The Jackets really are hitting a tough part of their schedule with Silverdale,Signal Mtn., and So.Pitt lying ahead.
-
MC by a lot. Zemen 200+ yards.
Zemen will average 150 yds rushing per game. Some games will be more and some could be less depending on what the other backs are doing.
I heard Zemen was hurt and could be out for 5 weeks.

If the Pirates lift weights all day on Friday they might be a little tired and that is a bunch of mess!!You might think I'm joking and I am.Roy what is it about you and wanting these boys to lift weights the day of the game if these boys are not big enough by now i don't think one day will help out...But i do agree with you about the bananas Coach Victory always has a problem at the begining of the season with his players cramping up. Will i see you at the game Friday? I believe Sp Beats those Grundy High Boys 35-14 ...Hope to see you friday bring your book i would like to look at it ...THE CAPTAIN HAS SPOKEN

Old Pirate says with the folkes from Jasvegas a still with dreams high after the Jamboree them purple & white clad warriors will come out with guns a blazing. Recon with home cooking be a sometimes expected variable the Yellow jackets mite come away with the W, but OP figures the youngons from Jasvegas might be more hungry and take home the bacon....
You must be talking about the concession stand with home cooking.

It's not listed on the schedule but Whitwell plays @ Grundy on Sept.9 (not for sure but i think they play Upperman which would leave them 1 game to fill).
-
Bledsoe is to quick for Grundy. Grundy is big but man they are slow. Bledsoe should have no problems with Grundy, but you never know that is why you play the games.
I don't think many of Bledsoe's players think Grundy is slow.

I saw on the TSSAA website where SM's enrollment was around 650 for 2010.Will there be a realignment after this season?
-
CCS, I'd call a major longshot.
I agree.
-
I think Grundy needs this game to be a shootout to win. 2 out of the 3 games we have lost were 14-6 and 14-7. Wish we could have a big crowd but I don't see it happening.
-
Grundy needs to take care of business against Midway.Bledsoe has a very quick back and a strong armed QB. All of the "old school" fans need to come out and support the Jackets. I know I've made plenty of those long road trips to McMinn Central and Sequoyah. We need a great turnout for tonight's game (but I think that's wishfull thinking.)I'm really excited about Grundy football again.
-
Grundy needs a win.SM is 3-2,don't know much about them. It's also GC's homecoming.

Here's the thing about complaining about the refs - if they were better, they would be working at the next level. It's almost always their judgement that causes missed or bad calls (as opposed to rule interpretation), and even NFL refs don't always get it right. In addition, you're talking about regular Joes who are looking to pick up a couple of extra bucks on Friday nights. They could have had a bad day at work, their teenage daughter screamed at them for not letting them go riding around with Fast Eddie, their dog died, etc.
Although I despise the TSSAA, you can't necessarily blame them about rules. The NFHS is actually the entity that governs rules (and decides what points of emphasis need to be revised each year).
I agree about the sideline rules being a problem. Only 3 coaches in the sideline box is a joke, and having to be behind the media line during live play is ridiculous. Refs calling that rather than holding or false starts are making a mockery of the game. The action is in front of you not behind you.
I know some of the Tullahoma association officials call OVC games. The Southeast Tenn. crews step up to pee-wee games.

Maybe Jody is holding him back.Man I thought Hargis had a bigger fan club. And I don't drink Red Bull. I may be full of bull but I don't drink it.

You are old! not as old as me.

Well I still don't know what to think about it overall because you just can't predict anything really from the jamboree. Way too much sandbagging goes on in the jamboree. There were probably only two teams that showed everything Friday night and that was Whitwell and Lookout Valley. Whitwell was firing from both hips against South Pittsburg and looked like they'd just won the super bowl when they scored on the Pirates. I was by their sidelines and their coach wasn't holding anything back emotionally. He was pumping those boys up so I think you saw a decent picture of what they have. And the same for Lookout Valley just because of their numbers.
I can't say that Vic laid any of his cards on the table so who knows if he's as loaded as last year, loaded in a different way or still looking for some aces which I'm sure he'll find because he always does. If he's as loaded it could be real tough for Grundy to hang with the Pirates because when the situation is like that those are usually the results.
HOWEVER, no coach has focused on strength at Grundy like Nick Bryant has and it remains to be seen what year two of that workout program will do. I'm sure if Nick had his way he'd have those boys bench pressing fire trucks and squatting the Empire State building.
I'm sure Grundy will give everything to win Aug 27 in South Pittsburg and the Pirates will do everything to prevent that from happening. I hope for a good, close game with no injuries, with everyone behaving in a sportsmanlike manner and shaking hands when it's all said and done.
God I sound old.

I believe they were resodding the field.
replacing sod

Any update on the Jamboree? A verified location or the schedule? Its usually known by now?
it's scheduled to be played at grundy, but i have heard major work may be done to the field.
-
My pick is Grundy 27 Whitwell 12. I will be missing my first Grundy season opener since 1975. I will be in Berkeley for the UT-Cal game.
-
Even with rosters announcing a jamboree is tough. I know when I did the one at Grundy a few years back it was very hard to keep up. Too much change too fast. I think you would need at least 2 spotters to help you keep up with different rosters every quarter.
DL.
sorry i missed you last night. my back was giving me some trouble so i had to sit on the top row.thought grundy looked good at times on both o & d. corey has quite a bit of talent and leadership. was glad to see them running the I-bone and i really like their new white jerseys

Don't have a copy right now but I will see what I can do for you!!
Bill is kinda out of the loop right now since he is taking time off from coaching
to be a dad to his own kids. He got tired of telling them, "not now dad has to go
to football practice."
Where will the jamboree be held at this year?
-
Grundy's defense looks pretty stout. The offense needs to step it up. Grundy by 14.
-
Jackets 24
Chargers 21

Some schools from the Chattanooga area that come to mind are...
Kirkman: Golden Hawks
Chattanooga City Dyanmos
Chattanooga Riverside (Can't remember)
Cleveland Day School Trojans (I think)
Charleston Panthers
Riverside Trojans

Sequoyah has some big players.By that i mean Tall. They could have a good basketball team if they play. Grundy moved the ball at will on them. Polk will win big.
Silverdale Baptist Academy vs Grundy County
in Class 3A & Class 4A
