What teams in East Tennessee will play next Thursday (Oct. 24) and which ones will play next Friday (Oct, 25)? I know the Midway at Oakdale game will be on Thursday.

Knox Carter @ Seymour will be Thursday from Householder Field on the campus of Seymour High School.

I have heard rumblings that TSSAA may be looking at "Magnet" schools for potentially recruiting athletes under the guise of "educational advantages". Anyone else heard anything along these lines? This was just a topic of conversation before a recent game, don't really know if there is anything to it. How many AE players are zoned for AE? Not questioning/implying anything, just asking...

If your not asking, question/implying anything why add the AE comment? That comment is not necessary. The regions are about sorted out to who will be first till last. Playoffs are about here, and you can pretty much see who you are going to have to play in the first round. State picks are pretty much up for whoever play good in the playoffs.

In AAA the same team that was rocked by Austin-East, 25-8?

In AAAA the same Hixson team that lost to Tyner, 6-0?

I'd probably say Trousdale and Maryville are the safer of the two picks, but I see some loyalty to the Chattanooga area teams there. Good Luck to all of you guys.

I was just curious what kind of security matters are takenn here to protect the young men and women who participate in High School athletics, then their pictures are taken. I don't think posting names by the pictures is a good idea. I would also like to encourage some security measures to be taken.

Why can't the Knoxville TV media devote a few minutes a week to high schools?

Right now fox has shown me two scores and a big piece on UT football's 3-day weekend off (have they been "on" this year at any time?), and a story on the UT swim team. It's Friday night. Show high school scores!!!!!!!!!!

They usually start showing scores at 11:15 on all stations.

Here's how I'd divide it up:

 

I think of the Knoxville Region as including: Blount, Knox, Loudon, Roane, Campbell, Claiborne, Anderson, Morgan, Scott, Jefferson, Cocke, Grainger, Union.

 

Leaving Hawkins, Hancock, Sullivan, Washington, Hamblen, Greene, Johnson, Carter and Uniocoi Counties in the Northeast region.

 

How about Sevier County??

Yeah Sevier County in the Knoxville Region, I had that originally before I edited that message (Which I don't see now). lol

Dude...I'm not from Cloudland nor am I a fan, but I wouldn't throw their regular season record at them...

 

especially when PV is only 47-43 in the same time frame.

I'm not from Powell Valley, I'm not even sure where it is.

I'd say being 71-18 is something to be proud of wouldn't you?

It's my opinion that Powell Valley is a different kind of opponent than Cloudland has seen so far this season.

Cloudland thinks Powell Valley will be a push-over for them. No disrespect to Cloudland but.....

I really don't find merit in those awards, because those voters don't see all the kids play.

Central's Defense is tough, if the Bobcats can shutdown Lively of Halls then this game will be a cakewalk, but Halls always finds a way to play tough against Central. I think Halls will be one of the first teams to start roughing up the Freshmen Quarterback at Central. Central's QB can't throw deep very well so Halls will rough him up, roll up the backs stop Jackson and upset Central.

If you look in D-II, you'll see Fayette Academy got 8 votes. That's nice and all... except for the fact that they're D-I.

 

I hope that's just a typo, because I'd hate to be the sports writer who made that mistake.
