going to be a royal barn burner, but anyways..... with some of the fans from carthage, peee land and hartsville talking the way they are, i am feeling a little bad that i will probly have to enter the game through the visitor's side gate, considering that is where my ticket is usually left by my family so i can get it.... but i will be walking throught there as usual, wearing my blue and white, i may even were my mtsu shirt i don't know yet.... but please don't mugg me on my way over to the home side, because i know that it wouldn't be a fair fight..... lol' i can't wait to see this game... bring your fans on to town, we will be loud and rowdy as usual

If you go back and look at my other posts I have not said that this years team was bad. They are pretty good actually, however the past teams have NOT been that good!

the team from last year was good, we just had problems on offense and when our offense shut down, our defense couldn't handle the load of the whole game..... so don't be playing down last years macon county team, oh yeah, and the little fact of every year i was in it, we were almost always playing against the referees.

ahhhhh, it dosn't matter if you support the tigers, the tigers have plenty of loyal fan support in the jungle. you step in wearing purple and you may have the flag crew after ya', lol' i hope to see them lining the streets this friday night, like in the times last year. support the owls if you want' i just missread your post... oh well i was very tired from practice yesterday evening and dullusional if i thought a portland fan was going to support the hated tigers, who are region champs, and who isn't, oh yeah, portland.

macon county has been calling the stadium the jungle for years, and it has finally turned back into what it once was, a slaughterhouse.

Well all i can say, is to smith county, we can talk all the trash we want to online. but as always, the only thing that really matters, is that we support our high school players out there on the field, no matter who wins, region 4 is going down the road to knoxville, and i will be behind macon or smith county. hopefully, see either the tigers or the owls attend the state championship game down here in my team's stadium, good luck to both teams.

hey queen, you must not have been there in the past few weeks, i have tried to get a seat over on home side, and i resort to my usual of walking the fence and watching the action. i mean last year, i watched the offense on the field while i was taking a breather. but oh well, he gets there anytime before 30 mins. before kick off and he won't be getting a seat.

well if the fans get a little rowdy, i am sure we can make news for more than just the win...... i hope they have enough cops in the crowd to break it up

I know miss KITTY, I was just funnin' like everybody else on here. But, I have heard stories in the past between MC, SC, TC, and P-town. And you thought "Monday Night Raw" was rough! I would love to come over to P.P. field Friday to see the game, but I don't think I'll be able to make it. However, if I do, I'll be sure to look for that "poofy" blonde hair. I'd like to meet you, 71fan, bigB, jae, and all the MC proud that I have met on here.
