  1. Blaizerichter, first off I graduated after the state title team, and the only reason I didn't go to 1-A is because of my size. Colleges do look at size these days, and I don't like to brag at all. I won't let people like you talk negative about me, but I'm not cocky. Oh, and I do run a 4.3 40!! If someone from cloudland is faster, then I'll give them their props. But I would like to see them run with my own eyes!!
  2. I watched the first game between these two teams, and D-B played a good game. Jeff Co. has improved and I bet you Coach Meadows will have his boys ready on Friday. He knows how to win in the playoffs. Believe me, I know!!!! JC-35-21
  3. Ok I can't talk bad about Cloudland's players b/c I haven't seen them play, but I bet you that I can play on the same field and any of them, and let's not talk about speed!! That wouldn't be fair!
  4. Mr. Jumphook sorry to bust ya bubble, but I didn't play last year!! And when I did play against Goodpasture we beat them!! So try again, and Alcoa might be just as small as Cloudland East Tennessee sports writer. We don't have many students at all. If I'm not mistaking, Alcoa is supposed to be in 1a. I don't know if that is true though, and just to inform you jumphook Alcoa had 8 freshman starting on both sides of the ball, so that could explain this down year, but give them 2 year and we'll see!
  5. na u shut up!! Fulton will never win the state in track! I don't think yall have the speed, and I will talk about 2 yrs. ago if I want b/c it was pretty funny to me how yall can have that qoute put in big, bold spint "Bring on Alcoa" and then get blasted off the track!!! I'm just saying don't talk if you can't back it up and until yall win the state don't talk!! thank you!
  6. Can anyone tell me what colleges these young men ending up going to?? I know Marty Scales went to MTSU, James Rainer went to Western Carolina before transfering to ETSU, I don't know where Marquis Davis went, but I think it was somewehere in the ACC, I don't know about Chris Jones either or Sean Waller. But if anyone knows where these guys are could you let me know? thanks!!
  7. I agree with all of you,but you can't leave James Rainer out now. He did win 3 straight 100m titles,3 4x1,and 2-200m titles. His times at state were never blazing b/c of the competition in a/aa, but he can fly. He did run a 10.6 his sophomore year. He ran a 10.5 in AAU, coming in second place to Arkansas's Ahmad "Batman" Carroll. I would have loved to see these guys all on the track at the same time. But the different classifications prevented that. Keep the posts coming, because they are interesting!!
  8. Jumphook, first of all I don't play for Alcoa anymore and when I did we went 15-0, and if I'm not mistaken didn't Cloudland get spanked by Austin-East?? Thank you and we beat them 31-6 in the 3rd!! Yall couldn't win in 2a so yall dropped back down to 1a, and yall still won't win the state. Oh yeah, and I bet I can outplay any cloudland player on the roster!!!! Greenback 28-12!!!
  9. I would have to say: Chris Jones-Riverdale Marty Scales-Centennial James Rainer-Alcoa Marquis Davis-Memphis Central Sean Waller-????? [Edited by aLcOaChAmP5 on 11-18-02 9:17P]
  10. And for those Greenback players that haven't watched my film, watch the last 40 seconds of it and maybe that might motivate you a little. I'm doing what I can to help yall out!! Good Luck Once again!
  11. Honestly I'm not from either school, but I have some things to say. Greenback is better than people think, and could win the state with the right attitude and determination. Cloudland always has a great team and it will be a challenge for Greenback to beat them. Both of them score lots of points, so the defense will be the deciding factor for this one. I'm not hating on Cloudland, but I have to pull for the Cherokees. They are close to my county, so I'm on their side for this one. Just remember that everone thought we'd lose to Goodpasture in the 4th rd., but we wanted it a little more than they did!! We wanted to WIN!! Whatever Is Necessary! That was our qoute for the year, so do whatever it takes to get the job done, and Greenback will be 1 step closer to the ultimate goal!! I really want to come and see yall play in the 4th rd. so GO CHEROKEES!!! and good luck! 28-12
  12. I agree with you, Alcoa will be good in a few years, but the will have to know how to use the talent they have. They can have all the talent in the world, but if the coach doesn't know how to use it and when to use it then it's pointless. Example, in 99 we had more talent than we did in 2000, but the coach just didn't know how to use what he had and we ended up 6-6. in 2000, Meadows comes in and runs basically the same offense, but he used his players.....All OF THEM!! We had all of our speed on the field at the same time and defenses couldn't keep up with us!! So hopefully the next coach That Alcoa gets will know what to do!!!
  13. Alcoa vs. Union City- 2000 state championship. Alcoa led 27-0 at the half, but in the second half Union fought hard to come back to make the score 27-20. Alcoa fumbled the ball with like 2 min. left and Union drove down to the 1 yd. line. It was fourth and goal with 19 secs. left. Union City ran an option to the right and the Alcoa Defense stopped great Mario from reaching the endzone. They were as close to scoring as the Tennessee Titans were in the super bowl!!! Alcoa vs. Maryville-2000, another goaline stand 14-7 Alcoa!!
  14. Redtwin are saying that East Tn football is sorry?? I think East Tn football can match up with middle or west any day. We have just as many championships as the rest of the state. Maryville will play any of them teams this year and match up with them, probably beat them!! So don't even hate on East Tn!!!!
  15. Ok I'm from Blount County and I've watched the Rebels play since I was born. I used to hate the Rebels with a passion and I still do when my school plays them, but to be honest about all of this they have been to the state 4 out of 5 years, soon to be 5 out of 6, and they have won back to back titles so I do believe they are the best team in the state right now. They're still undefeated and I doubt they will lose a game this year. And if I'm out mistaking aren't they ranked somewhere in the nation? Well if not, they're close enough!! Oh yeah, and they did drill Oak Ridge like 48-0 or something like that!!!
  16. OSHSman I'd like to know what he's smoking too, b/c whatever it is it's not from around here. Hillsboro and Overton would abort the game at the half. They don't stand a chance against them Rebs. Believe me I've played against em for 4 years!!!
  17. Blue21sally@7 I agree with you, but there might be 1 team in TN that can beat Maryville and that is TENNESSEE!!.....Oh wait, TN isn't very good so they might not be able to beat them either. I believe The Rebs could go to Neyland and give the sorry Vols a good game!!hahaha!! Stewart might rush for 200!!haha
  18. Wildthing did you bump your head or something, b/c Maryville is on another level of football this year. They don't have the best talent in the world, but they don't make mistakes!! They execute very well, and if you haven't seen them play then you should come to Blount County this Friday night. You'll see what I mean and maybe you'll change your mind about Overton!!
  19. Alcoa has to be mentioned on here. We do have 5 state titles ya know!! most recent one in 2000- 15-0!!!
  20. silverman13 come on now!! U actually think cloudland can beat greenback by 3 or 4 td's?? everyone says that the Cherokees havent played anyone, but the teams they are supposed to blow out, they are! So it's not like they are barely beating these teams. Ok Midway was a barn burner, but thats one game. I've seen Greenback play and this game could be closer than everyone thinks!! Greenback 28-12!!
  21. I just dont think cloudland is that good. I hear alot about cloudland, and I remember A-E beating them a few years ago, but Greenback is pretty good this year.
  22. I agree with you jcole23. I think those four teams will be it!!
  23. The Fulton Falcons have never been contenders to them Tornadoes!!! Yall did lots of talking in 2001 when the headlines of the paper read "Bring on Alcoa". Im sure you remember that, and if you dont then I'll help you out. Well after Alcoa read that article in the paper, they set a region meet record in the 4x1 and I think they beat Fulton by like 30 meters!!! So I wouldnt do alot of talking this early in the year. You never know who will be good this year.
  24. Everyone in the state knows who Stephanie Woodfin is, b/c she came in second in the nation in the 100m last summer, and she won the state last year. She goes to Knox-Carter and she runs a 11.8 or something like that. There is a very good chance that she could repeat!!!
  25. I agree with ya buddy. the Lady T's have all 4 coming back from a terrific season. They set school records and could break the state record this year. My cousin is the anchor leg and she runs a 12.00, so I think they have a good shot to win the state this year.
