  1. As a casual observer of the teams of District 12-AA, I can tell you that Camden doesn't have the talent to compete. Adolph Rupp couldn't coach those boys that Camden has. Evidently, there are attitudes on the team that are almost impossible to coach. How come everytime a situation comes up like the one in the Camden-Lexington game, the coach is always at fault? Maybe fans of the Camden Boys Basketball program should try to investigate this matter before putting all blame on the coach, and that is just an outside opinion. There seems to be a prevalent attitude with high school sports these days that if a kid does something wrong, that it should be allowed. Maybe Camden's basketball coach has it right by trying to have a little discipline.

Evidently, you haven't been around the program at all or very long. This has been a problem that has been building up for years, and most everyone knows what it is. I won't say much here, but a change has been needed for a while there and it has finally come to a head. And yes, there probably isn't a lot of great basketball talent there, but there is enough for a inspired and motivated coach to have a decent team and season. I don't think nothing has to be investigated, because we that have been there know what is going on. Thanks for your outside opinion, but without saying any more, let's just leave it at that.

  2. Well to answer your question about how long it'll take Camden to wise up about this situation....I'm hoping that the things that when on before and during the Lexington/Camden game will have answered that question....if administration doesn't take a hint after half of the team quit today (2 of them DURING the game!) then they never will....something is terribly wrong with the way this team is being run. Being mediocre in Benton co has been business as usual up until Coach Ward showed up....I'm thinking that like me, everyone else has decided they like the business of winning and maybe something will be done after this season. We can only hope.....

It is sad that it has got this bad. It was bad several years ago and now it has gotten worse. Everyone I know is sick of the same ol' thing, losing.

The other night when Liberty was up 70 points on Camden, their coach was still standing up coaching/teaching his players that came off the bench, trying to help them get better. I was thinking that I would love for us to have a coach like that. As I left, I wanted to go by and commend him for that but a friend had already beat me to it.

Don't know where you read that but, Lumpkin is not playing baseball this year.

  4. I haven't heard...trying to find that out myself....but it looks like the weather is gonna wash out tonite anyway....as far as monday's games....?????

The Monday night games won't be made up. The pitching arms need to rest up this weekend and get ready for the regular season games starting Monday.

  5. Camden isn't gonna have anybody that can really shoot the ball next year, and there also not gonna have any size inside. There best chance is a fast paced game led by Tyrone and Leon.

Well, you never know for sure. A year can make a lot of difference for some players who want it bad enough and get the chance to play.

  6. Speaking of defensive players for Camden, Farmer does a great job, but another player who is coming on strong is C Moore. When he comes off the bench, he plays very aggressive, creates turnovers, and helps the team a lot when he is on the floor.

  7. look out for Lexington when facing Camden...last year a fight broke out and had to arrest 3 guys!!..It got crazy out there...from the Camden side of course..Lexington has a great student body and they might not be the loudest but they support LHS 100%

Just to set the record straight, no one from Camden was arrested at the game last year. They were escorted out, but not arrested. It all started when a group of guys from Lexington came over to our side and it took off from there. The officer came and asked them to leave our side. Some bottles were thrown back and forth and words were said and both sides went onto the floor. Camden just went first.

  8. I dont know if they did or not, I wasnt at the game but Camden dominated and they proved me wrong all year long and now I am a believer. Yeah i know i will catch some major heat here soon. oh well i admit it i was wrong and good luck the rest of the year to both teams.

I admire you G.B. for eating your crow. I'm impressed. But what about you C-a-t-f-i-s-h????

Fairview were good hosts and good sportsmen.

  9. Adamsville took them down last year and it was total domination.  I think it might be closer than what you think.

I would not call it total domination when a team had as many turnovers as Camden did in last years game. Yes, Adamsville played very well but Camden did not. They totally were not focused and overlooked the Cardinals and the speed of Robinson in that game .

  10. Sounds like we played well all around, very good. Yeah, the Willis kid is a good ball player, very fast and quick. Did Boyd go for over 100? I assume he did, anybody else have a huge game that stood out?

Heath Yoder had a great night. At halftime he had 12 tackles, don't know what he wound up with though. He also had 4 touchdowns for a total of 200 yards, and a blocked punt. He was voted the 96.5 player of the night.

    GO CAMDEN LIONS!!!

  11. I`m not crazy.

Anything can happen baseball. Milan is definitely a favorite to win or at least make it out of district. The Yankees don`t beat the Red Sox every time and if you think Milan will walk through the district just because they are undefeated so far well...like I said, I`m not crazy.

You're right V.G. You're not crazy, but baseball is, the best team doesn't always win! Anyone can win on any given day against any team!
