  1. Top knotch combo guard Kayla Christopher gets great national reviews by ESPN-Hoopgurlz writers:

ESPN-Hoopgurlz writers voted Jasmine Hassell and Jasmine James to Nike Nationals First Team.

    Note:

Jaclissa Haslip was actually part of 2 national championships over the course of one summer. She was also a critical part of the 15U AAU National Championship with the Memphis Elite.

I couldn't pull those articles up on my computer. Did anyone else make the all tournament team? Congrats to Hassell and James on being named 1st team!!

  2. I think you are suggesting that AAU is down and I agree to some extent, but if you compare the number of TN teams going to Nationals this year to last year. I don't think there was that large of a difference but I could be wrong, as I'm wrong alot.

Down over 20%. This is for all teams attending Nationals compared to last year.

  3. LOL

What's your point? The Tennessean is the paper that reported it which means they were the source that reported it.

Here's the papragraph from the Tennessean:

"Heavily recruited: Oliver Springs junior guard Kayla Christopher, a 5-foot-9 guard, will be one of the most recruited girls in the state next season.

Christopher, who finished with 24 points in a loss to Clarkrange on Wednesday, said she already has offers from MTSU, Louisville, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Florida and Baylor.

MTSU Coach Rick Insell and his entire coaching staff attended Oliver Springs' quarterfinal."

"Said she already has offers from .................................". Which tells us the Tennessean is reporting what she said and not actually saying it themselves.

Getting a letter and getting an actual offer are 2 different things. Many kids say they have offers but they don't always. That is why the Tennessean worded it that way. (just in case)

By the way, she is a fine player so don't get bent out of shape like you usually do. I wonder what she would look like if she was on Jackson County's team? Would she be the THE player or average 12-15 points like their GO-TO girls do?

  4. She showed why she is one of Tennessee's most heavily recruited players as a junior and one of most heavily recruited in Class A in a long long time.

The Tennessean stated she has already has offers from MTSU, Louisville, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Florida and Baylor. I'm sure that list will only grow larger this spring and summer.

The Tennessean didn't state she had offers from those schools. It said Kayla stated that she had offers from those schools.

  5. Getting back to basketball, I talked to 2 of the girls that sub in for 2nd wave and they were so focus on the game tomorrow nite, that I know if they are then I would say that the starting five are ready ,too. They just told me ,1 game at a time and that's what this team has do all year. Tournament time is Lady Rocket time. GO LADY ROCKETS

Who will you play in the sub-state/sectional game?

  6. Please explain . . . "Siegel will have a better year next year . . ." Have you acquired a crystal ball or consulted a palm reader???

You guys forgot to congratulate Whitey for joining Coacht and suddenly getting involved in this particular subject matter at this particular time. I wonder what family you are connected with?..............hhmmmmm. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

  7. 1. To suggest that Coach Bush and his staff "elected to play underclassmen in an attempt to get ready for next year" in a district tournament game is as ridiculous and absurd as the length of your posts and the sportswriter wannabe language contained in them. Coach Bush and his staff are competitors to the core. Though I was not at the game, whatever reason they had must have been important and valid as he and his assistants knew what the outcome of the game might be. Furthermore, the box scores indicate that you guys were in it most of the game only being down 7 or 8, so those 'underclassmen' must not have been doing so bad.

    2. I read where Wagoner made the all-tournament team and you stated that Siegel seniors sat out most of the game.. I don't know about you P, but most games that I have been to, players have to actually play before accomplishing this... maybe you need to be a little more accurate before you post such comments.

    3. Lastly, all of a sudden Siegel has "no offensive counter or direction to the other team's defenses".. normally you have a plethera of praises for this team. To answer the earlier question of why so much disappointment from you, I'm guessing your relative may have been one that sat out. Ahhh, I guess you are the typical fan/parent/grandparent. Loving when they're winning and your player is getting lots of pt, but when the tides turn, so do your colors. After all, if they don't play, they can't get those fancy awards.

Good luck to all the 7AAA teams in the region, and you too Siegel, no matter what gloom and doom says.

Coach Bush is an outstanding coach and a first class individual.

Vandy fan...........I thought your first post was right on the money and I'm sure a lot of the Siegel fans will agree with you. Some posters believe the more you post the smarter the poster. I'll take one good post any day over 3,000 rants and ramblings.

  8. I believe Briarcrest in the West. The East should be good games. Webb at home is tough but HH has been playing inspired. Even though they beat us twice, I look for JPII to win. It may depend on how Ensworth responds to the news that Coach Pack is leaving after the season. Should be good games all weekend.

    good respose from ensworth

  9. Faulkner had a game high 13 and White County was led by Cash with 10. The game was very low scoring at first. The pace picked up late in the fourth.I know many of you may feel like its a bit too early to decide but Im interested in seeing who you believe the district MVP will be this year?

  10. Classless???????????YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The sole reason you won't beat Maryville any time soon.

You seem to forget that Gatlinburg-Pittman had a kid that currently is not being recruited by a D1 team throw for 400 yds. Oh yeah, I forget you were missing 2 starters and a kicker. Cobb barely played defense. Starters did not play in second half. Players didn't care. Fans didn't come because it wasn't big game because GP was the same as a little league powder puff team. And I'm a millionare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Explain please----In the last 10-15 years the city of Alcoa has annexed about everything coming or going. (Think they even tried to annex Maryville.) But Alcoa High School's enrollment has gone down? Why does the multiplier not apply to them?

1.8 is coming. It will be on the the TSSAA table soon...............

  11. Correction: Alcoa's 2nd D is giving up more points this year-there were very few games were the first team played both halves. Alcoa worked the mercy rule like nobody else. 40-13 at the half tonight and the first team never touched the field the 2nd half.

They should play the 2nd team the rest of the way. Why stop there......let some of the 3rd team play too!

Heck, people in Alcoa are taller, better looking, make more money, live longer, drive better cars and have a front row seat reserved in heaven. (hopefully, they won't be hit with a 1.8 multiplier next year)

  12. it seems tonight that Siegel has finally found its ground with a 51-44 win over Bradley Academy, Morgan Faulkner came in and helped her team....between Faulkner and Wright, they combined for 34 of the teams 51 points, senior leadership will be the key to Siegel being successful this year, looking forward to a great year....

  13. MTSU gets a jewel here. Abby is a first class act with great folks, great attitude and work ethic. All she needs is an opportunity & MTSU gave that..she'll be fine. What she lacks in height & outside shooting, she makes up for in heart & hustle..two things Insell will exploite to the max....great kid & best of luck!!!

Lacks in height? They now list her at 5'10" according to the paper and MTSU... She still looks 5'7" or 5'8" to me but still a good player.

  14. There is a spring in Overton Co. where they get their water. All the girls are pretty(the best play basketball) and most of the boys end up (Drs or Lawyers).I missed something....

    huh?

  15. brian, as usual you can't help. You can't post unless you divy up your $12 which I'm not sure you can afford. Best of luck next time around.

This poster thinks that was a negative thing to say.

Thats good enough. Grow 2" in a couple of years and you are there. Wow. Someone must have been searching all of White County to get them. Better keep them in sight, your neighbors from the north will try to get them.

This poster knows that was a negative comment.
