1. RCR has a valid point with his original post, but I wish he showed a little more compassion.

... but crazzyness's post was downright classless.

Bottomline is the game will be played tomorrow after one team goes to a funeral. Please show each other some love (on here, on the field, in your home, at school/work, etc.) Life is short. We need to be thankful for the precious time God gives us together. Heck, I'm 47 years old. Trust me young people when I say time flies.

    Good night and God bless.

Agreed...the post by Crazzyness was not necessary. If you look at his other posts, you can tell he is not from Lookout Valley or this area. Everyone here in the Valley sends our prayers to the Grace family.

  2. I don't think the poster meant anything by this thread. Everyone sympathizes with the tragedy going on at Grace. I have talked to a few people who were there tonight and it appears that the folks at Lookout Valley were expecting to play a game and when game time came, Grace wasn??™t there. The umpires were there, the news media was there, and Grace had some fans there.

It appears that there was a lack of communication.

  3. QUOTE(inappropriate87 @ Apr 3 2007 - 10:54 AM) 826428947if grace dont win it, they need to quit playin. one of the easiest districts in tn

Not one of the easiest, but THE easiest. Temple finished 2nd last year...PLEASE!!!!

  4. QUOTE(Skipper @ Apr 1 2007 - 04:18 PM) 826427705Tullahoma Girl's Varsity Coach Katie Galloway has resigned following a suggestion to do so by THS Principal Mike Landis. I heard that there was a lot of complaints from the players and parents that the girls weren't being worked hard enough due to Coach Galloway spending a lot of time with her boyfriend in Chattanooga. The coach of the Freshman team, Lindsey Worbington, was working her team much harder, and the results showed with an outstanding season that included a victory over Shelbyville! Ed Tucker, former head coach of the East Middle School girl's team, had also done an exceptional job in developing the Freshman players. 4 out of the 5 starters (Danae Thornburg, Olivia Barlow, Jenna Larson and Kristina Tucker) started for his team at East. He also developed upcoming Freshman Katie Brock, who is a great post player. He will be coaching most of the varsity team this Spring with a traveling team, which will prepare them well for next season. Tullahoma will only have 1 senior next year, but a tremendous amount of talent in the Juniors and Sophmores. The new coach has a nice problem in that he will be forced to cut players next year because there are so many girls that want to play. Next year may still be a tough year since it will be such a young team, but Tullahoma should be very competitive over the following 2 years. With solid coaching, they could even topple Shelbyville. The new coach was named on Friday and has already met with the players. I heard that his name is Mike (?) with past ties to Shelbyville. Does anyone know what is full name is and his background?

bhahaha!!! This has to be the funniest post I've ever read!!! So you're saying she was basically fired because she was spending all of her free time in Chattanooga with her boy friend? Yeah....sure!!! The problem....for the umpteenth time...was that they were playing with inferior players. Let's face it, Tullahoma has one of the toughest districts in the nation. The freshmen won because they had better talent. The varsity lost because they didn't...PERIOD!!!

I'm not impressed with the new hire. I've heard he was basically run out of Soddy Daisy and Rhea County. I don't think this is a good fit for the program. Guess we'll see. Good luck to him.

  5. District 8-AAA historically is the best girls basketball conference in the country

it all boils down too experience coach galloway is what 25-26 years old and only 3 years coaching(2 with us and 1 at gps)

she never played any 8-AAA thats why the columbia and lawrence co coaches have been so successful because they have seen and know how to fight the 2 front battles in the district(what i mean by 2 front battles is trying to win and also keeping the kids at your school)

there's more male coaches around then female coaches also there's alot of former district 8 coaches coaching in other areas that could come in and do something with these girls

you must remember if a parent thinks that you are endangering there kids chances at a scholarship they bolt and go 12 miles up 41A because they know they'll get there scholarship there

thats why i have complaining about this for so long because i'm afraid that coach galloway is going to run 1 of these girls off

No...what it boils down to is lack of talent. Let's face it, right now they are playing with lesser talent. Galloway came in to a situation where the team, the support, the talent, etc was terrible. The whole girl's program has been awful for years. Am I the only one who sees this? Come on!!! True...there's a lot of young talent. This is great news. I think with Galloway's guidance she can help develope these young girls into contenders. She is trying to do good things with the girls she has now, but it just isn't happening. The program has been neglected for way too long!!!!!!!!

What does playing at the 8-AAA level have to do anything? Seriously. I some times wonder if you are in tune with reality!!! Have the Columbia and Lawrence Co coaches played in the NCAA tournament? Have they competed against the best women's programs in the nation?

Who else in the district could come in and do a better job? Not with the talent we have right now. I won't even touch the male/female comment!!!

And a parent will take their kid to another school? Really? How many kids do you have? Have you taken a poll? Or is this common knowledge? I'm telling you...it's not going to happen!!!

  6. what is the answer?

Depends on what you're wanting. If you want a quick turn around, it isn't going to happen...at any level, in any program. They are basically building a program from scratch. No one in the past few years has seemed to put any amount of time into making it a competitive program. From what I can tell, Coach Galloway and her staff have put a lot of time and effort into the program.

    It takes time.....

  7. They are probabaly the smallest 1A school in Chattanooga. What is their high school enrollment 200? They gruaduated like 40 seniors last year, its hard to get more than just a few good players. I am impressed they even have a football team. I mean who would really want to move to Lookout Valley to sent their child to Lookout Valley High School to play football? Last year they were loaded with seniors, and only one had a college even look at him for football.

Actually, they only had three seniors last year. One is playing college football and one other probably could have. Yeah, I guess you're right....parents could send their kid to Tyner. But that would be cruel...
