ECS did win a coin flip with Harding for the 3rd seed. They tied in record and split
in head to head. Having the 3rd seed did provide an easier road to the semi-finals.
There are some problems with your post though. ECS beat St. Benedict twice during the regular season, and quite handily I might add. And if you want to discuss overall record, Harding's may be a little bit better, but look at the schedule that ECS played in comparison. Overall, ECS and Harding are two evenly matched teams, and ECS just happened to win the coin flip. Missing SBEC in the quarterfinals was the benefit of that flip. By the way, Coach Myatt has done a tremendous job with what is essentially young team. Their future looks good.
