  1. Richland had a good strategy that just about worked in stalling the ball. Great game by both teams!

My opinion on Loretto game vs Richland

Richland was "this close" from winning the game...The difference early on was Richland missing free throws. At one point before half time Richland would have been up by 4-6 points, but instead went into half time score of 13-11. First half saw several ref calls go Richland's way, by the one official. By the end of the Third quarter saw Loretto's lead open to 7 I think it was. Loretto started getting calls by another certain official in the third..By the fourth quarter Richland K. Lovell and A. Edwards was in foul trouble, and Loretto kept the lead around 6 points til late when fouling, intentional fouls were called resulting in a 12 point differential final. Loretto's #20 Law was good last night not sure how many points total but I felt was kept in check most of the night. She has nice 10-12ft jumper and hit free throws. During second half Richland allowed #22 (or #32) go coast to coast and do two semi barely contested left handed lay-ups at crucial times.

Good Luck to 11A the rest of the way.. Now we get to focus on softball!!!!

  2. you have a point, but i'm anxious to see if working that injured player back in the lineup is going to cause any hard feelings among other team members who will be losing playing time now that she is back? my guess is brodie will be getting less minutes or maybe santiago...but johns has also increasingly gotten more minutes so who knows? should be one of the best 12a finals in a long time.

I can assure you there are no "hard feelings". This group of girls is the closest we have had in a long time! I look forward to the game and think it will be very interesting! Good luck to both teams and I'm picking my Lady Mustangs in the end by 12.

  3. Not Ricky Taylor. If it was, it would for sure seal our principal's fate at the end of the year.

big D, to answer your questions in order:

    1. That question goes back to administration. Our principal would rather have someone on staff who is a "full time teacher" instead of a coach.

    2. No newspapers or media is reporting this because he won't leave the school until after this year is up and here at Loretto we don't get any media coverage.

    3. They aren't officially hiring yet.

    4. If we hire Taylor, I and everyone else would die. I really don't think that's going to happen.

  4. 1. No, no broadcasting curriculum yet. This is simply a couple of alumni that wants to give the kids some exposure and for relatives in other states and Tennessee.

    2. The lighting difference is caused by our white balance being set to automatic. We will learn from this and adjust properly.

    3. The biggest cost is the internet line.

    4. We put this on facebook to help spread the word around the USA.

    5. No one is calling the game because volleyball is so fast pace, we couldn't keep up if we tried.

    6. There is better equipment out there, we are just starting out and are not pros by any means.

    7. I will get with the AD and see about brightening up the lines.

    8. Thank you for the compliment. We really appreciate it! We have a broadcasting calendar on the site of upcoming broadcasts and are thankful for any feedback we can get.

This is much better than I thought it would be. Some questions:

Does Loretto have a broadcasting cirriculum that students can learn how to get into this field. Some schools do.

Does anyone have an ROI as to what it would take to get set up for a presentation or a group of presentations?

I noticed the lighting was a little off at firs and was adjusted> Would that cost be in the ROI.

this is on Facebook. Is that the current tecchnology or is there something that is of better quality in the presentation?

Is there a reason that there was no one calling the game on audio?

Can you think of things you would or couold give a better presentation with any other equipment?

Had you thought of making lines heavier so they can be seen better?

Without sounding critical, this was very good. Was this the radio station that was putting this on?

Where might someone call to get other information about this?

  6. Thought this would make an interesting discussion. Story is below. Would you let this young girl play middle school football with the guys? Why or why not?

Girl, 13, Fights To Play Football In Henry County

Director Of Education Says Girls Aren’t Allowed To Play Football

PARIS, Tenn. -- School-sanctioned football can only be played by boys in Henry County, but a middle-school girl and her mother want to change that. Thirteen-year-old Sara Torres' dream is to be the first female quarterback to play for the Tennessee Vols.“I think I'm a big girl. I can handle it if the guys can. I think we should have a chance (to do) what we love,†Sara said.“She loves the Tennessee Vols and Peyton Manning," said her mom.Sara said Henry County's Director of Education decided girls aren’t allowed to play football, even in middle school, because there's too much of a chance they'll get hurt.“I'm going to get hurt in softball and basketball and soccer,†said Sara. “They're just afraid that a girl can beat guys."Sara's mom wouldn't let her daughter try out for the team last year, but the teen kept insisting her mom let her go for it.“It's my child's dream to play football, so therefore, I'll help her do whatever it takes,†said Sara's mom.So far, the family has called the ACLU, the U.S. Department of Education, Equal Rights and Channel 4 News.Sara said the coach at Henry County Elementary told her he wanted her on the team, but for now, she’s still stuck in the stands.“Girls can go into the Army. Can they not just play football?†said Sara. The Assistant Director of Henry County Schools has not responded to Channel 4’s requests for comment.Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association officials said its rules allow for women to play football for schools. In fact, several girls are on Tennessee high school football teams this upcoming season. TSSAA officials said in the past some have even scored touchdowns and made all-state teams.David Williams, a law professor at Vanderbilt University and expert in this field, said because football is considered a contact sport, by law, schools do not have to allow women to participate.
