  1. The Rebels had a 3-1 lead over UC in varsity play. I can't speak for UC, but I know the Rebs had some subs in when UC came back and scored 4. The Rebels managed to tack one more score on but UC won 5-4. Rebels play Crockett County, I believe, on Thursday.
  2. With the way the TSSAA has this playoff system set up, it's sad they don't reward you for playing tough non-district competition like Milan, Camden, Westview, Trenton, etc. I can understand the reasoning for not getting Camden back on our schedule.
  3. August 26 - Westview September 02 - @Dresden* September 09 - Trenton September 16 - Gleason* September 23 - @Humboldt September 30 - Bruceton* October 07 - @TCA October 14 - @Huntingdon* October 21 - @Adamsville October 28 - West Carroll* * - District game
  4. Unless somebody beats me to it, I'll be releasing McKenzie's 2011 schedule sometime this week once I'm sure everything is correct.
  5. Not much new information, to be honest. He's still out there practicing, working hard. I think he's been playing kick off in the games.
  6. Yes, stadium itself can hold around 2500 fans, but has probably held as many as 4-5k people, especially during some of the Huntingdon games in past. I've been made aware that the Riverside advance tickets deal is this: Riverside fans are able to go to their booster club members and purchase advanced tickets so they don't have to wait in line. Tickets ARE being sold at the gate.
  7. Hey Butch, you able to get everything squared away for Friday night?
  8. Only Advanced tickets to get into the ball game? Well, I'd have to say that rumor is false.
  9. In my personal opinion, from having watched Riverside personally and having heard the opinions of others more 'knowledgeable' than me, I have to concur that Riverside is pretty darn good. Probably as good as they were last year, and will be hard to beat. McKenzie is about as good as they were last year, too, Just better in different areas and not as good in others, in which it all balances out. I may be a McKenzie fan, but I try to be realistic, if not sometimes pessimistic (I know, not good), and I have to say I like our chances. I'm going with McKenzie, 21-7 (last year was 22-7)
  10. This the same massey ratings that said we'd blow out Mt. Pleasant? LOL
  11. I see. Well, I would definitely call Mr. Watkins sometime early this week myself if I were you; rules out any confusion. He might have been caught off guard when he saw (or 'heard' I should say) a Semi truck in the parking lot, and thought y'all were only bringing bleacher horns. But give it another try, I'd love to see one of the two, or both, at the football game next week. We haven't had any train horns tootin' at Rebel Stadium in a few years.
  12. There is a rule against artificial noise makers; just rarely enforced. Anyway, the reason the Horns weren't allowed was because it wasn't pre-approved. Instead of showing up at the gate expecting to get in, a phone call should have been made earlier in the week asking for permission - still might have gotten the No answer but at least it would have saved the trouble. I'd suggest calling this week asking, but that bridge may be burned now. But, it's worth a shot.
  13. Great game. Both teams played very well. Probably one of the best games in West Tennessee. Not a game I care to repeat but enjoyed it either way.
  14. 3 hours and 45 minutes until kickoff. Lets go Rebels!
  15. It breaks my heart to admit it...but yeah, we don't play anybody. Everything we ever did was a fluke.
  16. Sending out a congratulations to Senior Colin Vinson for his nomination to receive the Mr. Football award. I believe this makes him the 3rd or 4th to ever be nominated in McKenzie's history.
  17. I'm not going to say they don't, but at the White House game they went for 2 every time.
  18. After watching the MtP/WH-H game, I have to say that Friday's game looks to be a good game. Now, some people close to me will disagree, but I didn't see anything that in particular scared me about the Tigers. Granted, they're good and speedy, but they're no faster than some of the teams we've already played this season. If the Rebels can come out and play like they did against TCA and Huntingdon, then I have a feeling the Rebels will be able to control the outcome of this game. They've got to play smart and hard every play though. Now isn't the time to take a break on a play, it's too late for that. I predict a 28-18 outcome.
  19. Nah, kid that moved in about 2 weeks or so ago from Henry Co. I think he is a Freshman though.
  20. The seeding isn't set in stone yet. If Bruceton wins or Trenton wins, the Rebels will win in the 4th tie-breaker. If Waverly wins, the Rebels need both Bruceton and Trenton to win to secure the #1 seed.
  21. Yeah, don't matter, but if I'm not mistaken, I looked at the tie-breakers and if Bruceton defeats West Carroll and/or Trenton defeats Gibson County, the Rebels will win the tie-breaker over Riverside.
  22. Coulda, woulda, shoulda. Last I checked, those things weren't good enough to win. I was there...very much there, on the sideline in fact...and saw everything very clearly. Humboldt didn't cross the goal line, so they didn't win.
