  1. My score SP 50 CB 0 if the starting lineup is out by eary 3rd quarter. 75 to 0 if they play longer.

Maybe, May Not Be...We have fewer and way fewer student athlets than anyone else in the entire region but recently we have seen more heart and determination in our Cougar athletes than most any one else in our region and even in our State. We may not be the No.1 team to beat this year in 2006, but mark my words all you preppy , snobby think you are up town when you really are nothing more than a has been or a want to be...Copper Basin Cougars have heart, determination and PRIDE no matter if it is a win or lose we know we are Back with a Vengence!!! This is Cougar Mom and everyone knows that Moms are always right.....................

  2. Keep telling the Pirates how great they are. :P That way Jasper can sneak up from behind and hit them with a sock full of . . . !!!!

Here is a reply from a basin fan. We have had many good teams in the last 15 years. In 2005 Basin should have won at south pit. but had a TD called back and very poor coaching calls.

The problem has been the past coach at basin who is now gone. He played favorites and there where probly 20 kids walking halls that would tell him that there was no way they would play for him, most of these kids would have been a great help. They have had some players that was very good and went on to play colege ball.

The new coach "Dailey" started with a program that had no money "where did it go"? The booster club raised 21,000 from June till August to buy new equipment. Many new kids came out, some stayed some quit, because, basin football is now hard work and never quit attitude. Quiters and people who lay down are replaced and will not be put up with.

They have had 4 B team games all ready, that was more than they had in the last 5 years,

The Off. & Def. has been completely changed. For years you could sit in the stands and call the first 20 plays every game because they never changed. Full back up the middle and sweep around the right end and tailback off tackle.

The players get weekly scouting reports and the other teams players photos as posted on the wall each week.

This is the best prepaired Basin team in the last 15 years. They should have beat Whitwell, they lost 14 to 16 and lost 4 fumbles and one of them was was at their on 3 yard line fixing to score and a interception around the 10 fixing to score.

The Score this week ?? S.Pit is very fast and well coached as always. Basin could surprize them with the differnce in this team. Sorry for the long post

  3. Congratulations Cougardad on the appointment of a new head man. I know you have been eagerly awaiting this announcement. Hopefully you guys can get it together and start being able to compete against Polk County again.

We are glad to finally be able to move on. Pat Dailey is a good coach and should be able to do alot with the program. The kids and the fans never wanted to quit playing Polk Co. This is a rivalary should have never stopped. It is a very good money game to both schools and is just tradition. Hopefully coach Dailey will be able to get it started again. We look for great things to happen with this team.

  4. It seems like it is a fine mess up in Copper Hill. They once had a really good program that produced some great teams.

This is true... Coach stone is gone, hopfully with all of the seniors coming back the program can get back on the right track and be a great program once again and produce more good athletes and teams... the only great athletes to come out the past few years have been Orton, Shinpaugh, Kaylor, the only ones to play college ball anyway lately, but hopfully the program will get back on track. The best thing for the team would be for the adults to stop causing trouble and let the new coach try to do his best

  5. Its good to see this thread being used to actually discuss the game rather than talk trash, for the most part. I think, and this is my opinion, that the statement "Polk has no speed" has become a cliche. That is the statement made about Polk in most cases, and sometimes from people that have never seen the Wildcats play. In general, in football, if you are running someone down from behind, something has gone wrong already. Isn't it more about being in the right place at the right time? The games are not determined by comparing each teams average 40 time. I am just a fan, I don't watch film, I don't study games, so I see each play one time, and I have seen #32 out run two DB's for an 81 yard TD, I have seen #12 match Carthorne step for step when he was trying to get outside on a return. Polk has played in the same region as Chattanooga Tyner for the past several years, they have seen speed. This game, like most, will come down to blocking and tackling, control the line of scrimmage, and maybe, "speed" won't be a factor.

With all do respect cargotrailer. Speed does kill and Polk doesnt have a lot of it. Yes do have some good athletes. Hamby is not all that fast ive played against him and he is a friend of mine but he is still a very good back. I if Polk contains Ladd then they will pound White House to death and win by 2 touchdowns.

  6. With the exception of maybe south pittsburg Coalfield was the best competition Basin played all year, they were very strong and well coached, it was a good game for a half until Basin ran out of gas, the only advantage South Pitt would have over Coalfield is athletes and speed

  7. Basin gave temple one heck of a game and probably should of won, they were able to run the ball all night but hats off to temple for shocking basin and running the ball well. Temple should beat Grace by 3 touchdowns ive seen em both play and Basin played a terrible game and still shut out Grace
