QUOTE(donathan5507 @ Feb 20 2007 - 10:25 PM) 826382047Don't be so quick to underestimate Franklin. They lost on a last-second shot the last time they played McGavock and they are getting contributions for kids that haven't played much all season.
I think that Centennial has a chance against Antioch if Kelly and Harris come to play big-time. They can do okay on the twin towers and McLemore can spot-up shoot very well...I doubt it will happen, but I believe that CHS will be rocking for that game...when is it played anyway?
I would pick the winners as follows:
FIRST ROUND
Whites Creek
Franklin
Antioch
McGavock
SECOND ROUND
Antioch
Franklin
FINALS
Antioch
First round action begins Saturday at 7 pm at the top two seeds home courts. WC, Franklin, McGavock, and Centennial all host games.
-
They did. If you total up the box score, you'll see that Whites Creek won. Jamie Graham had 26 points.
The tennessean also had the wrong score a week ago when Antioch played Ensworth. They later corrected it, which i'm sure they'll do again.

Whites Creek vs. Overton - WC
Centennial vs. Antioch - Antioch
Franklin vs. HL - Franklin
McGavock vs. Brentwood - McGavock
Semifinals
Creek vs. Antioch - WC
Franklin vs. McGavock - McGavock

Meigs has a very good player in Gooch. Big girl who can move. Head will have to stop her.
Hill vs. Meigs i would have to say. Hill I think will win it all.
-
Centennial will not beat Antioch.
Franklin is capable of beating Antioch, Whites Creek, or McGavock. Franklin would be sharper if they faced those teams on a regular basis. Winning on consecutive nights against those teams will be tough.

QUOTE(AlonBabayan @ Feb 20 2007 - 07:51 AM) 826380666I tell you what........I'd rather win tonight and face Hunters Lane than lose tonight and face Antioch!!! I think the main thing is that this district has to make some noise in region play and sub-state play in order to be considered one of the top districts in the state. In a way, it makes Franklin's streak of 38 wins in district NOTHING considering the competition in the district. Good Luck to both teams tonight.
Franklin would never have that streak in 12-aaa.
12-aaa will sweep 3 of the first games in the region. Franklin will be one and done.
Franklin's team last year was waaaaay better than this yr's team.
-
I know Meigs (1) and Haynes (2) advance from the north side.
Does anyone know who advanced from the south side.
I think HG Hills had a good team.
-
The loser of this game will play Antioch in the first round of the Regions.
Winner gets Hunters Lane.

QUOTE(workinprogress @ Feb 17 2007 - 02:02 PM) 826376346JFK beat Hill by about 15 and beat MLK in the western finals by about 7. MLK was okay but not nearly as good as everyone said they would be. MLK has a center thats pretty good but no other key players that stood out. MLK looked to prefer a slow paced game and they definately achieved that but it back fired as JFK was ready for the test. Good games to come next Tuesday and Wednesday at Cameron. By the way, Cameron should have never gotten this host site. Horrible for parking. Officers were towing cars all night long.
Thats BS, they shouldn't be towing. Metro when will they learn. why else is anybody even over there.........All that crime over there and they are worried about where cars are being parked...................alright back to the subject.
Final Four, Haynes (1) Brick Church (2), JFK(1), MLK (2)
Should be Haynes vs. JFK I'm goin w/ Haynes...............that guard they have is TOUGH!
-
the only break the # 1 seed from 11aaa will get is the first game. 12-aaa # 3 seed will be antioch......................................................No. 2(11-aaa) will have to play Antioch........some reward.......
-
I'm predicting a BTW upset of Liberty in M'boro.................
-
I agree. Metro has some talented teams, but you have to wonder when can they beat the county schools or private schools?? (coaching???)
Also Antioch after mercilessly blowing Stratford out 91-9, here's a little karma!
-
MLK returns the big post from last yr. They have a couple of good guards. Of course they are very disciplined. They don't take many bad shots.
Haynes has the luxury of coming out of the east. I don't know who else is strong on the east. Gra-Mar and Goodlettsville are down. MLK, JFK, and Moore will all have to battle before facing Haynes.
Haynes is fairly balanced. Two bigs(one huge) and a couple of guards. I can't say that they shot the ball well from the outside though. They had one guard who is head and shoulders above the rest of middle school. Braids and bow-legged. I think he went to jere baxter last yr.
JFK has 5 players who can take it to the basket and finish. Very athletic.
-
If that is the case, HL will probably be the number 4 team.
Maplewood with an outside shot.
-
Well, Icy you know who I'm rooting for. But if they play like they did against antioch the second time, they won't win it. I hope Antioch and McGavock have to play each other and the Creek gets the winner in the Championship.
I don't prefer either one because both are capable of beating Whites Creek. But obviously one of them will get there.
Antioch guard Kyle Upton is really growing on me. If he can be more patient on the defensive end(stop reaching and gambling) he could be a good D1 pt. guard.
-
I agree. I've seen JFK, MLK, and Haynes. I haven't seen JT Moore. Probably will be MLK vs. Haynes.

they may be back but tahj isnt and thats their biggest post presence. they did win over whites creek but they also lost to two sub par teams recently in hunters lane (10-10) and mcgavock (19-6) Not sure who will win but i know it'll be close
Two sub par teams(McGavock)??? You must not know about 12-aaa teams.
Hunters Lane has beaten Laverne who recently beat no. 1 ranked oakland. Hunters Lane is much better than their record. THey've played a tough schedule.
Ok I was wrong Antioch won by more than 10.

Creek laid an egg. Played horrible.
Give Antioch credit they came ready to play. Congrats.

boy was i wrong...............

If Liberty only has a 6 deep rotation, they will not blow out BA. They do a good job of keeping their players fresh. They play 10 players and substitute liberally. Brian Wright is a lot better than people think. He isn't on his brother's level, but he is no slouch.
Should be a good game, i don't see it being a blowout. Stallings is the x-factor, if he shoots well BA usually wins. He can shoot from half court.
