  1. Hampton Tuesday night is a must win. I can not beolieve that Superfalconfan05 has not been on here to comment on Friday night's game.
  2. DP96, I heard the same thing. It is a shame. I thought he would be the last player to quit. It does nothing to help our depth, which is in short supply anyway.
  3. But remember what happened the next night against Central, 05.
  4. Central may win, but it will not be by 40 points. It will be closer than you guys think. In fact, it may be so close that Volunteer wins. I think it will be a good game.
  5. I do not understand why either of the other two got locked. It does appear that when someone indicates that the thread might get locked up it does. I will agree that some folks got off on some stuff that they should not have, but we were doing a good job of getting things back on track. All the moderators is penalize the people who are acting as they should. Appears that a litte power goes to some people's heads. Enough of that. The Falcons need to get ready for Sullivan Central. They need to play hard and put the jealousies aside. If they work together, they can win the game.
  6. Mountiandew10, I do not know who you are, but I do not like your attitude. What I said is correct. Prove me wrong. Under age consumption and DUI are totally different. Besides, are you sure your child has not been guilty. Also, if you are supposed to be a friend of the Volunteer team, you have an odd way of showing it.
  7. Jacob has never been stopped for or charged with DUI. Stop the rumors. When you know something for a fact, then pass it along to us. Until then keep your mouth shut.
  8. Why don't the folks a Central take care of their own problems?
  9. I don't think they would let him darken the door up there. Funny how all the talk stopped after daddy's five college caliber players moved on. I could have won with them. GO FALCONS!! Take care of business against Elizabethton.
  10. Volfalcon, where has your old buddy from Betsy been the last couple of years?
  11. I agree with Stokomo, but I wish to add a few ideas. To me appeared that the defense was not up to its usual fine level of play. Further, although we played well in spurts, we made enough mistakes to fill a bushel basket. If we did not have another game for a month we would still have plenty to work on in practice. The mistakes were not from lack of effort. Sometimes things just don't happen the way you want them to in spite of your best efforts. In any event, we won and that is what is important. Now we need to concentrate on Elizabethton.
  12. Falcons play at Johnson County tonight. I hope they can find the chemistry to score more than 44 points.
  13. Falcons play at Unicoi County tonight. They had better be ready to play. They need a win to stay in the conference race. It appears that the Blue Devils have a good team this year.
  14. GO Falcons! Beat the Golden Raiders tonight.
  15. Rhea County beat Volunteer. Volunteer will play Unaka and Rhea County will play Morristown East.
  16. Volunteer 11 14 8 11 - 44 Rhea County 10 15 7 21 - 53 Potter 16 Browder 13 Cradic 10 Moore 3 Mauk 2 The paper gives Potter 18 and Moore 1. They gave a FG to Potter that I gave to Moore. At first, I was a point short. I had only given Browder a 2 on a 3 he made in the fourth quarter. The young guys battled tough most of the way. It is hard to win when your three best players are on the bench. Mann did not play because of injury. The team deserves better support. Besides this tournament goes a long way toward supporting the non-revenue producing sports.
  17. Volunteer 8 18 10 5 - 41 Rye Cove 5 7 7 9 - 28 Cradic 13 Browder 7 Mann 7 Tipton 5 Potter 5 Mauk 3 Zook 1
  18. Volunteer 61 Cherokee 57 I wonder what their excuse will be this time. Scoring: Frazier 26 Hughes 18 Mann 8 Browder 5 Potter 3 Tipton 1
  19. CheifsofCherokee, when did stating facts become running one's mouth? You are the only one on here running his mouth. I, also, knew what your excuse for losing was. Jay has not been convicted of anything. Accused is not the same as guilty. But it appears that folks in Rogersville have short memories. Who was the convict on the Cherokee football team who chose not to play basketball last year? And how about the population explosion we had in Hawkins County last year? Is the father going to be able to support all of those children? Isn't he still on the basketball team? I will tell you that we are not going to use any excuses, although we could, if we lose to Cherokee. The team will have played four games in six days and endured a 13 hour bus ride home from Florida on Sunday. Now guys go out and kick Cherokee's assets!!!!!
  20. I think Rhea County will be playing Clinch at 5:30 the first day and Volunteer will play Rye Cove at 8:30. The winners play the next day. I do not have any information on the top of the bracket.
  21. DeXterrr, the Colorado team shot several threes, as did the other two teams we played. Sometimes you live by the 3 and sometimes you die by the 3.
  22. Jacob torched Cherokee for 22 the last time. So what does that make them? A middle school?
  23. Sullivan South is the other boy's team.
  24. There were a couple of posts while I was writing my last one that I need to respond to. In Alex's defense, I did not hear any individual awards announced. On the other hand, if there was a MVP award, Jacob would have been the person to receive it based upon any basis for such an award that I have ever seen. Jay would have had to have been included on any all-tournament team. Also, let me say that there were four girls teams from our area that did well in the Disney tournaments. They were Tennessee High, Unaka and Unicoi County
  25. Ok, guys we just got home. I will give you the stats as I have them. They may vary some from some others you may have seen or heard. We had problems with the score keeping down there. We actually scored two mor points than the official score would indicate. Our book and my book showed the same thing. The problem is there scorekeeper missed two of our point. I won't go into that any further. If you want to discuss it see me personally. Thursday, December 16 Volunteer 18 18 25 19 - 80 University 17 15 15 11 - 58 Scorboard said we had 82. Our book and my book only had 80. Game not as close as final score would indicate. Frazier 33 Hughes 16 Mann 15 Browder 4 Tipton 4 Potter 4 Paul 2 Cradic 2 Friday, December 17 Volunteer 17 8 12 17 - 54 Trinity 10 10 13 14 - 47 Trinity was undefeated prior to our game. They came in third in the tournament. There was a write up in the Pittsburgh paper Sunday morning. Jared got hurt in this game. Frazier 21 Potter 11 Hughes 9 Browder 8 Mann 5 Saturday, December 18 Volunteer 18 13 18 13 - 62 Pueblo Central 8 16 27 5 - 58 This reflects the score as I see it. The official record is 60-58. They missed the two points in the third quarter. It was, apparently, one of Jacob's buckets. She missed it because it happened too fast and she was too busy making some comments to coach Whitt. We had a problem with them at the start of the game on a bucket that was wiped off because of a charge. The tournament director took care of that problem. Frazier 32 (30) Hughes 16 Cradic 5 Potter 4 Browder 3 Tipron 2 Two of the teams we beat were undefeated before we beat them. We did not play the teams we were originally scheduled to play. We found out on the way to Orlando that we had been moved into the tournament we played in. The change was because the TSSAA did not approve us playing one of the teams in our tournament, although we may never have had to play them, and TSSAA would not approve the team University High was scheduled to play first. The officials let the guys play. That led to a physical style of play. I think that may have helped us to some extent. The officiating was different to say the least. The awards to be given the the winners had been made and had all of the teams in the tournament listed on the plaque. With us changing tournaments, our name is not on our plaque. But we are not giving it back. Great job guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know you would think that a good A.D. would have had a welcoming party for the team when they got back home.
